War Pigs

If Iran’s intention was to cause serious damage to Israel, then we have nothing to fear from them. If they were trying to hit valuable targets last night, then they really suck at warfare. But the thing is, they probably weren’t trying to hit anything of value, including lives.

Sure, Israel with the support of the United States is very good at defending themselves, but are they so good that they can prevent over 300 Iranian missiles and drones from doing any damage? Maybe? Israel claims 99 percent of the drones and missiles were intercepted.

I believe Iran wanted to make a statement without going to war. Recently, Iranian proxies were hitting U.S. targets in the Middle East without taking any lives. After one of their attacks killed three American servicemembers, the attacks stopped. Last night’s attacks started with drones, thought to be slow-moving Shahed-136 models, which took hours to travel from Iran to Israel. This was either to confuse radar systems or to telegraph the attack and give Israel and the US time to shoot them down. There was also a barrage of ballistic and cruise missiles that coincided when the drones were hitting, but none hit their targets.

It’s believed that Iran wanted to attack Israel in a way to inflict little damage while making a huge spectacle. It seems they succeeded.

At this time (Saturday evening), the US is reporting it intercepted over 70 drones and three ballistic missiles.

As I was watching coverage of the Iranian attack Saturday night, I was also scrolling through Twitter/X. There, the goons were blaming President Biden. But President Biden did not kill three Iranian generals in Damascus. Israel did that. Iran responded.

Yes, Iran is a state unfriendly to the U.S. that deports terrorism, but they had to reply to what Israel did. Israel is an ally and we should defend them, but they are not innocent. The Biden administration is now telling Israel that it will not support any offensive action against Iran which is the right call. Help defend Israel, even after they start the fight? Yes. Help them start more fights? Hell no.

We’ve also requested that Israel inform us of any plans to strike Iran. Frankly, they owe us that. We support them financially. We give them weapons. We helped defend them. Any strikes committed by Israel have the potential to bring retaliation against us. Iran says America will share the blame for any attacks committed by Israel. So, Israel should be obligated to inform us of their future war plans. President Biden told Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that Israel achieved a “major victory,” which is a way of saying be happy with what you got and let it go.

Iran says this matter is “concluded,” which means the ball is back in Israel’s court. Of course, this means the “state” of Iran is done while they’ll keep controlling its proxies who attack Israel. This morning, Israel’s war cabinet minister said Israel will “exact a price from Iran.” Iran is promising to retaliate again if Israel retaliates to their first retaliation.

If I didn’t know better, I’d swear that Israel wants war.

Also while scrolling through Twitter, I read the tweets from the cultists and sycophants which were full of lies. They blamed President Biden for the attack claiming Iran never attacked us or Israel while Trump was president (sic). That’s a lie. They said this never would have happened under Trump. That’s another lie. They said Iran was only capable of this attack because President Biden gave them billions. That is another lie. All that is why I brought this cartoon back from the cartoon graveyard.

I drew this cartoon on October 8 in the lobby of the Triton Hotel in San Francisco. It was a Sunday morning and the convention for the Association of American Editorial Cartoonists was over. The lobby was full of cartoonists saying their goodbyes while I sat in a corner drawing this cartoon. It was the day after Hamas’ terrorist attack against Israel. After drawing it, I decided that it was the wrong cartoon for the day. The focus should be more on Hamas and less on Trump. So I shelved the cartoon and wrote another. I think I made the right call.

I had another idea this morning on this “new” conflict but then remembered this cartoon. I dredged it up and decided to go with it. Maybe the focus of the day shouldn’t be on Donald Trump and Jared Kushner, but I think the goons need to be reminded that they bragged about bringing “peace” to the Middle East.

Obviously, they failed.
