Jenner And The Media, Cartoon For The Daily Dot

Here’s this week’s cartoon for The Daily Dot.

Much has been said by the media of the way Caitlyn Jenner looks. In the past when the media talked about Bruce Jenner they talked his accomplishments. Yes we live in a sexist society.

Of course I’m the same guy that drew a cartoon earlier this week with “jiggly” Republicans.

I also think it’s interesting that some people are upset by the coverage. A lot of people are even posting photos of veterans on social media in response while stating “here’s a real hero.” Talk about two things that don’t have anything to do with the other. You know these people would never stop for a homeless vet.

It’s funny that a person being themselves is scary and freaky to so many people. There’s a lot of real dangers to be afraid of in this country. This isn’t one of them.

Here’s the rough.

  1. What do you honestly expect from the media? Bruce “unveiled” his new look, not his accomplishments. He changed his appearance, had surgery. It’s all physical. You really think the media is to blame for covering it? He was on the cover of a magazine. Your cartoon makes him look like the victim. He posed. He didn’t meet with Time magazine, he posed for a magazine cover. He made it about appearance and the media just covered it.
