The situation in Yemen is very complicated which means Republicans, who probably couldn’t find Yemen on a map or even know how to pronounce it, don’t understand it.
Yemen is currently in a Civil War between the government and the Supreme Political Council which are Houthi rebels. The government is backed by Saudi Arabia, the United States, and most of the civilized world. The Houthis are backed by Iran, North Korea, and Hezbollah. But wait, there’s more. The Islamic State is a part of this as well as al-Qaida. They’re fighting everybody. There have been allegations that al-Qaida is being funded by Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and Iran, though all three nations deny this. The war has been going on since 2014 and with this many combatants and it being a proxy war between Saudi Arabia and Iran, it’s going to remain a mess for a very long time.
Saudi Arabia isn’t just financing the war but has taken part in bombing campaigns in Yemen along with eight other Arab nations. Humanitarian groups claim that over 377,000 people have been killed including over 85,000 children. It’s hard to find good guys on either side of this war. The United States has stopped providing logistical support but will continue to sell Saudi Arabia weapons.
As if the Houthis don’t have enough to deal with in its Civil War against the Yemeni government, ISIS, and al-Qaida, they’ve started attacking ships in the Red Sea. Why? They say it’s in support of their brothers in Gaza and won’t stop until Israel ends its siege of the strip. The Houthis claim they’re only targeting ships with direct links to Israel, but that’s a bunch of Houthi bullshit. This can affect the world’s economy. Oil prices have already risen because of the attacks.
Shipping is expensive. The Red Sea is a shortcut between Asia and Europe. If you can’t go through the Red Sea and Suez Canal, the only other option is to go around the entire continent of Africa which means you go south along the eastern side of the continent and start going north on the western side after passing the Cape of Good Hope. This adds about ten days to the trip and about $3,000 for each shipping container. What can we do about this? Instead of letting a bunch of radical fucknut terrorists destabilize the world’s economy because it gives them shits and giggles, you take them out.
On Thursday, The United States and the United Kingdom began a massive retaliatory strike using warship- and submarine-launched Tomahawk missiles and fighter jets, hitting over a dozen Houthi targets. And naturally, Republicans who claim our enemies are taking advantage of us because of President Biden’s weakness are now calling him a warmonger.
I’d tell the president’s critics that they can’t have it both ways, he’s either a daffodil or a warmonger, but these are Republicans who are only consistent with lies, fear-mongering, and hate.
While the people of Yemen have seen enough war, I totally support the bombing campaign against the Houthis though that doesn’t make me a fan of the Yemeni government or the Saudi-led coalition.
Quite frankly, I’d rather have President Biden who stands up to bullies while increasing the size and strength and NATO than Trump who appeased and sucked up to tyrants like Putin, Kim Jong Un, Rodrigo Duarte, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, and Mohammed bin Salman. Trump even gave Putin a heads-up before bombing a runway in Syria. Later, he abandoned our Kurkish allies in Syria and allowed Turkey to wipe them out.
I don’t want to hear advice on foreign policy from Republicans who enable fascist tyrants.

This is so perfect! I just can’t stand Republicans anymore. I don’t understand how anyone can support Trump or DeSantis, or even Haley. They’re all liars and out for themselves. Thanks for shining your light on them!

All Republicans are interested in is flinging mud at Biden and the Democrats. Consistency of truth does not matter. It’s mud — throw it. They know their MAGAts will believe them, and maybe some others, if they fling enough mud. They are like kids in a sandbox. They need to try to have things their way, even though they have no idea what theiir way is!
Every bit of mud is fair game for them!
