Trump Lies

A Cereal Liar

cjones11192018

The damage Donald Trump has inflicted on this nation in just the past few years will last for generations. Forty years from now, a couple of people will be sitting in a cafe in Paris debating if the United States is still dumb enough to elect a lying, racist, sexist, stupid, juvenile, corrupt reality TV show host.

Trump sycophants with daddy issues believe their deity has restored international respect and prestige to the United States. In reality, he’s brought scorn and ridicule. Donald Trump is an international dumbass.

The sycos are mad at CNN’s Jim Acosta and believe Trump was right to pull his White House press credentials. They accuse him of being a prima donna and disrespecting the president. At the press conference where Acosta infuriated Trump, the reporter prefaced a question about the caravan by pointing out that it’s not an “invasion.” Why did Acosta do this? Because he doesn’t work for Fox News.

It’s a reporter’s job to push back when a politician lies, especially such blatant Trump lies. That’s why Trump goes to the Daily Caller, a wing-nut publication that won’t push back.

Yesterday, Trump gave an interview to the Caller where he again lied about voter fraud in Florida. But, he compounded his usual stupid lie with an even amazingly dumber one. He said, “When people get in line that have absolutely no right to vote and they go around in circles. Sometimes they go to their car, put on a different hat, put on a different shirt, come in and vote again. Nobody takes anything. It’s really a disgrace what’s going on.”

It is a disgrace what’s going on. It’s a disgrace that the president of the United States doesn’t just engage in conspiracy theories but also invents them. It’s a disgrace that the reporters he does talk to don’t call him out on it. But, it gets even dumber.

While arguing for voter ID laws, he said, “If you buy a box of cereal — you have a voter ID. They try to shame everybody by calling them racist, or calling them something, anything they can think of, when you say you want voter ID. But voter ID is a very important thing.”

Trump made the claim last August that you need an ID to buy groceries as if going to Kroger is the same as entering The Viper Room. But, needing an ID to buy cereal? Yeah, maybe if you’re a silly rabbit because Trix are for kids.

And changing shirts to vote again? The pollsters would have to be really stupid to be unable to recognize your face because you changed shirts. That’d only work in a Republican primary.

Trump should bounce his lies off a committee, so they can take a vote on whether the lie is too stupid for a president to tell. Of course, any lie Trump tells passes the smell test for his followers, but how about lies for the rest of us? How about something with a little uncertainty, that’d at least make you Google? Some of us aren’t Tomi Lahren.

But, telling us thousands of illegals in an invading caravan full of Middle Easterners desiring to commit cereal fraud isn’t going to swing it. That’s just a Honey Bunches of Bullshit.

Troops Meet The Caravan Invasion

cjones11022018

One sure way to tell that the caravan “invasion” isn’t dangerous to the United States is that Republicans have to lie about it. If it’s actually so bad, then why can’t they be honest and only deliver the facts?

Trump campaigned on hatred toward immigrants. He accused Mexico of sending us rapists and murderers when he announced his campaign. It’s red meat for a base of stupid people who believe immigration is the greatest danger facing our nation, and not say, a friend to white supremacists in the White House.

Republicans and Donald Trump tell us it’s being funded by George Soros and Democrats. That’s the same rhetoric a white supremacist terrorist used to justify killing eleven Jews in a Pittsburgh synagogue last Saturday.

Trump has claimed there are gang members and even people from the Middle East in the caravan. He and the GOP state it’s a national emergency and an invasion. Now, they’re even claiming they’re bringing diseases like smallpox.

Trump has ordered 5,200 troops to man the border to protect us from this invasion. That is an abuse of our military. Our troops should not be used as election props. The caravan is over 2,000 miles away from our border, and they’re traveling by foot. So, why are the troops at the border now? Let’s see if they’re still there after Election Day.

This is not an invasion. These are mostly women and children seeking asylum. Do we really need an army to meet mothers wearing flip-flops and carrying babies? Trust me. After walking over 2,000 miles, they’re not going to feel like fighting.

As for carrying diseases, the last naturally occurring case of smallpox was in 1977.

There is no proof that gangs are in this caravan. There’s also not any proof that Muslims from the Middle East are trying to gain entry to the U.S. from Guatemala. Buy a map, idiots.

