El Protector

The United States donated three tactical vehicles to Costa Rica’s police forces, and they didn’t pass technical revisions.

The vehicles lack reflective stickers, as they’re all black, so they can operate on night missions. The exhaust system has a grill so people can’t go Beverly Hills Cop on them and insert bananas. There are no mufflers on the vehicles as they don’t make any noise.

After the SWAT type vehicles are made to conform to the nation’s standards, they’ll probably look more like an electric car, and not much use as a tactical vehicle for covert operations.

I drew this cartoon last week for The Costa Rica Star, and we made a video. It’s the first video for them. It’s longer than the videos I’m making now as I produced this one before I decided to go shorter.

Here’s the video.

I want to thank everyone who has donated in the past. Your support helps me continue creating cartoons and columns with a little less stress in my life. Between competing syndicates with much larger resources, timid editors, and Trump supporters who attempt to intimidate the editors who do publish anything that criticizes their idol, it’s a challenge to make a career out of this. So your support (if you can) is appreciated. Want to help me continue to create cartoons and keep doing what I’m doing (pissing off conservatives)? Look to the right of this page and make a donation through PayPal. Every $40 donation will receive a signed print (please specify which print you want or I won’t mail one). All donations will receive my eternal gratitude

  1. I’d like to think that the Costa Rican police don’t need Los Protectores…. From what we saw, the Ticos are very fine and polite and kind people, though I expect tourists anywhere don’t get a complete view of the locals. The only time they are crazy mad is when they are driving.
