Greg Abbott To The Rescue

The Smokehouse Creek wildfire has burned over one million acres in the Texas panhandle and has now crossed into Oklahoma where it’s burned 31,000 acres in that state. The fire was only 15 percent 24 hours ago. The fire has destroyed over 500 homes and businesses. I’m having trouble finding new updates that aren’t from Texas Governor Greg Abbott.

Abbott doesn’t believe in climate change even when he’s straight at it. He believes the best way to prevent immigration is through cruelty and gimmicks, like walls on the border, buoys and razor wire in the Rio Grande, and bussing migrants out of Texas to make it someone else’s problem. In Texas, the governor treats non-white human beings like cattle. He’s also criminalized abortion believing that’ll end the practice. He’s even criminalized leaving the state for an abortion. When Texas had a freeze so bad that it chased Senator Ted Cruz out of the state to Cancun, Abbott blamed green energy.

Texas is full of good people and firefighters who are heroes, risking their lives to save others, but the governor is an idiot. He’s a MAGAt anti-science cultist. The key for Texas to fight this fire will be to ignore him.