Republicans also keep fluctuating the numbers in the caravan. Some put it as high as 14,000. Yesterday, it was reported the number has decreased to less than 4,000. Most people in the caravan will not make it to the U.S. border. The last caravan was in April, and only about 150 migrants from that caravan made it to our border. We need the army to meet 150 migrants?

Another point you don’t hear much about is that these migrants are coming here legally. If you listen to Republicans, they’re all either sneaking or just crashing through Trump’s nonexistent border wall (which he claims is under construction but it’s not). These people will apply for refugee status. They have a legal right to do that. If someone walks over 2,000 miles to request asylum, we should hear them out. Not every immigrant can pose naked in a magazine and catch the attention of a billionaire who likes to trade up with wives.

Trump is also threatening to end birthright citizenship by executive order. He can’t do that. That’s protected in the Constitution. But, he doesn’t really intend to do that. It’s just good election propaganda. His base will love it. He doesn’t care that he’s lying. His lies have only grown more preposterous as the election nears. He also claimed we’re the only nation that grants birthright citizenship when there’s actually over 30 who do. Trump can get away with these lies because his base doesn’t research, and they don’t have enough integrity to demand honesty from their leader.

Walking thousands of miles on the slim hope of providing a better future for your children is integrity. What is lacking in integrity is exploiting people who need help so you can drum up fear and paranoia in your already frightened and paranoid little base of racists. It also takes gall to continue to exploit this and continue to lie and repeat the rhetoric of pipe bombers and synagogue shooters after what happened last week. Donald Trump was still exploiting the issue the day of the Pittsburgh massacre. He didn’t even pause to catch his breath.

We are the United States and can do better than using women and children refugees for exploitation. The people who do that are no better than the gangs who prey on them during their journey.

I like to think America is better than that. Hopefully, next Tuesday, America proves it is.

If You Like Your B.S., You Can Keep Your B.S.

cjones10232018

When you point out any of Donald Trump’s lies to one of his sycophants, you’ll hear two responses. They’ll either come at you about Obama’s 57 states comment or his “If you like your doctor, you can keep your doctor” promise in 2013.

To compare Obama’s 57 states gaffe to what Donald Trump does on a daily basis, one must be delusional. As Kellyanne Conway’s husband George tweeted, “There’s a huge difference between an isolated slip of the tongue and ceaseless, shameless, and witless prevarication on virtually all topics, large and small.”

But, Obama’s promise that you can keep your doctor turned out to be untrue for a lot of people. His actual quote was, “If you like your health care plan, you can keep it,” and PolitiFact named it the Lie of the Year for 2013.

Even with lies, there are differences between Obama and Trump. When Obama made his statement, it hadn’t been proven to be untrue at the time. As time went on and it turned out to be false, he stopped saying it. Eventually, Obama apologized.

Donald Trump lies about stuff that’s already known to be false, and he doubles down to perpetuate the lie. Then, his followers repeat it until they’re all gaslighted to the point that reality is their delusion. For example; Trump sycophants believe the economy didn’t recover from the Bush recession until January 2017, the day Trump took office. Most of them don’t even remember the recession started under Bush. This really defies reality since they actually lived through the Obama era, but maybe 62 million Americans were in a coma for eight years. If Trump has made the 57-states gaffe, Republicans would be in chat rooms right now arguing that there are seven additional states.

When Republican Congressman Bruce Poliquin of Maine was asked if he voted to repeal Obamacare, he says he didn’t. He tells this lie despite the record, and video evidence that shows he did vote to repeal Obamacare and its pre-existing conditions protections. He even removed a promise from his website to “end Obamacare.” Now, Republicans are telling voters that they’ll save pre-existing protections if we return them to Congress, despite the fact that they already tried to destroy it after spending several years promising to do so. Poliquin is just an example of these liars.

Of the 73 House Republicans in competitive races, 67 of them voted to eliminate Obamacare’s protection of pre-existing conditions. Now, they’re all champions for healthcare.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell is talking about destroying Obamacare after the midterm elections. He’s even talking about cutting Medicare and Social Security to help lower the deficit their tax cuts for the rich helped create. Despite this, Donald Trump says most Republicans are against it.

Trump tweeted, “All Republicans support people with pre-existing conditions, and if they don’t, they will after I speak to them. I am in total support. Also, Democrats will destroy your Medicare, and I will keep it healthy and well!” Trump tells a lot of lies. From that tweet, you’d think Trump has never talked to a Republican or himself.

