Bibi Draws A Crowd

Israeli Defense Forces spokesperson, Lt. Col. Jonathan Conricus said on CNN today that Hamas is a terrorist organization that lies, so we can’t trust any “information” from them. He’s absolutely right. We can’t trust Hamas. They are indeed terrorists. Then Conricus said that the Jabalia refugee camp that the IDF bombed today and yesterday was not a refugee camp, but a Hamas stronghold. That is a lie.

Certainly, Hamas positions itself within the civilian population of Gaza. Even if Hamas didn’t intentionally use civilians, schools, neighborhoods, and hospitals as shields, civilians would still be in danger of being in strike zones as Gaza is one of the most densely populated places on Earth. It’s impossible to go to war against Hamas without killing civilians. But does the IDF need to intentionally bomb a refugee camp over and over again?

The IDF knows Jabalia is a refugee camp. It may also be a Hamas stronghold but it’s still a refugee camp, and a large one with a population around 50,000. The IDF bombed the camp yesterday and justified it by saying the strike killed a major leader of Hamas, one who planned the terrorist attack on October 7. But hitting the camp wasn’t an oops because the IDF hit it again today. In fact, they hit the refugee camp five times in October. The IDF is not sorry about striking the camp and quite frankly, they don’t seem sorry that they killed civilians.

Nearly all information that comes from a warring party is propaganda. It might be true, but when you send a spokesperon to go on TV to spin about your war, you’re also waging an information war. When your spokesperson describes a refugee camp as a “Hamas stronghold,” it’s stating that it was a legitimate target to be bombed. When your spokesperson blames Hamas for using civilians as shields, he’s absolving your government of any responsiblity.

Hamas is to blame, but by dropping bombs daily on a refugee camp, so is the IDF. The next time a bank robber takes hostages, the police can just kill them all and blame the bank robbers. Would that be justified? Or do you understand that taking hostages is what bad guys do and that since you’re better than the bad guys, you need to save all the hostages? Is it OK if just a few of the hostages die as long as you get the bad guys too? This is the way the IDF is describing.

How do you justify killing terrrorists while terrorizing civilians?

Listen, kids. I’m not a genius. I’ve never waged war. I’ve never shot a gun at a human being and I’ve never been a victim of a terrorist attack. I have zero military experience. I don’t know how you kill terrorists without killing their human shields. I don’t know what you should do if terrorists build tunnels under schools and hospitals. But I don’t think the right thing to do is to go on a scorched-Earth campaign through civilians and just blame the bad guys.

Hamas is a terrorist organization. They don’t care about civilians. They didn’t target the IDF on October 7, they went after Israeli civilians. They murdered, kidnapped, and raped Israeli civilians. by all means, the IDF should take out Hamas. Hamas needs to be destroyed and I want Israel to win this war. I know there are no clean wars, but bombing refugee camps is brutal. And when you keep doing it while lying about it, how am I supposed to believe that you’re better than Hamas? How am I supposed to believe that you care about civilians when you’re killing them?

I don’t have the answer but there’s gotta be one that’s better than repeatedly bombing civilians at the same location.

  1. When you begin a war by killing, mutilating, raping and kidnapping civilians you lose any right to cry about it when your opponent responds with extreme violence.

In the history of human warfare there has never been a time when civilians didn’t bear the brunt of suffering when kings or governments fought each other.

Where does this idea come from that the Israelis can target only terrorists hiding among civilians in bunkers constructed under hospitals, schools and homes? Just how is that supposed to happen?

    1. Where’s your empathy, your concern for innocent children being brutally murdered? Two wrongs do not, never have, and never will make a right, and the killing of innocent people will never be justifiable in my book.

      1. Empathy is a wonderful thing for you. It costs you nothing but it’s unrealistic.

There was a lot of empathy when the Russians invaded Ukraine and they started targeting civilians but it didn’t stop anything.

Empathy wasn’t a concern of Hamas when they started this, nor is it now. Listen to their statements in between pleas for concern for the people amongst which they hide- their stated goal has not changed.

You’re buying their Propaganda. Empathy won’t stop this, but it will give Hamas time to regroup and resupply.

      2. And you think Israel isn’t a terrorist group? Israel is using the war to kill Palestinians so they can take over the Gaza Strip, the West Bank, and other Palestinian lands so they can expand their holdings. They see an opportunity, and they are acting on it, no matter who dies.
There is no responsible or acceptable or humane reason to continue this war. This is pure aggression, no different from what Putin is doing in Ukraine.
Prior to 1947 this land all belonged to Palestine. Israel had no claim on it. But because of some fucked-up book from 2000 plus years ago they were given the land as a welfare handout — the world was feeling guilty for what the Nazis did to the Jews. This wss a goodwill gesture, but Israel has never been satisfied with what they were gifted. Palestinians did not deserve this fate then, they do not deserve this fate now.
It is not the Palestinian people waging this war, it is a small terrorist group. But Netanyahu doesn’t give a flying fuck who gets killed. Put him in an arena with a Hamas leader, let the two of them fignt it out. Winner gets to be President if the whole area. But no one gets to kill or displace civilians on either side. Too many innocent people are dead. War solves nothing! It just kills, maims, and causes endless unnecessary suffering.
Have humans not evolved in the past 10,000 years? The ones who have are still being held hostage by bad men with guns — on both sides. And you sound like one of them!

      3. Again more Propaganda. I guess it will remain to be seen but the Israeli government says they have no desire to occupy the strip. Which makes sense if you understand anything about the number of troops and resources it takes to sufficiently occupy another land.

They pulled out in early 2000 almost 20 years of allowing them self government.

People die in war. More civilians die in war when the opposing government uses them as humans shields around military targets.

How are the Israeli government supposed to prevent their citizens from dying in rocket attacks from suicide bombers or other forms of violence by Hamas without retaliating?

We are privy to a lot of instant communication however we are not privy to any means to confirm or vet the information we receive.

We have accounts from hostages Hamas uses tunnels, we do know Hamas demands the Palestinians become eager martyrs to their cause, from their recent public statements

It’s a like a gang coming into your home shooing some of your family holding you hostage and while shooting at the neighbors and them demanding the public to stop the police from shooting back.

  2. I looked at a map from 150 years ago. I then looked at a map of today. The only difference is the borders. The land masses are pretty much all the same. In 50 years the land masses will probably still look the same. I will be gone and so will most people my age. 150 years ago people fought wars for land and fifty years from now people will be fighting wars for land. Same shit, different day. Fuck war and the assholes starting war. In 50 years all the assholes will be buried on the land the next generation of assholes will fight over. What is the answer? There is no answer. Too many assholes in power prevent sanity and sane answers.
