Sean “Diddy” Combs has now apologized two days after CNN released a video of him kicking and punching his then-girlfriend Cassie Ventura in a hallway of a hotel in 2016.
In a statement posted on Instagram, Diddy says, “My behavior on that video is inexcusable. I take full responsibility for my actions in that video.”
He added, “I was disgusted then when I did it. I’m disgusted now. I went and I sought out professional help. I got into going to therapy, going to rehab. I had to ask God for his mercy and grace. I’m so sorry. But I’m committed to be a better man each and every day. I’m not asking for forgiveness. I’m truly sorry.”
Yeah, he’s sorry now…after denying it for years. Diddy didn’t find his remorse shortly after the assault because he was still denying it last November when Ventura sued him, accusing him of physical abuse, rape, and sex trafficking. Diddy settled his lawsuit with Ventura within 24 hours of it being filed.
Last November, Diddy’s lawyer said, “Mr. Combs vehemently denies these offensive and outrageous allegations. “Diddy said he was “disgusted” when it happened in 2016, but it seems like he wasn’t that disgusted six months ago. And I was disgusted with Diddy when he “sampled” The Police’s Every Breath You Take in 1997 (which he was sued for by Sting and lost all royalties).
Question: Did Diddy ask for “God’s mercy” before or after he lied in 2023 about assaulting his ex-girlfriend in 2016?
So when did Diddy seek counseling? Was it moments after kicking his girlfriend while she lay on the floor or within the last six months after his lawyer denied the assault? We didn’t get pubic remorse from Diddy until the video surfaced. And why did it take nearly eight years for that video to surface?
In the video, Ventura is trying to get onto an elevator in the hotel when Diddy appears, running after her while wearing a towel. He grabs her by the back of the neck, throws her to the floor, and kicks her several times before dragging her back to his hotel room.
Diddy has faced five other civil lawsuits accusing him of a range of sexual misconduct and other illegal activity. His homes in California and Florida were searched last March as part of a federal investigation carried out by a Department of Homeland Security team that handles human trafficking crimes.
Unfortunately, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office won’t be charging Diddy nor will the LAPD investigate the assault as the statute of limitations has run out.
That means Diddy will be free to give the commencement address next year at Benedictine College, where they welcome women-hating kickers.
By the way: I try to include some diversity in my cartoons, especially with crowd scenes. But there’s not much diversity when I draw a Trump rally or any type of crowd with Republicans. Now, after doing a bit of research before diving into the drawing of this crowd, there’s not much diversity at Benedictine College. It’s a very small conservative school with 1,786 white students in 2021. The number of black students at Benedictive that year was 42 which is less than two percent of enrollment. Don’t yell at me. Here’s my source.

Watch me draw:
He’s an arrogant, disgusting, pig. It infuriates me that he treats women like this and has gotten away with it for years.

That’s how it always goes, you don’t feel sorry until you get caught or get sued for, assaulting someone.

It’s difficult to believe Pizza RAt would attend a place like Benedictine. Otherwise, an excellent commentary. Diddy was never a very good rapper and was raised by a thug to be a thug. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DuGtyiMAWQ0

Thanks for that link – I was laughing out loud at the hot pocket part! LOL! And I learned a lot about Diddy in the process. Scary!

I was completely unaware of Diddy until I saw that clip, other than recent news reports. I was unaware of Josh Johnson and his stand-up until a couple of weeks ago; he can usually get a laugh, if not a guffaw from me. As an older ex-pat, apparently I’m losing touch.

I know about Diddy because my son, who is now 46, listened to him, along with others of that genre. Not my style for sure, but there’s no accounting for the taste of a young man in his teens and 20s! LOL! I’d never heard of Josh until today – and thoroughly enjoyed him! 🙂

When I saw the video for the first time, I had a physical reaction of disgust – even seeing clips of it now still makes me feel sick. But what makes me even more disgusted are all the photos of Cassie Ventura on piece of sh*t Combs’ arm taken at the time of the incident and after – the poor woman had to endure being with him because he held her career and livelihood in his hands (no pun intended). @clayjones – you missed his red crocs!! LOL