While Trump talks about protecting coverage of pre-existing conditions, his own administration is backing a lawsuit that will destroy Obamacare. Trump’s Justice Department has declined to defend the health care law in court against a suit from 20 GOP-led states challenging Obamacare’s constitutionality.

After being unpopular for many years, Obamacare now has an approval from a majority of Americans. Despite promising to repeal it for the entirety of its existence, Republicans never had a plan to replace it. They still don’t. Trump’s promise during the presidential campaign was to replace it with “something better.” For as stupid and empty as Trump is, that’s the most substantial replacement plan any Republican has ever offered.

Don’t believe Republicans in their campaign to retain the House. They gave a huge tax cut to the richest of Americans while trying to strip healthcare from the rest. Now, they’re talking about cutting Medicare and Social Security while campaigning that they’ll save healthcare and Democrats, who gave us a national healthcare plan, will take it away.

Republicans say Democrats don’t have a platform but ask one of them what they’ll replace Obamacare with. They’re running on a campaign of fear while hiding that they’re the ones we need to be afraid of.

Truth Isn’t Truth

cjones08252018

Joseph Goebbels is credited for the quote, “A lie told once remains a lie, but a lie told a thousand times becomes the truth.”

While it’s uncertain if Goebbels actually made that statement, what’s not up for debate is that he was the Reich Minister of Propaganda for Nazi Germany. They were not fans of facts or a free press. Neither is the Trump administration as they’re taking their cues from Goebbels’ propaganda playbook.

Trump himself told his followers at one of his rallies that they shouldn’t believe what they see and hear. His highly paid idiots are on board the gaslighting train.

Kellyanne Conway said Sean Spicer was using “alternative facts.” Earlier in the week, Rudy Giuliani told CNN that facts are “in the eye of the beholder.” Just this past Sunday on Meet the Press, he told Chuck Todd that “truth isn’t truth.”

Giuliani argued to Todd when Russians proposed a meeting with the Trump Campaign where they would offer dirt on Hillary Clinton, that any campaign aide would take such a meeting. While it could be argued that only a slimy, traitorous, unpatriotic, shit weasel, piece of crap, would take such a meeting, what can’t be disputed are the facts…which Giuliani proceeded to dispute.

Rudy claimed that Donald Trump Jr. and his treasonous cohorts in attendance at the meeting, Jared Kushner and Paul Manafort, were unaware they were meeting with a Russian until Natalia Veselnitskaya arrived at the meeting (Hmmm? Veselnitskaya? Sounds Mexican, right?). He claimed she was not a representative of the Russian government. He claimed she was a private citizen.

The facts are; it was explained in the email from pop music promoter Rob Goldstone to Donald Trump Jr. that she was a representative of the Russian government and their interest in Donald Trump winning the presidential election. Within minutes of receiving that email, Don Jr. replied, “if it’s what you say it is, I love it.”

Rudy Giuliani has gone from being America’s mayor to just another Trump sycophant, none of whom has ever argued, defended, or supported Donald Trump without lying (it’s never been done. Ever).

They tell lies, like revoking former CIA chief John Brennan’s security clearance because his “frenzied” criticism of the administration was aiding our adversaries in “sowing division and chaos.” The truth is Brennan was a public servant back when Giuliani was still married to his cousin, and helping our nation kill Osama bin Laden while Trump was stealing from charities and grifting with a fake university.

There are various quotes going around on the internet that explains; if you ever wondered what you would have done during the Nazi era (or the Civil Rights era), you’re doing it right now.

If you believe the media is the enemy of the people, you’re doing it right now. If you believe Trump at anytime about anything, you’re doing it right now. If you believe truth isn’t truth, you’re doing it right now. You have been gaslighted.

You’re doing it right now if you’re in agreement with Donald Trump’s statement, “It is the press, above all, which wages a positively fanatical and slanderous struggle, tearing down everything which can be regarded as a support of national independence, cultural elevation, and the economic independence of the nation.”

Oops. Did I say that quote belonged to Donald Trump? My mistake. It belongs to Adolf Hitler.

