Please excuse this week’s batch of roughs for arriving late. I was traveling. I think I drew all of these on Friday, August 18.

I kinda liked this one and I thought my editor might go for it. However, we did previously use Andrew Johnson, Franklin Pierce, and James Buchanan in a cartoon for the CNN Opinion newsletter. Sometimes it’s fun to draw dead presidents.

I knew I could write an idea with a peach but this wasn’t it. This was.

I thought I might be drawing something on Trump’s arrest for the newsletter, but that was not to be. I was throwing arrest cartoons at them until I found out what they wanted me to do.

I wasn’t in love with this idea.

I kinda like this one but it’s not very funny.

I thought for sure somebody would do a Hilary/Hillary cartoon for the hurricane, but after not seeing one for two days, I went ahead and did it. Later, my good friend Rob Rogers (excellent cartoonist) did it but in a very different way. I knew I wasn’t the only one that would see that connection.

This is one of those I just wasn’t sure about. I think Michael Ramirez did something on Oher but it wasn’t like this.

I totally intended to draw this one but other shit got in the way, and I know it’s going to be everyone’s favorite in the comments.

This was drawn and published before his arrest and the actual mugshot was taken. I ended up drawing on the mugshot for this week’s CNN Opinion newsletter. Trump had complained that Fox News always made him look “fat and orange.”

This was kind of a warmup rough after I received my assignment to do something on the upcoming Republican debate that we were expecting would be Trumpless.

This was my favorite on the debate and it got accolades out the woohoo.

And this is the one CNN selected.

And this is me throwing shit at the wall trying to get something to stick.
So which of these are your favorites?
