You know what they say. It’s OK if a Republican does it. But, have you tried the Trump whine? Apparently, it tastes best through $15.00 straws (for a pack of ten) with Trump’s name on them, and not those paper liberal straws.

In waging a war against four Democratic congresswomen, each being a minority, Trump argues that they’re criticizing America and nobody’s going to do that “on my watch.” But, Trump criticized America on the very first day of his watch.

During his inauguration, that was not the most attended or viewed ever, he described the condition of the nation as “American carnage.”

In fact, Trump’s criticism of America goes back farther. He has said we’re a “laughingstock” and that our leaders are “stupid.” When he launched his campaign, he said the United States “is becoming a third-world country.”

He even questioned American exceptionalism, something Republicans accused Obama of not believing in. Trump said in 2013, “Other nations and other countries (sic) don’t want to hear about American exceptionalism. They’re insulted by it, and that’s what Putin was saying.”

We shouldn’t overlook his praise of Putin over Obama in his criticism of America. When told that Putin was a “killer” in 2017 during an interview with Bill O’Reilly which aired before the Super Bowl (an American tradition), Trump said, “You think our country’s so innocent?” He literally insulted America while praising and defending the Russian president who had attacked our nation.

Trump has accused the Democratic women known as The Squad of insulting the country. Going after Ilhan Omar, who is a Somali refugee and has been an American citizen longer than Melania, Trump seems a target his base will love to hit. She’s female, brown, a refugee, and Muslim. Trump has even referenced a conspiracy theory created on right-wing hate sites that she married her brother so he could enter the country. Never mind the fact that if she had a brother who needed to enter the country, he could have done so under the same laws Melania’s parents used to become citizens, which is chain migration. Republicans are idiots.

Trump accused Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, who was born in the Bronx, of calling Americans “garbage.” Of course, that’s a lie. She has never said any such thing but now it’s true to the Trump cultists (again, if you’re drinking the Kool-Aid, try the straws). In 2013, Trump tweeted, “If we don’t clean up OUR COUNTRY of the garbage soon, we are just going to do a death spiral!”

Trump never fails to project. Trump has a long history of insulting America. But perhaps his greatest insult is saying people should go back to where they came from if they’re not happy here. Did you hear Republicans during the Obama era? They spent the entire eight years complaining, lying, and none of them left. Rush Limbaugh even promised to bail to Costa Rica if Obamacare passed. Guess what he didn’t do. Leave! Of course, Costa Rica also has a national health care system but again, Republicans are idiots.

We have a long history of complaining in this country. Every political campaign is based on complaining about this country. No one has ever run a campaign on “It’s all awesome and I’m not going to change anything.” Everyone campaigns on changing America. Trump’s campaign slogan literally says “America is not great.” To say people should leave this country if they don’t like it is an insult to what we stand for. It’s an insult to our Constitution which guarantees the right to complain about this country. Complain away. It’s constitutionally protected. What Trump wants to make illegal is criticism of Trump.

A bigger insult along with damage to this country is basing a campaign message on hate. Telling a person of color to “go back to where you came from” is racist. It’s a failed argument to say it’s not. If you don’t believe it’s racist, go out and try it to someone’s face. In the workplace, it’s illegal (fact). Trump racist message is an insult to America.

And a bigger insult to America is voting for Trump.

Trump is a living, breathing, great big orange bag of lies and treason that’s an insult to this nation on a daily basis. He insults it and he wants to tear it down. But you know what.

Not on my watch.

  1. trump is a master at projection.
Everything bad he has to say, which is constantly, he is really saying it about himself and his horrible nightmare of an administration.
