Black Lives Lather

Here’s the thing about the Black Lives Movement a lot of conservatives don’t understand. For centuries, not just decades, centuries, black lives did not mean as much as white lives. It’s gotten to the point where it’s not going to be tolerated anymore, and it shouldn’t be tolerated. So when someone says “all lives matter” and African Americans get upset, some white people don’t understand why they’re upset. Here’s why (as best as a liberal white guy can understand it): When you say “all lives matter”, to interrupt or throw off the BLM slogan, you’re saying let’s forget that and let’s go back to the status quo. You remember the status quo. That was back when the white establishment had 100% of the power unlike today, where the white establishment only possesses 98% of the power.

Bernie Sanders has been trying to change the status quo for over 50 years. Yet for some reason some members of the Black Lives Matter movement, or “supposed” members, have been following him around and harassing him. Last week in Seattle they wouldn’t even let the poor guy speak. Sanders is fighting for wage, health and civil equality and some people don’t want him to speak. You would think those people would be Republicans. Hell, Liberty University, an ultra-conservative institution where students were mandated to attend Ted Cruz’s presidential announcement, has invited Senator Sanders to speak. Sanders is going.

Why are these BLM people trying to shout down someone who wants to shout with them? Why aren’t they protesting where candidates want to discourage, invalidate, counter or ignore their message? They should be shouting at campaign events for Senator Cruz, Marco Rubio, Jeb Bush, Carly Fiorini, Donald Trump, Chris Christie, Mike Huckabee, Scott Walker, Rand Paul, Bobby Jindal, Rick Perry…Hell, even Ben Carson.

Oh that’s right. There aren’t large crowds at those Republican events. The only large crowds so far have been at Sander’s rallies.
