CLAYTOONZ 
Begin was, indeed, diabolical. He was a member of the Stern gang, responsible for the bombing of the King David Hotel. He was a fascist and founder of the Irgun. While not a Netanyahu – as far as I know, Begin was not corrupt, just evil – he did nothing to reconcile the antagonistic parties that today are still fighting. He made offers to the PLO that always carried poison pills and then denied their wishes to negotiate. Sadat was assassinated by a member of the Muslim Brotherhood. He, also, was not as corrupt as his successors. Carter brought them together and forced them to negotiate at Camp David. It was he, not they, who deserved a Nobel Peace Prize for his efforts.
Carter was the last American president who refused to lie to the American people. For that, they rejected him for a second term. Can you not feel the malaise?
