Boy Toys

When you hear Republicans talk about the case of Fani Willis and her relationship with her lead prosecutor, Nathan Wade, you would believe it’s entirely about sex. It’s not.

Republicans used to make a lot of noise about politicians’ sex lives if those politicians were Democrats. Remember all the attacks on Bill Clinton? Yes, Cinton was horny. Yes, Clinton was unfaithful. No, having sex with another consenting adult is not illegal, even when it’s infidelity. Even North Carolina Senator John Edwards impregnating another woman while his wife was fighting cancer wasn’t illegal. This all changed when Donald Grab-Them-By-The-Pussy Trump who has five children from three wives came along. As it turns out, when Republicans were talking about how important family values were to them, they were lying, just like when they talk about debt, religion, and patriotism. As the Thompson Twins sang, lies, lies, lies, yeah.

Now, they’re back trying to talk about sex and making it appear that if you have a sex life, then you can’t prosecute Donald Trump for trying to steal an election and violate the rights over voters. There was a cartoon by an anonymous MAGAt blaming Willis for delaying the trial because she was having so much sex, even the courtroom (I’m not providing a link to it because fuck that guy). MAGAts suck at humor and typically aren’t intelligent enough to understand the details and complexities of the issues they talk about. Yes, Marjorie Taylor Greene, Hunter Biden has a penis. What of it? A more truthful representation of what’s happening in Fulton County is from my buddy Mike Luckovich (who works and lives in Georgia) showing that the defense teams believe the “attempted overthrow of the election” can wait until we find out when the Willis/Wade affair began.

That’s the gist of this trial before the trial. It’s not sex that’s important, it’s conflict of interest. Did Fani Willis profit from hiring Nathan Wade? Were they having an affair before she hired him? The defense, the people on trial for trying to steal the election and NOT Fani Willis or Nathan Wade, has to prove a conflict of interest. So far, they have not and their case is falling apart.

The goal for the defense is to have Willis removed from the case. Not only would that be a huge delay, it could even get the trial thrown out by the new team the state would pick to prosecute. Since this is in Georgia, which is controlled by Republicans, that could happen. Republicans don’t seek justice. They believe prosecuting someone for trying to steal an election, inciting an insurrection, and stealing classified documents is weaponizing the justice system politically.

Republicans claim the criminal trials of Donald Trump are attempts by Democrats to steal the 2024 election, gaslighting that Donald Trump is on trial for trying to steal the 2020 election.

If the defense can’t get Willis thrown out, they can at least delay the trial. Does that matter in a case that’s not federal? If Trump does win the presidency, God forbid, he can have the federal cases thrown out by whichever goon he appoints to head the Justice Department (I’m thinking William Barr on crack). He may also attempt to pardon himself. But he can’t toss out the state cases like the one in New York City and this one in Fulton County, Georgia. He can’t pardon anyone, including himself, in state cases. But, he can possibly delay until after the election. A conviction before the election could possibly sway voters and some polls show it could.

What would happen if Trump is convicted in Georgia after he’s president (sic)? I’m not sure. Can a state arrest a sitting president? What happens if Trump is sentenced before the election? A candidate can still run for president from prison (true and it’s been done) but no president has ever served while in jail. Of course, no president has ever had that concern because we’ve never had a president as corrupt as Donald Trump. Trump is the first because he is the most corrupt president in our history.

Donald Trump called Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger after the presidential election in Georgia was confirmed. It had been recounted and no fraud was found. Trump demanded Raffensperger “find” 11,780 votes. Donald Trump was trying to get the state’s top election official to overturn the election without grounds. This was a crime.

Fani Willis’ sex life and President Biden’s age doesn’t matter. I don’t care who Fani Willis is knocking boots with or if Joe Biden can’t remember the capital of Delaware (it’s Dover). What matters is that a criminal who tried to steal the last election is trying to sieze power and take over the country. Hopefully, he’s stopped in Georgia. The reason I’m not advocating that he be stopped on the ballot is because he shouldn’t be on any ballot.

The Devil went down to Georgia and his name is Donald Trump.

  1. Thank you for this cartoon! I’m thoroughly disgusted by what is happening with this case. Fani Willis’s sex life has no more to do with this case than tRump’s does. I can’t believe they’re even listening to this crap in a court of law.
