The Far Right National Party in France was expected to come out of the snap elections with a huge win. Shockingly, they came in third. Fascists have been gaining strength in Europe with huge wins in elections for the European Union but French voters said, “Non” to fascism.
Perhaps voters in France have a better memory of the Trump presidency (sic) than American voters have. Or maybe they remember the Nazis who occupied their country in World War II.
President Emmanuel Macron’s Centrist Coalition came in second to the New Popular Front after both parties removed candidates so there wouldn’t be too much vote splitting, thus depriving Marine Le Pen’s fascist party of feeding off the corpses of the other two parties.
Now, the top two parties have to form a government. The New York Times writes, “In a country with little taste for political compromise and collaboration, it is unclear how a government can be formed and take on the important work of passing the country’s budget and enacting new laws.”
That sounds like the United States.
Macron announced the snap election in May after his centrist Together alliance was heavily beaten by Le Pen’s fascist party in the European elections. It was a desperate and risky move to keep the fascists from controlling the French Parliament…and it worked. Macron urged voters to back the hastily put-together left-wing coalition or centrist group to save French democracy…to save France itself.
MAGAts are upset about this because they fear it’ll spread to the United States where so far, voters seem to have forgotten the dangers of Trumpism. MAGA is afraid voters will realize that this election is a choice between freedom and fascism. In case you’re a moron, the fascism is choosing MAGA.
Catturd, a ridiculous MAGA account on Twitter/X with over two million followers tweeted without any context, “They cheated in France just like here.” Naturally, Catturd didn’t provide proof.
Ryan Fournier, a co-founder of the Students for Trump group, wrote: “I care more about America than I do about a country like France that knows how to throw up the white flag quicker than they can fight.” Who surrendered and refused to fight in this election? The real fighter in this who did not surrender or “throw up the white flag” is President Macron, who is also French, Mr. Fournier.
End Wokeness, a right-wing Twitter/X account with more than 2.6 million followers, said: “This is insane. Macron’s party colluded with the far-left socialists in order to block a Le Pen win” I’m going to gamble and guess that End Wokeness doesn’t understand how the French government works, so it’s probably something he should stop lecturing about.
The account also posted, “200 candidates dropped out last week, coalescing against the ‘far-right’. Well the coup just paid off. The socialists just won FIRST PLACE. It looks like France will not be saved.” An election is NOT a coup, whether it’s in the United States or France.
Chaya Raichik, the idiot behind the Libs of TikTok Twitter/X account posted, “Glad I got the opportunity to visit France before it totally goes to sh*t. RIP France.”
Yeah, too bad you missed it when Hitler had control of it, Chaya. You would have loved it.
Oui, oui.

Risky, but worth the result! Kudos to Macron for designing it.

Actually, Rally came in first in the first round. Second in the second round, which is the one that counts. Also, Macron still needs to form a government, which won’t be easy since his right of center party does not (usually) play well with others and he’ll need some left wing ministers to fill out the government; you know: Greens, Socialists and others. Hurray et vive la France.
