Roughs, Volume 203

Most of these were drawn last Friday, October 27.

The election of a new Speaker coincided with another mass shooting. What are the odds? In this country, pretty good. I saved this one for CNN to consider, and did this cartoon for my syndication clients.

I wasn’t going to do any of these Halloween-themed cartoons if CNN didn’t pick one of them, and they didn’t.

Since I didn’t draw a Great Pumpkin cartoon this year, that means I can do one next year. I kinda like this one.

My editor asked for something on Congressman Dean Phillips’ primary challenge to President Biden. I didn’t like this one very much.

My editor liked this one and it became the cartoon for the CNN Newsletter last week.

This rough along with the next one was actually drawn last Monday, October 29. I was having a hard time choosing an idea for Mike Pence dropping out. I was torn between three ideas and I this might be the one I should’ve done.

I couldn’t decide if this was boring or funny, so I eventually went with this cartoon.