Wonderful Son

cjones08112018

The Donald Trump presidential campaign did not have any contacts with anyone from the Russian government. OK, they did but it wasn’t anything significant. Except, it was in Trump Tower which was the campaign headquarters for the Trump campaign. Oh, and the meeting was attended by Donald Trump Jr., Jared Kushner, and then-campaign manager Paul Manafort. But, it was a total waste of everyone’s time as it was about Russian adoptions. Though, the Russian was promising dirt on Hillary Clinton and Jr. replied in an email before the meeting “I love it.” But, here’s a statement that definitely wasn’t written by the president that the meeting was only about adoptions. OK, the statement was written by the president, but he didn’t know anything about the meeting and it was still only about adoptions. OK, it wasn’t about adoptions and was totally to gain dirt on Clinton, which they didn’t get. Now, it wasn’t illegal and everybody does it.

Did I miss anything? Probably. At this point, even Nixon would be confused with the explanations.

Donald Trump is reportedly very concerned that his “wonderful” son, Donald Trump Jr., may be in legal peril over that Russian meeting in Trump Tower. He should be concerned. Jr. most likely broke the law, he can’t keep his mouth shut, neither can his old man, and they’re both idiots. They should be very concerned.

They argue that collusion isn’t a crime. That depends on a lot of factors. What is a crime is engaging in a conspiracy with a foreign power to benefit your American election. Even if it’s not illegal, it’s treasonous. You don’t even have to get anything out of it to break the law. You just have to try. It’s like arguing that you failed to kill someone, so it’s only attempted murder. No big deal. Everyone does it.

You wonder how concerned Trump is for his son since his latest tweet about the meeting suggests his son committed perjury before Congress.

Trump tweeted, “Fake News reporting, a complete fabrication, that I am concerned about the meeting my wonderful son, Donald, had in Trump Tower. This was a meeting to get information on an opponent, totally legal and done all the time in politics – and it went nowhere. I did not know about it!”

He’s so concerned for his son that he threw him under the bus while making it clear that he himself had no involvement or knowledge about the meeting. Thanks, Dad!

The thing is, it’s not done all the time in politics. Yes, campaigns get dirt on political opponents. Was the Clinton campaign colluding with Russia by paying a former British agent to investigate Trump? No. They did not work or seek help from a foreign government. The Trump campaign did. Trump and his sycophants don’t understand the difference. But, maybe they’ll have a lot of time to think about it.

Here’s the other thing; Trump lied about the meeting. Trump Jr. lied about the meeting. Trump tried to cover it up. Since they’re on the record lying about it multiple times in the past, how can we believe anything they’re saying to explain it now? Why should we believe Trump didn’t know about it? Why should we believe they didn’t get any information from Russia? Why should we believe there weren’t more contacts.

I have a not-so-bold prediction. This long national nightmare of Watergate with stupid people won’t end without someone named Trump receiving a presidential pardon. A much bolder prediction would be; who and how many?

Credible Liars

cjones07312018

It takes some serious gaslighting, chutzpah, and cajones to discredit someone while defending Donald Trump by accusing them of being a liar. It’s similar to when a Republican congressman pointed out FBI agent Peter Strzok’s infidelity while defending Trump. What’s next? Going after guys with bad comb overs?

A few weeks ago, Rudy Giuliani defended Trump by standing up for his former lawyer’s credibility. Now, Rudy is telling us that Michael Cohen is a lifelong liar and everyone knows it. How long has Rudy known it? What does this say for Rudy’s credibility?

That strategy is this: Don’t listen to what I said the last week. Listen to what I’m saying now, which I might tell you to disregard next week. That’s the kind of argument that will work on Trump sycophants, but not in a court of law. It may work in a Congressional committee controlled by Republicans, but that will change soon.

If Cohen doesn’t have anything other than his word that Trump knew about the Russian meeting in Trump Tower, then his credibility will not be a factor. What this will come down to is corroborating evidence.

This was a meeting that supposedly Donald Trump couldn’t even be bothered to be informed about, but he dictated the memo explaining it to the public. If he was unaware of it, then why was he explaining it? If it was on the up and up, then why did the memo lie over the reason for the meeting, which they claimed was Russian adoptions?

Cohen lies and Trump lies. These kinds of people are drawn to each other. Donald Trump didn’t hire altar boys. He’s a con artist who employed other con artists. People with ethics and principles don’t work for people who steal from charities and operate fake universities.

