New House Speaker Mike Johnson wants the January 6 tapes to be like Japanese porn with every terrorist face, and other body parts blurred out. Johnson (speaking of porn) reasons that blurring their faces will help prevent them from being prosecuted by the Justice Department.
speaking at a press conference, Johnson said, “We have to blur some of the faces of persons who participated in the events of that day because we don’t want them to be retaliated against and to be charged by the DOJ.”
He added that he didnโt want the Houseโs release of thousands of hours worth of security footage from Jan. 6, to be released in batches over the coming months, to cause insurrectionists any more โconcerns and problemsโ than theyโve already faced. Well, boo-flipping-hoo. Cry me a river, terrorists.
Johnson and other Republicans like Marjorie Taylor Greene aren’t even trying to hide that they support terrorists. When Republicans criticize Hamas and accuse Democrats of supporting them, they don’t really care about terrorism, just who’s doing the terrorism. It’s like the accusations that Hamas is raping its kidnap victims. Republicans don’t care about rape and other assaults of women, only who’s doing the raping. Republicans only care about rape and terrorism when they can use it for political points.
A spokesgoon for Johnson released a statement trying to backtrack and clarify what the Speaker actually said, writing that his boss was mistaken on the reasoning for the blurred faces, insisting that the decision to conceal identities was to protect rioters from harassment by the public, not from prosecution by the DOJ, who already has the raw footage. Except that’s the very reason he gave, so the DOJ can’t prosecute them.
The goon wrote, โFaces are to be blurred from public viewing room footage to prevent all forms of retaliation against private citizens from any non-governmental actors.”
First off, the people who attack, bully, and attempt to kill people over politics tend to be the types of people whose faces you’re blurring out. The last time a liberal stalked someone to attack, threaten, or intimidate, it was the guy out for Justice Brett Kavanaugh and he called the police to come and get him. Even most of our fringe lunatics are courteous. Theirs mail pipe bombs and engage in mass shootings.
Second, how bad is it that you’re still trying to protect the terrorists even after the DOJ has the footage of their faces? This entire plan to release footage from January 6 is in itself a defense of the terrorists. What does it say about the Republican Party when its demographic, the people it’s appealing to, are terrorists?
And don’t make any mistakes about it. The people who attacked the Capitol on January 6 were not protesters or tourists. They weren’t Antifa or Black Lives Matter. They weren’t goaded by the FBI. They were terrorists. They’re terrorists just like Hamas and al-Qaida. The very definition of terrorism is the use of intentional violence and fear to achieve political or ideological aims.ย How does that not describe the Jan. 6 terrorists? They intentionally used violence to achieve a political and ideological goal. That’s terrorism, even if the “participants” are unorganized and stupid.
Ashley Babbitt was NOT a patriot. She was a terrorist. The officer who shot and killed her did so to protect the United States of America. The officer who shot Ashley Babbitt is a patriot.
Instead of calling them terrorists or even insurrectionists, Mike Johnson described them as “persons who participated in the events of that day.” The events of that day were terrorism and the “persons who participated” were white nationalist terrorists trying to stop the certification of the election their leader lost, overturn the election, and install an Oompa-Loompa dictator.
The Republican Party went from being the Law-and-Order Party to the Protect-Terrorists Party.
What’s really blurry is the patriotism of the Republican Party.

No, it’s very clear that if they don’t get what they want, they will try to overthrow the government and install their own people in their place. It’s about the only way they can continue to hold onto power in light of their dwindling numbers and popularity. Patriotism has given way to Nationalism, and in their case it’s what they call Christian Nationalism, or Nat-C’s for short.
