Republicans are looking to vote on an impeachment inquiry which will open a formal investigation on President Biden for a possible impeachment in the near future. The only thing they don’t have is evidence.
I’d say all they have is sizzle and no steak, but there’s not even any sizzle. It’s a wild goose chase missing a goose. What they do have a snipe.
When I was a kid, my sister, cousins, friends, and I would be sent on snipe hunts by our parents while camping or other get-togethers. We didn’t know what a snipe looked like or anything else about it. I always assumed it was a type of flightless bird that would kill you while attempting to catch it. In case it was just a Southern thing and you don’t know what it is, it’s nothing. There’s no such thing as a snipe. It was just the adults’ way to get the kids out of their hair while they hung out together drinking.
Here, the Republicans were sent on a snipe hunt and are now asking the rest of the House to authorize a larger snipe hunt. Guess what they’re going to come back with.
There is absolutely zero evidence that President Biden has any business dealings with his son or brother, has taken money from a foreign government, or ever taken a bribe. And even if they do find that President Biden took money from a foreign government while he was NOT in office, that’s not a crime, but they’re not going to find that either.
At this very moment, Donald Trump is publicly doing business with Saudi Arabia (and probably many other nations). Donald Trump did business with foreign governments while he was president (sic). Jared Kushner took $2 billion from Saudi Arabia shortly after leaving his government position. Ivanka had patents in China WHILE she was working as an advisor (sic) to the president (sic), her father. Not only did Republicans choose not to care about corruption during the Trump presidency (sic), but they also chose not to care about nepotism.
There’s not even a cold trail of corruption that leads to President Biden. To impeach the president, you have to have evidence of high crimes or misdemeanors. They don’t even have a parking ticket for President Biden. This is a witch hunt without a witch…unless you count the hunters.
And even the stunts with Hunter are coming up empty for House Republicans. The only reason the House should be investigating a private citizen is if there’s evidence that leads to corruption by the president. There is none. And even the government’s case against Hunter will probably fail.
The Trump-appointed U.S. Attorney made a deal with Hunter which a Trump-appointed judge refused…so then the Attorney General appointed Weiss to a Special Counsel who then indicts Hunter for illegally buying a gun and for tax fraud. So, why were the crimes low enough to make a plea agreement before but now have changed to indictments that can put Hunter in prison for up to 17 years?
It should be noted how hypocritical it is that Republicans are upset about someone purchasing a gun and not paying his taxes.
After Hunter’s defense points out to a jury that this investigation began five years ago under a politicized Trump DOJ, that the gun charge may violate Hunter’s Second Amendment rights, and the tax charges may be too heavy because Hunter has paid those taxes, the jury might find it too political and a waste of time. Also, the two trials will be in blue Delaware (Biden’s home state) and blue Los Angeles. Good luck to David Weiss with that shit.
If Hunter Biden’s name was Hunter Trump, there would not be any investigation or indictments.
Hunter was subpoenaed by the House and showed up to the Capitol to testify today, but only if the deposition is public. House Republicans are refusing and the guys who refused to testify after receiving congressional subpoenas from the Jan. 6 Committee are threatening to hold Hunter in contempt for refusing a congressional subpoena. What are Republicans trying to hold? Are they afraid of Hunter Biden?
If James Comer and other Republican goons can make inaccurate statements about Hunter and his father, the President of the United States, along with telling lies and spreading conspiracy theories, all in public, then they should allow a deposition with Hunter to be in public as well. As much as I don’t want to hear Jim Gym Jordan barking during another hearing, this deposition should be public.
If this goes before a judge, I hope he throws out the contempt charge because it’ll be revealed that Congress has no business issuing a subpoena to a private citizen about ongoing criminal cases. Hunter can go to the deposition and refuse to say anything because he has the right not to incriminate himself.
When Democrats opened impeach inquiries (plural) into Trump, there was evidence. There was a tape recording of Trump extorting a foreign leader. There were witnesses to this. For the second one, we all saw January 6. We all heard Trump incite his terrorists. We all read his tweet that it “would be wild.” We saw his tweet attacking Mike Pence during the riot. We all witnessed him sit on his hands and not call his people off for hours or send in the military to stop the riot. There were multiple witnesses. There was evidence. That evidence has been used to indict Trump and several of his goons. Currently, he’s facing 91 criminal charges. The point is, there were reasons to open impeachment inquiries into Trump.
Democrats did NOT open an impeachment inquiry with empty hands. That’s what the Republicans are doing today. They’re ready to impeach President Biden without a crime. Marjorie Taylor Greene submitted articles of impeachment on President Biden’s first day in office before he had a chance to commit a crime.
Maybe this impeachment attempt is good news for President Biden because it shows that a lot of them are afraid they can’t beat him in 2024.

But even still, Republicans have nothing on Biden. But then, they don’t care about a conviction, all they care about is besmirching his name. If you’re a Republican, besmirch means to dirty or smear, usually maliciously.

Good thing you defined the word besmirching because I’m sure they have never seen it nor know what it means. They prove how ignorant they are on a daily basis.

๐ Which is why I felt the need to define it. I have this need to educate a MAGAt every once in a while. Otherwise most of what I write would be “over their heads” — in bright flashing lights.
