Shoot The Birther

I started this cartoon while sitting at a bar. I finished it at home because things got crazy, but that’s another story. But the math says Tarantula tequila plus girl-too-young for Clay means Clay doesn’t get home until after 5:00 AM. I digress.

So before the Tarantula or what’s-her-name showed up I started this cartoon by lettering the text. This wanker sitting two stools down from me yells out “hey, prove that.” I respond “excuse me?”. Somehow this guy had been watching me work over my shoulder. He wants me to prove that Obama was born in America. He goes on to tell me despite a birth certificate and even Trump stating Obama was born in America, he still refuses to believe it. I ask him what evidence he has for his belief. He paused as if that was a question he had not considered before. Hmmm. Logic. But he had a retort which was Obama is the only president to ever conceal his birth certificate. I told him that Obama was the first to ever have it requested. Again….hmmm….logic. Then I changed the subject to how much it sucks when 14 girls attempt to karaoke “Love Shack.” This is a bar. You don’t talk politics in a bar. The birther did finish his night in a bar fight where I had to pull the other guy off him (which had nothing to do with me thank god). Then came the Tarantula and the girl and 5:00 AM. The entire experience was more stupid than exciting in case that’s the impression you’re getting.

The point I’m making is that people will remain willfully ignorant. This man told me he doesn’t believe what CNN, MSNBC, or even Fox News tells us to believe. So he’ll just believe whatever he wants without reason. This is who Trump caters to. These people are out there.

Trump has been under so much heat over the birther racism agenda he championed that he finally admitted Obama was born in America. Did Trump admit he was wrong? Did he fork over the $5 million to charity he promised to deliver after he was convinced Obama was born in the U.S? No and no.

After spending years on the racist birther lie Trump spent all of 36 seconds to say it was all a big hoax. He claims his birther campaign was a benefit to America as it provoked Obama to prove his citizenship. Obama never needed to prove his citizenship. Trump took no responsibility for afflicting our nation with a double dose of racism and hatred.

Trump also blamed Hillary Clinton for creating the birther issue. This is a big fat lie and yet Trump is viewed by more voters as being more truthful than Clinton. Hillary Clinton didn’t do the talk-show circuit promoting birtherism. That was Trump. Nevertheless, engaging in a disgusting, hateful, and racist act isn’t made OK because someone did it first. Our options for president should be adults, not babies.

Trump is a baby. An adult would take responsibility for his actions. An adult does not blame others for his shortcomings, fabrications, and outright lies. Admitting fault is not a weakness. The weakness is making excuses, and lame ones at that. Trump has surrounded himself with enablers who fit his mold of liars and con artists who will make excuses and toss out distractions to refrain from answering a question honestly.

As if lying to cover up a lie wasn’t enough on a Friday, Trump said Hillary Clinton’s bodyguards should disarm to see what happens to her. This was part of his attack toward Clinton’s position on gun safety as he accuses her of having an agenda to eliminate the 2nd Amendment (which is impossible).

In early August he suggested that gun rights supporters could stop her if she’s elected from appointed Supreme Court justices.

Donald Trump is a racist who is encouraging his supporters to kill his opponent. Trump’s followers are deplorable but it starts at the top of the ticket. He makes me a lot sicker than Tarantula tequila ever will.
