Republican Melt

Frosty the Snowman said, “Because when the thermometer gets all reddish, the temperature goes up. And when the temperature goes up, I start to melt! And when I start to melt, I get all wishy-washy.” I looked that up on Google.

Frosty always did creep me out, even when I was a kid. I found him even creepier than that weird magician. I watched that show as a kid rooting for Frosty to melt. But he’s right about the wishy-washy part. The one big difference between Frosty and Republicans getting wishy-washy is that Frosty gets that way when the thermometer turns red. For Republican presidential candidates Nikki Haley, Ron DeSantis, and Vivek Ramaswamy, they started off wishy-washy.

From the first Republican debate back in August, except for Chris Christie, they were all wishy-washy in fear of criticizing Trump. It’s hard to tell voters they should vote for you over Donald Trump while refusing to criticize Trump out of fear of angering those voters. If a presidential candidate is so wishy-washy about Trump, then how can we expect that person as president to not be wishy-washy with someone like Vladimir Putin?

Being wishy-washy didn’t work for candidates Mike Pence, Doug Burgum, Tim Scott, Larry Elder, Perry Johnson, Will Hurd, Francis Saurez, Asa Hutchison, and now after the Iowa caucuses, Vivek Ramaswamy as they have all dropped out. Directly attacking Trump didn’t work either as Christie dropped out last week.

For most of these candidates, winning the primary and then the presidency are delusions of grandeur, except for Ramaswamy because he was never actually running for president. Forget about criticizing Trump directly…Ramaswamy appeared to be running as a surrogate candidate for Trump. Trump was not in any of the debates, but Ramaswamy was there to push his racist agenda, lies, and conspiracy theories. Vivek promoted the lies that Trump won in 2020 and the Trump insurrection was started by the FBI. It’s all bad hair and deep state for Ramaswamy who can now go on to a career of pushing hate, lies, and conspiracy theories to the MAGA base, who love to eat that shit up. The other option for him is becoming Trump’s running mate, but there are a lot of goons currently auditioning for the job. Vivek Ramaswamy only ran to increase his profile.

DeSantis put most of his eggs in Iowa to only run 30 points behind Trump, though he did come in second place. That’s probably as good as he’s going to do. He’s skipping the next primary which is in New Hampshire and focusing instead on the third which is in South Carolina. It’s early to make predictions and Richard Nixon did come back to win the presidency after losing a race for governor of California, but this presidential campaign may have ruined the political future for Ron DeSantis. Maybe he should have spent four more years gooning in Florida and then going for the presidency in 2028… if we’re still having presidential elections in 2028 that is.

Even though she came in third in Iowa, barely behind DeSantis, Nikki Haley has the most momentum to oppose Trump…even though Trump is still ahead of her by 16 points in New Hampshire. Haley will be gone soon and the nomination will be given to Trump by the sycophantic base, which shows just how stupid they are.

Polls show that Nikki Haley would have the best chance of beating President Joe Biden in the general election. Instead of going for the sensible option, Republicans are going with a failed president (sic) who was a one-termer, who presidential historians rank as one of the worst presidents (sic) in history, proved he can’t handle a crisis, spent four years being Putin’s beyotch, and is facing four criminal trials and two civil trials. Facing 91 criminal charges, Donald Trump could be in prison by the time the general election gets going. Are Republicans going to stick with a candidate after he’s behind bars?

I hope Trump is in prison before November just for the pure entertainment from the Republican shitshow.

Unfortunately, Nikki Haley, who briefly had a reputation for being tough, is now to wishy-washy to criticize Trump. She’s even too wishy-washy to state that the cause of the Civil War was slavery out of fear of offending the racist MAGAt base. A couple days ago, she said this nation has NEVER been a racist country…you know…this nation that once had legalized slavery, prevented black Americans from voting, incarcerated over 125,000 Japanese Americans during World War II, and today, Republicans are screaming about “open borders,” building a racist wall, and banning Muslims from entering the country. The United States has always been a racist country. Nikki sucks at history just like she sucks at running for president.

It’s no wonder all these candidates are melting. I hope Trump melts before November.

  1. The best thing going for Democrats is that no Republican csndidate would make a good President. They are ALL less than ideal candidates — much less. But Democrat voters have to get out and vote! If they get complacent everything could go sideways.

  2. Haley was a member in good standing of the Tea Party. Now she’s being portrayed as a “moderate” Republican. She wasn’t. And she isn’t. She doesn’t support choice, doesn’t believe that chattel slavery was entirely a bad thing, nor the cause of the Civil War (the War of Northern Aggression (sic), global heating. She DOES believe that diplomacy is war without guns and that high heels are both weapons and enabling. Do not fall for her crap.
