Elon Musk doesn’t understand free speech. He believes that the United States Constitution guarantees free speech on private platforms. It does not. Also, Twitter/X extends beyond the United States.
Twitter was a great platform until Elon purchased it and started fucking things up. He started charging for the blue check mark which was originally for proving authenticity, but now anyone can have it merely by paying Elon $8 a month. Is it still $8? This champion of free speech gave priority to MAGAts so that now even without following them, the first posts that show up in my news feed are from goons like Lauren Boebert, Jim Jordan, Marjorie Taylor Greene, Laura Loomer, Donald Trump Jr, and a whole bunch of other fascist freakazoids. He reinstated Donald Trump’s Twitter account. Elon even changed the name of Twitter to X.
Elon didn’t just reinstate Donald Trump. He reinstated thousands of accounts that spread lies and disinformation. Nazis and other assorted white nationalist hate groups came back to Twitter. Elon believes hate speech is freedom of speech. Elon believes using Twitter to organize terrorist attacks, the way Trump did for January 6, 2020, is freedom of speech. Now, Hamas has been using Twitter. How could anyone have predicted this? In case you’re a Republican, that was sarcasm.
You would think that advertisers abandoning Twitter/X and driving down its value after giving a platform to hate groups would have taught Elon a lesson. Instead, he blamed anti-hate groups for Twitter/X’s value plummetting. It’s like Republicans blaming Democrats for their inability to elect a Speaker of the House, even though no Republican would ever vote for a Democratic Speaker.
Elon likes to buy things like Tesla and take credit for it yet he can’t own the disaster he’s made of Twitter/X.
Now, the European Union is investigating Twitter for giving a platform to accounts that belong to Hamas which have spread hate and disinformation. The EU has a regulation called the Digital Services Act and they sent a letter to Elon to determine if Twitter/X has violated it by allowing Hamas to run rampant on the platform leading up to their attack on Israel. If the EU determines a violation of the act did occur, they can fine Twitter/X up to six percent of its global value. Ouch. That would be a lot of money, even for the richest pastiest goon on Earth.
Elon has until October 18 to explain its crisis response to online terrorist propaganda and other violent and false content related to Hamas’ attacks on Israeli communities. Elon has until October 31 (boo, baby) to provide details on other content moderation issues raised by the EU.
The EU’s Internal Market Commissioner Thierry Breton said that the Digital Services Act “is here to protect both freedom of expression & our democracies, including in times of crisis.” Twitter/X has been swamped with graphic images, falsehoods, and terrorist propaganda since Elon took it over. MAGAts love using Twitter to help spread disinformation that supports Russia’s illegal invasion of Ukraine. MAGA is a hate group. Elon didn’t just allow hate groups to assemble on Twitter, he invited them, especially if they pay him $8 a month. For only eight bucks, a terrorist can be verified on Twitter. Thanks a lot, Elon.
This is just another fine example of Elon fucking up what was a good thing.

And, free speech goes, out the windows, as there are, the, preferences of, political parties of these, “privately owned” enterprises, and, in a “free country” such as the U.S., these unfounded views, can’t be, taken off of the internet, because, it’s, “free speech”, and so, these tainted views, keep on, spreading, high, and, wide, gaining the support from the, masses.

Why is he NOT IN JAIL?!? He deliberately and maliciously sabotaged Ukraine by turning off Starlink access so they could not defend themselves. He has contracts with the Pentagon and DoD, yet he met with Russian officials, and at their request, sabotaged Ukraine in order to make it easier to attack them. Musk claimed if he had let Ukraine use the satellite, they would have “escalated” the war and made it easier for them to hit back at the Russians. So why is he not in freaking jail?!?
This is going directly against an ally of the United States, and probably costing us billions of dollars. He’s like some evil, ignorant, buffoon who’s running around meddling and getting people murdered. I think the DoD should have him arrested, deport his meddling ass back to SA, and confiscate all his businesses based in the US. Definitely anything we gave him money for, or help develop. Including Tesla and Twitter.
