School Phone Ban

This was drawn for the Fredericksburg Advance.

The editor’s note says: Smartphone bans are all the rage right now, with Fredericksburg, Caroline, and King George passing bans in recent weeks. But as we noted recently, bans alone aren’t the magic bullet for all that ails public education. This morning, Clay Jones brings his discerning eye, and keen wit, to this dilemma.

  1. With all the school shootings, I would not want my child to be at school without a phone, that’s for sure. If they abused the privilege of having it, I’d find a way to deal with it, but I’d want them to have one in the even of an emergency.
