Swifty Strikers

Last Sunday in the NFL, one team beat another by 50 points. The Miami Dolphins beat the Denver Broncos 70-20 yet it still wasn’t the biggest story of the day. No, the biggest story out of the NFL was that Taylor Swift was at a game.

If you don’t know who Taylor Swift is by now, go back under your rock. I have a blog to write.

Taylor Swift was at Arrowhead Stadium watching the Kansas City Chiefs defeat the Chicago Bears. She came to the game with Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce and watched the game from the luxury suite with his mom. Every football analyst talked about Taylor being at the game. CNN is still talking about Taylor being at the game. Even New England Patriots coach Bill Belichick talked about Taylor being at the game.

Taylor Swift is the biggest and hottest star on the planet right now. City officials around the world are pleading with her to bring her Eras tour to their cities because of the economic impact that comes with it. Her tour, which celebrates every era of her 17-year career, is already the biggest tour in history, and it’s only a third way through its run.

And just because she was at the game rooting for Kelce, whom we’re not even sure if they’re officially dating yet (they weren’t holding hands when they left but she did meet his mom), jersey sales for number 87 spiked 400 percent after Sunday. What would a retweet of today’s cartoon by her do for my hits? C’mon, Taylor. Give me a retweet. I’d never shake it off.

The only person who’d give a bigger boost to UAW strikers with a visit than President Joe Biden would be Taylor Swift. Actually, after looking at Biden’s poll numbers, maybe he should get a visit with Taylor Swift.

Music note: I listened to The Commodores, Counting Crows, Corporate T-shirt, and Cowboy Junkies. I was in the C’s. It’s weird I didn’t listen to Taylor. I didn’t even think about it.
