Baby, It’s Iowa Outside

Here’s your cartoon for this week’s CNN Opinion Newsletter. Please sign up to get these in your inbox every Sunday

I think I submitted seven ideas to CNN last Friday and this was my favorite. I decided if they didn’t want it then I would still draw it and send it to my clients (editors LOVE weather cartoons), which is what I did with today’s and yesterday’s cartoons. And yeah, I normally don’t like weather cartoons but this one was fun.

I didn’t pull a Procreate trick for all the snowflakes. I drew each one. After coloring the cartoon on the second layer, I had to go back and erase the color from each snowflake that was in front of the house. As Governor Lepetomane said in Blazing Saddles, “Work, work, work, work, work, work, work.”

Feel free to count the snowflakes.

  1. And, despite low the voter turnout is, even as, all the, candidates, don’t get over half of the votes, there will, still be someone, elected, at the end of, the, elections. And, if we don’t go out in, inclement weather, that would mean that, we’d, increased the chance of, the one we don’t want to see in office, getting, elected, so, we still, put those, heavy coats, mittens, gloves, earmuffs, and, head out…
