Roughs, Volume 202

This is the second half of the blog of roughs from the last week. I held onto these as they were all contenders to become actual finished and published cartoons. They were drawn around October 19.

This became a finished cartoon. This offended right-wingers on GoComics (how dare you call Republicans Muslims) and ultra-bullying liberals at DailyCos (this is Islamaphobic).

This idea wasn’t as much of a contender as the concept was. I think my focus has now shifted from protests in the Middle East to protests on college campuses. I’m not done with that yet.

I thought I was going to do this one.

I did three other cartoons on Trump’s flippers. After I did a wordy cartoon on Jim Gym Jordan, I felt more comfortable letting this one slip away.

This was the first version that I submitted to my editor last week.

And then after all the mayhem from this week, I submitted it again but in a new drawing. Here’s the completed version.

This is the rough for the cartoon CNN selected last week. I wasn’t even done putting shit into it when it was selected.

And then I did this one for my newspapers.
