Tangled

It only took a little over four hours for a jury to find FTX cofounder Sam Bankman-Fried guilty on all seven counts of fraud and conspiracy. There were two counts of wire fraud and five counts of conspiracy that ranged from commodities fraud to laundering money. The victims were customers of FTX, lenders to Alameda Research (the prop trading firm, also owned by SBF), and outside investors. SBF lied to his customers and investors and spent over $10 billion of their money as though it was his personal piggy bank.

In three and a half years, FTX went from being worth over $32 billion to worthless.

U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York Damian Williams delivered a statement after the verdict saying that the SBF case should be “a warning to every fraudster who thinks they’re untouchable, that their crimes are too complex for us to catch, that they are too powerful to prosecute, or that they are clever enough to talk their way out of it if caught. Those folks should think again, and cut it out.”

Attorney General Merrick Garland said, “This case should send a clear message to anyone who tries to hide their crimes behind a shiny new thing they claim no one else is smart enough to understand.”

And that brings us to Donald Trump and parallels to the SBF case. While SBF’s case was federal and the current case against Trump for fraud is civil, they’re both in New York City. Both believed they were too powerful and clever to be prosecuted. Both claim that their “businesses” are too complicated for people to understand. But it’s easy to understand that when you lie to people and steal their money, you’re a thief.

It’s easy to understand that you’re committing fraud when you claim a 10,000-square-foot penthouse is 30,000 square feet. It’s easy to understand that you’re lying when you state property worth $18 million is worth over $1 billion. It’s easy to understand that when you inflate property values to get lower interest rates on loans, you are committing fraud.

It’s easy to understand that everything Donald Trump says is a lie. It’s easy to understand that Donald Trump, who operated a fake charity he used as his personal piggy bank and a fake university that sold worthless degrees is a grifter and a fraud.

Donald Trump lies about the size of everything from his property, his wealth, his intellect, his accomplishments, his height, his weight, his fingers, and his…

Sam Bankman-Fried is facing life in prison for his crimes. Donald Trump should be facing the same sentence.

  1. Wish trump were tried and convicted when he was young. Now he is an old, demented, balding hair plug comb over. Better late than never I suppose. Crossing my fingers and hoping he gets convicted for something and at least spends a little of his time left in a prison cell.

  2. The guy who just used “witch hunt” is accusing me of spewing “old, tired talking points.” Obviously, you’re too stupid to comment on my blog. Stick to licking Donald Trump’s crusty orange ball sack, MAGAt.

  3. Then get your eyes examined. Anyone who fails to see the threat Trump poses to this nation is betraying it. Derangement is following Trump. What’s vile is following Trump. Get your treason off my site, traitor.
