Roughs, Volume 171

These roughs were drawn on Thursday, February 16, and Friday, February 17.

I liked this one but I put it aside for the birthday party cartoon, which I also put aside for something else.

I drew this on a Thursday and on Friday, I saw that another cartoonist had used the Pence Fly. But since it wasn’t the same idea and just the same concept, I went ahead and made this into an official cartoon because I liked it.

This was OK but I didn’t love it.

I made this joke in a blog and seriously considered making this an official cartoon. Someone even told me they were resisting the temptation to steal it, and I resisted making it official.

This is another I thought was just OK.

I had every intention to make this into a real cartoon but President Biden’s visit to Ukraine made me draw something else. Maybe I’ll save it for the second anniversary.

I actually kinda like this. Sponge cake is OK for about two bites and then you’re over it. At any rate, you don’t want a spongecake at a birthday party.

And this was last week’s cartoon for CNN.

Which of these are your favorites?
