Bok Bok Bok For Biden

After a drone attack that killed three American service members in Jordan, Republicans have been howling for President Biden to retaliate.

The attack, which injured over 40 other service members, is believed to have been committed by terrorist groups that are Iranian proxies. Whether Iran ordered them to attack U.S. troops or merely funded them because they liked their style, they still bear responsibility.

There have been over 160 attacks on U.S. forces since October 7, when Hamas attacked Israel. There have even been a few more since the attack in Jordan over the weekend. President Biden has said he’s decided how he’s going to retaliate which should concern everybody, the U.S., our allies, and our enemies.

The trick is to attack Iran in a way that sends a message or inhibits its support of terrorist groups. But, we don’t want to hit inside Iran or use such force that it escalates war in the Middle East. Republicans like John Bolton and Lindsey Graham want war.

A lot of Republicans want to bring back the foreign policy of Donald Trump, whose administration (sic) murdered an Iranian general in Iraq. The problem with that is, it didn’t work. In case nobody has noticed, Iranian proxy groups stepped up their attacks on U.S. forces after that hit. Another problem with the assassination of an Iranian general is that it’s illegal. It’s not just illegal according to international law, but illegal according to U.S. law.

Along with the United Kingdom, the U.S. has been hitting targets in Yemen after Houthi rebels, also backed by Iran, attacked shipping in the Red Sea. The U.S. needs to do the same thing with the Iranian proxies who murdered three service members in Jordan but don’t do it the Republican way.

Republicans are really bad with military engagements. They stranded our military in Afghanistan for over two decades. The withdrawal was negotiated by Trump, who released over 4,000 members of the Taliban who now control the nation. Republicans started the Iraq war in 2003 based on lies and without an exit strategy. Over 4,500 U.S. service members died in Iraq. The war in Iraq created ISIS and destabilized the entire region. And then Donald Trump comes along and recognizes Jerusalem as the capital of Israel and now everyone’s wondering why Hamas has attacked that nation. Trump also tore up the Iranian nuclear agreement which is another factor in all of this.

When President Biden retaliates against Iranian proxy terrorists, I hope he doesn’t do it on the advice of Republicans.
