As pro-Palestinian protests erupt on college campuses across the nation once again, Speaker Mike Johnson decided to make a pilgrimage to Columbia University to take action. Yes, I too was disappointed to discover he went to the university and did not defect to Colombia the nation, especially when I found out Elise Stefanik was with him. C’mon, guys. They have really good coffee…or cocaine if that’s your thing.
The thing is though, Magic Mike did not go to the University to calm things down. No, Mikey Mike went to Columbia to see if he could somehow make things worse. In fact, he got booed by the students which was fun to hear. He told the students, “Enjoy your free speech,” the same free speech he wants to take away from them. It’s not like these peaceful protesters are tourists walking through the Capitol on January 6. These kids are pro-Palestinians.
Mike says the president of Columbia should resign if she can’t make these kids stop protesting, who are demanding that the school stop all financial partnerships with the nation of Israel until it stops bombing babies, hospitals, humanitarian aid convoys, journalists, etc, etc. Never mind that stopping college students, especially in New York City, from protesting is almost as hard as stopping Donald Trump from farting, falling asleep, lying, exhibiting fascist tendencies, etc, etc.
Out of all the schools with protests, why did Mike Johnson and his gaggle of goons choose Columbia for their hater-op? I’m sure the president’s name Minouche Shafik didn’t have anything to do with it. I’m sure they’d still have chosen Columbia if her name was Whitey McJergurson. Right?
Mikey might want to be careful with calling for the resignation of a university president or he may come off as ridiculous as Marjorie Taylor Greene, who’s calling for his resignation.
There is zero basis for Moscow Marjorie’s attempt to oust Mike Johnson as Speaker other than he did his job by passing legislation to help Ukraine defend itself from an illegal Russian invasion. And there’s no justification to call for President Shafik’s resignation. Mike Johnson is only using this to score political points with a hate base. He’s as much of a troll with this as Marjorie Taylor Greene.
Columbia by the way, is the institution that awards the Pulitzer Prize for journalism. Hint, hint. Hello? Is this thing on? Thump, thump, thump. I’ll shut up now.

I don’t understand how protesting Israeli bombing of Gaza is Anti-Semitic. Certainly, there are some Anti-Semitic protesters amongst the group -there always are – but protesting what Netanyahu is doing is not Anti-Semitic. Just like protesting Biden or Trump is not Anti-American. I bet a lot of homeless people have joined campus protests too. It’s a safe place to pitch a tent. At least this was true when I was at Berkeley.
Also, I don’t understand Magats blaming college professors for instigating protests. College students rarely listen to people older than them who aren’t grading them or giving them money. The nice weather has more to do with the protests than professors.

Except that President Shafik disgraced herself in front of the modern HUAC and called the NYPD to break up a peaceful demonstration, I agree that both MTG and Mike Johnson were attempting to exploit the situation that has arisen on many campuses by their denunciations. Elise Stefanik, a Harvard graduate, may be the worst of the bunch. She’s an exemplor of Macchiavelian self-aggrandisement. Harvard should request its degree back. She is without shame in her hypocrisy.
