Youngkin Bumpkin

President Joe Biden has very low approval ratings nationally while political analysts keep saying Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin, a Republican, is popular in Virginia. But a poll conducted by the University of Mary Washington Center for Leadership and Media Studies (right down the street from me) last September says in a hypothetical presidential general election contest in Virginia, that Biden would beat Youngkin by three points.

Even though we have a goon governor in a stupid red vest who lies a lot, Virginia is a purple state. When Youngkin ran for governor in 2021, he had the good fortune to run against a very bad Democratic candidate while President Biden’s polls were dropping. He gaslighted and lied his red vest-wearing balls off about Critical Race Theory and claimed that the Department of Justice was using the FBI to spy on parents who voiced concerns about CRT at school board meetings. He made a lot of noise about the Lincoln Project sending fake Nazis to troll his campaign, but he never disavowed those tiki-torch Nazis who marched in Charlottesville and killed anti-racist activist Heather Heyer.

In addition to not wanting to talk about actual Nazis, Youngkin avoided talking about abortion during his campaign. He told voters not to worry about that issue but after he won, he immediately got to work on restricting abortion rights in Virginia. All he needed to make it happen was the General Assembly. Unfortunately for Youngkin, he only had half the General Assembly. Republicans held the House while Democrats held the Senate. Democrats couldn’t pass anything they wanted because of this divide, but neither could Youngkin and his fellow Republicans.

So Youngkin came up with a “compromise.” He and Republicans said they would only restrict abortion to 15 weeks. They believed reducing women’s rights over their own health to just 15 weeks was a compromise. What big hearts people without vaginas have over how women control their uteruses. So when the state midterms came up, Youngkin again tried to play down abortion. Fortunately, Democrats wouldn’t let him.

Here’s a compromise. Keep your fucking hands off women’s uteruses.

Since Youngkin didn’t talk about 15 weeks during his first campaign, do you think he would have stopped there if he had won the General Assembly during this year’s campaign? Shit no. Youngkin fought to take the Senate from Democrats but not only did he fail, he also lost the House. As Nelson Muntz would say, “Ha! Ha!”

There’s more good news in this as Republicans still don’t get it. Even after losing on abortion in Red Kansas, Red Ohio, and Virginia, they still don’t seem to understand that it’s a losing issue for them. Presidential candidate Tim Scott said after last night’s debate that it wasn’t abortion that lost the General Assembly for Youngkin, and proposes a FEDERAL ban on abortion after 20 weeks. A Republican pundit said it wasn’t abortion that cost them the General Assembly, but Republican candidates’ failures to respond to Democratic lies. Also last night, Donald Trump and Vivek Ramaswamy said Joe Biden takes bribes.

During the debate, Ron Captain Puddin’ Fingers Bootsy Heel Lifts DeSantis told a heartwarming story about a woman whose mother decided not to abort her and is now a judge in Florida. The woman was born in Jamaica where abortion is not affected by U.S. abortion laws, you stupid boot-wearing puddin’ loving’ shithead. Maybe Ron thinks Jamaica is a U.S. territory like Puerto Rico. And the audience applauded this shit. Someone tell Trump it’s surrounded by water.

Republicans might start to realize over the next year that abortion is a losing issue for them, though most will continue to believe the nation agrees with them to limit or kill women’s rights entirely. The Supreme Court that overturned Roe was not put there by the majority of American voters.

In the past, Republican voters were more motivated by abortion than Democratic voters. They knew that if they got the Supreme Court, then they’d eventually ban it. Now they’re very close and if Trump wins the presidency and gets a Republican House and Senate, they will ban abortion. Even Trump isn’t dumb enough to talk about abortion now as he’s playing it down.

Democrats need to be motivated by this, as they have been over the past year because Republicans will ban abortion outright on the federal level if we sleep through the next election and give them the opportunity. There will not be a compromise.

Republicans may try to be quiet about this, but we can’t let them. We have to remind voters every day who and what Republicans are and what evil shit they’re going to do.

Remember, it’s always been the liberal party in America that’s advanced rights and the conservative party that’s taken them away…and they’re going to try to do it again if we allow it. Vote now…while you still can.
