Politics For Gobblers

cjones11212016

I know several of my clients will want a Thanksgiving cartoon this week. Sometimes I just ignore that as I’m not a fan of holiday-cliche cartoons. They can be so boring. Worst than sports cartoons. Blah! But I didn’t mind doing this one as I’ve been doing a lot of mean cartoons lately…or forever. My next cartoon will be mean.

I’ve discovered a lot of people, even my readers, love these type of cartoons way more than I do.

I don’t have to worry about the family Thanksgiving thing since I don’t have family in Virginia. If someone did invite me for Thanksgiving they probably wouldn’t be Trump fans so I’d be in the clear.

Did you like this cartoon? Want to help a cartoonist make a living? Look to the right of this page and make a donation through Paypal. I need to buy pens, paper, sandwiches, and dog food. The starving cartoonist and his Beagle appreciates it. If you’ve donated in the past, THANK YOU!!!

  1. I’m 99% certain that no one in my family is/was/would ever be a Trump supporter (we’re all pretty blue). But, there’s always the one rogue Uncle who’s unpredictable. & a total jerkwad.

Where ever & with whoever you end up with on Thursday, Mr. Jones, I hope you have a wonderful Turkey Genocide day. 😉

      1. I’m really sorry about your family & how much they (apparently) suck. My Dad has a really good policy for getting along with people, especially at family functions: Don’t talk religion, don’t talk politics.

That doesn’t stop family members from being a**holes, unfortunately. I’m running into one such individual on Thursday.

    1. I’m really sorry that you had to cut ties with your family members. But, it was probably for the best. You’re probably really attached to the sanity, integrity, & morals you’d have to give up for people who happen to share some of your DNA. I know how it goes, unfortunately. 😦

I think it’s great you still talk to your niece. & it’s even better that she manages to think for herself. Too many people saying “It’s just how I was raised” lately. Like that erases s***ty behavior.

      1. She’s very intelligent and does think for herself. She found her own way in that, at least I don’t think I was in influence there. She just did. She lives in the deep South too. Come to think of it, she and I might be the only two in my family who did go to college. Hmmm.

      2. There are intelligent people in the deep South. Like Trae Crowder. He’s hilarious (if you like cursing in Southern drawl) & very smart.

I found something interesting – I didn’t learn critical thinking until I got to college. I mean that literally. What I knew as “critical thinking” was the exact opposite, in fact. My experience with critical thinking was the section at the end of my high school history textbook chapters. It was questions that were a (very obvious) re-wording of something written earlier in the chapter, missing one key fact we had to fill in. *rolls eyes*

Totally off-topic, my bad. You should be very proud of her. She sounds lovely, & she’s lucky to have you with whom to talk. I’m guessing that her calls & visits home can be stressful (to say the least).

  2. Let’s face it, 2016 should kick itself in the nuts! The thought of talking about Trump and his vile nature and beliefs will not be happening this Holiday in my home. There are some within our family that are alt religious and alt right; we see them little and talk to them less. Your cartoons are becoming absolute favorites and after the Holidays we plan to buy several.

Enjoy your Holidays brave soldier of cartoon land;)