Trump lies and everyone knows it. Good luck with your defense strategy, Rudy.

Trump Train Trolls

cjones12032017

Back in the old normal, journalists never referred to a politician as a liar. They were either wrong, mistaken, misinformed, misspeaking, or incorrect. That changed with Donald Trump as the man continues to repeat lies after being told they’re lies. Trump and his sycophants don’t just lie where you can say it’s their viewpoint. They lie to the extent that they choose their own facts. Kellyanne Conway even referred to them as “alternative facts.” That puts us into the new normal where it’s not unprofessional to state that the president is a liar. That rule also applies to calling him a troll.

A troll is a person who throws something into a conversation in order to deflect or distract you from the topic. Trump does that, but he also trolls to make people upset. He totally hijacks athletes in the NFL peacefully protesting racism, and turns into something disrespecting Americans who serve in our military. The hypocritical thing about that is Trump has disrespected people in our military.

He attends a ceremony honoring members of the Navajo nation who served in World War II, and he throws out a racist jab at Senator Elizabeth Warren. Later, his defenders like Sarah Huckabee Sanders says the biggest outrage should be directed toward Warren for lying about her heritage. Never mind the fact that Trump has lied about his heritage (he claims he’s Swedish when he’s actually German), or that Warren wasn’t at the ceremony or a topic for discussion at the event. When you bring up Trump’s racism, Warren’s heritage is not relevant. It just changes the subject.

He attacks Democrats and liberals accused of sexual abuse despite the fact he’s had multiple accusers, and he’s currently endorsing a pedophile for the Senate. That’s serious trolling.

Since it’s the Christmas season, let’s not exclude how he brags about how we’re saying “Merry Christmas” again. He actually has his supporters associating him more with that phrase than Jesus Christ. And, when have people ever been afraid or discouraged from expressing it or when was has it ever been outlawed? The guy creates problems where there isn’t one. It still distresses me that white conservatives claim victimization where it doesn’t exist. Trump is their hero.

This week, Trump tweeted out videos made by Britain First, a racist and anti-Muslim group. A group whose leader was charged with assaulting a Muslim woman and her children and a supporter murdered a Member of Parliament.

Apparently, there’s not enough Klansmen and Nazis in America for Trump to support that he has to extend his racism to Europe. There should not be a debate on whether Trump is a racist. The president of the United States is a racist.

The videos Trump tweeted out were Islamophobic created with the intention of increasing hatred toward Muslims. The details Britain First claimed in the videos can’t be confirmed, with one of them being an outright lie. That video is titled, “Muslim migrant beats up Dutch boy on crutches!” It does indeed show one boy attacking another on crutches. However, the attacker wasn’t an immigrant or even a Muslim. He just had darker hair.

This upset, not just Americans, but our allies in the United Kingdom. Prime Minister Theresa May condemned Trump’s tweeting of hate. Trump replied in a tweet, “don’t focus on me, focus on the destructive Radical Islamic Terrorism that is taking place within the United Kingdom. We are doing just fine!,” which was tweeted at Theresa May. Unfortunately, but not surprising, he tweeted it at the wrong Theresa May. The guy is too busy stirring up shit to do any research, like noticing this Theresa May only had about 60 followers. I’m not a genius, but I think I’d question why the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom only had 60 followers.

Sanders said we are focusing on the wrong detail by talking about how the videos are fake, and that the threat is very real. They need a lie to illustrate a real threat. Keep in mind these are the people who scream about “fake news.”

Trump is also hawking his tax cut plan without knowing the details. But, he knows enough that it’s going to make him and his spawn of trolls even richer. That doesn’t prevent him from lying that he won’t benefit from it personally, or that many of his rich friends are upset with him over it. Have you heard any of his rich friends complain about this proposed tax cut? Trump could prove it won’t benefit him if he’d only show us his tax returns.

Just like his blame if there’s a government shutdown, Trump will pin the failure of this “tax cut” on Democrats even though Republicans control both houses in Congress and the Presidency.

Now, there is talk that Trump still believes in birtherism, that the investigation into his meddling with Russia will be over by January, and that his voice on the Access Hollywood tape, which he has apologized for, isn’t his voice. He’s not just a troll. He’s an insane troll.

We have a racist, insane, trolling president. Many members of Parliament don’t want him to visit the UK. Who can blame them? We don’t want him here.
