Ken Ivory And Plausible Donationability

Here’s this week’s cartoon for The Independent in St. George, Utah.

Ken Ivory is a state representative in Utah. Naturally, he’s a Republican and he’s Mormon. That comes with the territory in Utah, so I hear.

The amount of land in western states that’s owned by the Federal government is a pretty big issue in states like Utah, Arizona, Nevada, Colorado, Montana, etc. The U.S. government owns 60% of Utah. Wow!

So to address this issue, Mr. Ivory has started this “charity” called the American Lands Council and they’ve been going door to door in states asking politicians for money. Now the group is under all sorts of juicy investigations. You can find a lot more from Dallas Hyland’s column from this week’s issue of the Indy.

The most interesting thing to me is that more than half of the money the ALC has raised goes to Mr. Ivory and his wife’s salary. Talking about donating to a worthy cause.

Here’s the rough.
