Disqualified Dinghy

Thank you, Maine.

Maine Secretary of State Shenna Bellows said she was duty-bound by state law to decide on three challenges brought by registered Maine voters and remove Donald Trump from the state ballot.

She said, “Under Maine law, I have not only the authority but the obligation to act. I will follow the Constitution and the rule of law as directed by the courts.” Following a ruling by the Colorado Supreme Court, Maine is now the second state to remove Donald Trump from its ballots.

The 14th Amendment states that anyone who engaged in an insurrection after taking an oath to protect the Constitution is disqualified from ever holding public office again.

One Maine Republican legislator is vowing to impeach the Secretary of State because while engaging in an insurrection shouldn’t disqualify a person, following the Constitution should. State Rep. John Andrews called it “hyper-partisanship on full display,” while totally missing the irony of calling for an impeachment of a member of the opposite party for doing something he doesn’t like.

Other goons, like Catturd on Xshitter, posted photos of the Secretary of State, which is code for fellow goons to threaten and harass, if not engage in violence against her. Donald Trump also made sure to post her photo on “Truth” Social.

After her office received multiple threats from MAGAts, Bellows stated Friday evening, “My obligation is to the Constitution and the rule of law. It’s the Constitution and the rule of law that make our Democratic Republic so great. No one should be threatened for doing their job. I hope those people who are engaging in angry and threatening communications consider the impact of their words and actions.”

Maine Republican Senator Susan Collins said, “Maine voters should decide who wins the election, not a secretary of state chosen by the Legislature.” Collins voted to convict Trump during his impeachment trial for the insurrection, so this is weird. She voted to remove Trump from power and bar him from ever serving again but has issues about him being removed from ballots.

Maine’s other Senator, Independent Angus King said that the decision to keep Trump out of the White House “should rest with the people as expressed in free and fair elections.”

Well did these two senators read what’s expressed in the United States Constitution? Did they watch what happened on January 6, 2021?

Donald Trump tried to stay in office after the voters rejected him. He refused to leave office peacefully. He pushed disinformation and refused to concede. He sent militant white nationalist terrorist goons to attack the Capitol while Congress was certifying the election, a duty mandated by the Constitution. Donald Trump tried to overturn an election by threatening state officials, installing fake electors, and through a violent mob. Donald Trump attempted to become an unelected dictator. The only people who dispute any of this are MAGAts who base their opinions on bullshit.

Based on the Constitution, Donald Trump should be removed from every ballot in the nation. He’s a traitor who attacked our nation.

You have to be a real dingy to deny that.

  1. Not a new idea, but I will restate that there are a lot of other people out there who should not be allowed to run. Based on that I wish all MAGAts a piss-poor New Year. To everyone else I wish a Great New Year, and may your future be Trumpless!

      1. Where, where?

To expect logic or consistency from the Mainiac senatorial delegation is absurd. They both voted in favor of impeachment. Now they are opposed to the application of the Constitution. The voters will decide their fates, if the MAGAts don’t get them first.
