What’s his beef with the Holocaust Museum? The Tangerine Tyrant thinks that displaying a history that shows poor and uneducated Jewish peasantry in eastern Europe, and pre-war bourgeois communities in France, Germany and mittel Europe is offensive to history. The presidential cockroach needs to read Kafka. Not just the Metamorphosis, but The Trial and The Castle (I wasn’t particularly wowed by Amerika.) He wants more information about heroic Jews like Bugsy Siegel and Charles Kushner (two famous Jewish criminals) with a thorough displayed. And a laudatory wing set aside for Roy Coen. (He also wants FDR shown as a villain so he can blame the Shoah on the Dems.) I wish the Marx Brothers, Mel Brooks and Woody Allen were all producing contemporary farces.
Soon to follow, the formal apotheosis of Christopher Columbus: Italian Jew; slave holder and misguided toady and enabler of the Reyes Católicos. I wonder what Tom Lehrer might say. Or Don Rickles. “First you get down on you knees, fiddle with your rosaries. Bow your heads with great respect and… genuflect, genuflect, genuflect” – out of context, I know; but the image is appropriate to his desire. He is so completely misguided in this, as in all things, that if he were to need another vote, he won’t be getting it from his latest revisionist proposals. As you can see, I have mixed feelings about the history of the Jews. Going back to Genesis. But I do not have mixed feelings about the history of the Donald. The man has chutzpah, fer sure, but that will only take one as far as legal chambers. Why do I still believe that justice and history will ultimately prevail when history shows us that my hopes are counterfactual. Never again? Then how do you explain Gaza?
