Puff Puff Pass GOP

President Joe Biden is doing so poorly in the polls that even a failed president (sic) and racist stupid dumbass like Donald Trump is beating him yet despite that, Democrats won big last night.

Democratic governor Andy Beshear won reelection last night in Kentucky against a Trump-endorsed opponent who tried to nationalize the election. Beshear has spent the past four years on state issues and has criticized his state’s total ban on abortion. He won easily despite Kentucky being a state Trump won easily in 2020.

Despite Ohio being a red state for Trump twice and sending J.D. Vance to the Senate last year, Republicans lost two big elections in the state last night. First, they lost on weed as voters approved legalizing recreational use. Republicans also lost on abortion as Ohioans easily approved a constitutional amendment establishing the right to an abortion. Republicans have lost on abortion when they allow voters to decide, even in red states like Ohio and even Kansas. Republicans still haven’t figured out that abortion is a losing issue for them. Most people in this nation favor abortion rights.

Look at Glenn Youngkin, governor of Virginia. When he ran for office in 2019, he was silent about his plans for abortion and spent his campaign gaslighting and lying about Critical Race Theory and “parental rights.” Shortly after going into office, he worked to ban abortions after 15 weeks down from the current 22. He called it a “compromise.” The only thing that stopped him was the Virginia Senate, which was blue. Last night, he tried to win the Senate to go with the Republican-led House so he could enact the new abortion ban…and heck…maybe even restrict it shorter than the 15-week “compromise.” But oh-oh, what happened? Not only did Youngkin not win the Senate but he also lost the House. Youngkin isn’t going to pass anything for the next two years without the approval of the Democratic General Assembly.

The good news is that Republicans are still confused as to why abortion isn’t working for them so they’ll keep trying and in doing so, continue to lose elections on it. Also, a Pennsylvania Supreme Court candidate who ran on abortion rights won last night, giving Democrats a 5-2 majority.

The only big one, kinda sorta, that Democrats lost last night was the race for Mississippi’s governorship, but it’s Mississippi. Both candidates were anti-abortion and despite being second cousin to Elvis, Democratic candidate Brandon Presley failed to bring a Blue Christmas to the state and spent last night in Heartbreak Hotel, even after promising voters a hunka hunka hunka of Medicaid expansion.

And even as the president faces low approval numbers he can take heart that the last six Kentucky governor’s elections have been won by the same party that won the presidential election the following year.

Republicans are the party that takes rights away, from women’s rights to voting rights. I hope voters realize this before November of next year.

  1. I’m so tired of the “Biden’s loooooosing!” stories in the media. WaPo had a editorial by George Will where he went on and on about Biden’s inelectability.
Does anyone who’s not a MAGAt really think Biden is worse than Trump?
Has the nation forgotten Trump’s 4 years in office? Wtf is going on?!

    1. I know. If you listen closely to some commentators (on PBS for example), they point out that Biden has actually continued to deliver in many ways on being an able politician in addition to a leader we can trust and respect. I respect him and wish that people would show appreciation to him. He stood between us and a sordid character and pulled our nation back from the brink. He deserve to be treated with reverence for pulling it off.

      1. Exactly! Biden isn’t perfect, but he’s actually gotten a lot of good stuff done–infrastructure, the CHiPS Act, climate issues. Unfortunately, a lot of that just isn’t sexy enough for our short attention span media–always more fun to report on Donald’s latest incoherent rant, even though that is not helpful to the country at all.

  2. Why are Polls today so very, very wrong?🤔

It is because Polls are based on a group of people who will answer every phone call, even unrecognizable phone numbers on the Caller ID, and then happily and eagerly answer any questions posed by the unknown caller. These people have the same gullible mentality as GQP QMAGATS, so it is highly likely that they ARE GQP QMAGATS!!! 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬

Hence practically all polls reflect the GQP QMAGAT point of view. 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬
