Prez on a Bounty

Congressman Byron Donalds must have some of the dumbest constituents in the country, and that’s saying a lot because he’s from Florida, which has also given us Matt Gaetz.

Dum-Dum Donalds was riding the GOP talking point train of outrage over President Biden’s response to the wildfires in Maui. A few days ago, while he was getting into a car, a reporter shouted a question about the death toll in Maui, which is over 100 now. The president said, “No comment.” Sure, that did sound a bit tone-deaf if you take it out of context. But taking things out of context and creating a brand new one is what Republicans do.

Byron Donalds tweeted (I’m still not on board with “Xing” yet, or whatever Elon wants it called), “Under Trump, you had a president who worked around the clock for the American people. Under Biden, you have a president who is asleep on the job and working with his DOJ to prosecute his political opponents.”

The tweet contains two photos, one of Trump, apparently at a disaster scene in Texas, holding empty buckets with the Red Cross logo. The other photo is of Biden lying in a lounge chair on a beach. Knowing Donalds, the beach photo probably isn’t even recent.

First off, if you think President Biden is “working with” the DOJ to prosecute his political opponents, or “weaponizing” the government, then you are too stupid and dishonest to hold any government position, elected or appointed, even in Florida.

Donald Trump is accused of very real and serious crimes. He tried to overturn an election he lost. This is a big deal and we have seen a lot of evidence. Stupid-ass Lindsey Graham said we should let the voters decide Trump’s fate at the ballot box. No, you fricking ass-kissing lap poodle of an idiot. We should let juries decide. We should force every suspect of a crime to run for president and if he or she loses, that’s their punishment…at least according to Lindsey. I don’t remember any GOP calls for the FBI to stop investigating Hillary Clinton in 2016, and just let the voters decide.

Trump DID attempt to weaponize the government to prosecute his political opponents. He extorted a foreign president with Congressionally-approved military aid for dirt on his political opponent, Joe Biden. His administration began an investigation into Hunter Biden which continues to this day. The Durham investigation, designed to debunk all the Russia stuff, began during his administration and was made into a special counsel in secret. Yes, William Barr didn’t tell anyone for a while. And, it found nothing. Zip, nada, zero.

I keep hearing MAGAts say that each time something comes up about Hunter, either when witnesses testify or another special counsel is created, then new indictments for Trump are announced. Anyone who believes they’re connected or intertwined is as stupid as Byron Donalds. There’s no evidence for this claim. Why would Jack Smith, Alvin Bragg, or Fani Willis give a shit about Hunter Biden? Even if they were being protective of President Biden, there has been zero evidence of any crime by the president. And if you know how difficult it is to put indictments together, then you know there’s no way they’re timed to be released whenever some bullshit about Hunter comes out. If you believe Fani Willis cobbled and pasted a RICO case to come out just when some Hunter news is released, then welcome to Moron City where everyone is the village idiot.

Also, stop comparing these cases because paying late on taxes and trying to overturn an election, and stealing classified documents to impress girls at the Moscow Hooters aren’t comparable.

And if you’re upset over the accusation that President Biden made money from foreign governments but don’t care that Trump actively directed taxpayer money to his properties, and collected income from foreign governments, then it’s not corruption you actually care about.

I also heard a claim from a MAGAt cartoonist, “If you can’t beat Trump, indict him.” Yeah, dumbass, except we have beaten him. Democrats won the 2020 election and even won the popular vote in 2016. Trump is the most beatable opponent for Biden in 2024. Your party is so stupid that it’s about to nominate the worst candidate. Why would you nominate someone going through four trials during the general election campaign? What happens when November 2024 arrives and your guy is in prison?

DeSantis isn’t much of a threat to President Biden either, but he should also be indicted for human trafficking…and maybe another from the Fashion Police for those boots.

Getting back to Republicans’ criticism of President Biden’s response to Maui, if your only comment on Maui is to criticize the president’s no comment, then you’re worse. I’ll tell every Republican just like I’ll tell MAGAt cartoonists, Tom Stiglich and Gary Varvel, you don’t care about the victims of the Maui wildfires any more than you cared about the victims of Hurricane Maria.

When Hurricane Maria devastated Puerto Rico, Donald Trump saw it as an inconvenience. Maria taught Trump three things he didn’t know previously: Puerto Rico is a U.S. territory, it’s an island, and Trump was president (sic) of it at the time. When Trump did visit the island, he tossed paper towels to victims and then got into personal feuds with government officials who criticized his handling of the disaster, and his handling of it was bad. His administration delayed Puerto Rico from receiving over $20 billion of aid. He bickered over the death count, arguing it was in the teens when it was over 5,000. Later, he tried to swap Puerto Rico for Greenland, where hurricanes never hit and there are no nasty Hispanic women to say bad things about. And then he called the prime minister of Denmark “nasty” for not wanting to sell Greenland.

Also, what took Republicans so long to start criticizing President Biden for taking a vacation? The hypocrisy of it is right up their hypocritical alley.

Republicans were all over President Obama for taking vacations and used to lie about how much they cost. But they never cared that George W. Bush spent a month on his Texas ranch, which was where he was when Katrina hit New Orleans. Republicans spent eight years outraged over President Obama playing golf then were silent for four years while Trump played golf.

And when Trump played golf, Trump got paid to play golf. Trump only played golf at Trump clubs, which meant the government had to spend taxpayer money for Trump to stay at Trump properties. Trump even charged the Secret Service to rent golf carts to follow him on his courses. Trump literally charged the Secret Service to protect him while he waddled on his courses and cheated on golf.

It’s estimated that it cost taxpayers over $144 million for Trump to play golf nearly 300 times during at least 150 visits to his shitty resorts. Much of that $144 million went into Trump’s pocket, but you should scream louder about Hunter Biden. President Biden vacationed at his home in Delaware which is not a resort he owns where he gets to charge taxpayers for his vacationing.

If you’re mad that Biden was on vacation during the Maui wildfires, then get angry that Trump was playing golf while covid was killing hundreds of thousands of Americans.

But what has President Biden done for the victims of Maui? I’m glad you asked.

President Biden signed an emergency declaration and ordered federal assets on the island last week, and expressed support for the victims last Thursday before the no-comment comment. Republicans like Byron Donalds are leaving out that Biden said, “Our prayers are with the people of Hawaii, but not just our prayers — every asset we have will be available to them. They’ve seen their home, their business destroyed, and some have lost loved ones. And it’s not over yet.”

As of Monday, there are more than 300 FEMA workers on the ground, and has provided 50,000 meals, 75,000 liters of water, 5,000 cots, and 10,000 blankets to the county government for distribution.

Bident tweeted that FEMA is offering temporary shelter in hotels and motels, federal workers are registering residents for a $700-per-household payment for survivors, and the government is working with community-led groups to reach all residents regardless of language or other barriers, and MAGAt Dana Summers criticized him for that.

The governor of Hawaii (in case you’re Donald Trump, it’s a state), said Biden signed the disaster declaration as soon as it was asked of him.

Donald Trump attacked Biden and the governor of Hawaii, saying in a video message, “To say no comment is oftentimes fine, but to be smiling when you say it, especially against such a tragedy as this, is absolutely horrible and unacceptable.” He accused the governor of “wanting to do nothing but blame it on global warming, and other things that just happen to pop into his head”.

Naturally, Trump’s criticism was delivered just a few yards from his golf course.
