Roughs, Volume 231

I didn’t draw many roughs last week, but here are the ones I did.

I drew this in the evening on May 1 which was a Wednesday. I was trying to get ahead for my CNN Friday. This was also the day after I visited the campus of George Washington University. This did not work. But this did.

I was going for something here but couldn’t stick the landing.

This is the cartoon CNN selected for the newsletter.

I liked this one and one of my friends liked it a little more than the one I went with.

I liked this one but didn’t go with it.

This turned into one of my cartoons full of Easter eggs.

And this turned into a cartoon that made a lot of people scream at me.

Other than Sofa Fort, which of these are your favorites?

  1. I loved the cartoon full of Easter eggs. It’s so much fun poring over those cartoons to find the goodies hidden in plain sight within!

  2. I liked the Time Magazine ‘toon, and the one where he asks if he can pay his fine in Truth Social stock the most. Like SputnikDeb, those Easter eggs are always fun 🙂

  3. I like the protest with the tents one, it brings out the, upset of COLLEGE students’, exactly like during the, Vietnam War era (maybe, wouldn’t know, hadn’ t been living THAT long!), but guessed that, it’s, about the, same level, maybe??? And, this is, the, protest to, oust Biden’s government for, not being on the RIGHT side of, what’s, MORALLY, RESPONSIBLE.

    1. I was 12 years old when the shootings at Kent State happened, and I remember them vividly. We lived in California at the time, but it was major news, and I was old enough to understand and be horrified by it. I also remember footage of the Vietnam war every night on TV when I was seven years old, and asked my Mom whether my younger brothers, five and three, would have to go fight in the war when they were older.
