Let’s start with the back story. In 2017, a bunch of tiki-torch Nazis in polo shirts and Khakis went to Charlottesville to protest the removal of a statue of Robert E. Lee. They called it a “Unite the Right” rally. It sucked. These goons were emboldened by the election of Donald Trump because he ran on racist messages like Muslim bans, racist walls, deporting Mexicans, mosque surveillance, and the only people he’d allow to even legally immigrate to the United States would be white Norwegians and Melania’s parents. He also filled his staff with white nationalists like Steve Bannon and Stephen Baby Goebbels Miller. The Nazis really loved this, so they went to Charlotteville to stomp around with their tiki-torches while chanting, “Blood and soil” and “Jews will not replace us.” Yeah, Nazis are not nice.
There were counter-protesters, fights, and one of the Nazis murdered civil rights and anti-racism activist Heather Heyer. Nazis suck.
Last week, another group of guys in Khakis with tiki torches showed up in Virginia, but this time, they were going to an event for Glenn Youngkin, the Republican gubernatorial candidate. Youngkin was disgusted by this, called it a “false flag,” and blamed his Democratic opponent, former governor Terry McAuliffe, who also condemned it.
Later, the Lincoln Project, that anti-Trump Republican group, took credit for the stunt. This was not a “false flag” since the Lincoln Project owned it. Also, it should have been obvious to everyone that they weren’t real Nazis as one of the actors is a black guy. Real Nazis aren’t big fans of black people, but they do like using them as “black friends” as proof they’re not racist.
The Lincoln Project people issued a statement saying they pulled this stunt as a “way of reminding Virginians what happened in Charlottesville four years ago, the Republican Party’s embrace of those values, and Glenn Youngkin’s failure to condemn it.”
Youngkin did condemn the Lincoln Project for their stunt. He condemned the McAuliffe campaign even though it didn’t have anything to do with it. Condemning real Nazis, not so much.
This was a stupid campaign. What happened in Charlottesville was a horrible event and shouldn’t be used for stuff like political expression and parody except by political cartoonists. Get off my Kool-Aid.
Now, stupid people will still blame Terry McAuliffe for this. I even got some tweets from pro-Nazis blaming McAuliffe for the 2017 event and saying that was a “false flag.” So of course they’re blaming McAuliffe for the Lincoln Project stunt.
But the thing is, they made their point as Younkin condemned it while still NOT condemning real Nazis. The fake Nazis did not chant the vulgar slogans used by the real Nazis in 2017. Instead, they chanted, “We’re all in for Glenn.” While no real Nazis have shown up at any Youngkin events, at least not chanting and with tiki torches, but you can bet your ass they’re “all in for Glenn.”
Nazis will be voting for Youngkin tomorrow. As I used to give voting advice to right-wingers, “Don’t vote for the candidate endorsed by Putin,” I’ll give this advice to Virginians: Don’t vote for the guy who can’t condemn Nazis.

Don’t vote for the guy who Nazis will vote for.
Don’t vote for the guy who lies about school boards and the FBI going after parents.
Don’t vote for the guy who is pro-book burning.
Don’t vote for the guy whose campaign is using Trump’s election lie.
Don’t vote for the guy endorsed by Steve Bannon.
Don’t vote for the guy who refuses to talk about abortion (because he’s going to work to make it illegal).
Don’t vote for the guy who’s promising to take money out of public schools, giving it to private schools, and firing teachers.
And most of all, don’t vote for the guy who’s endorsed by Trump.
To simplify it and have less to remember, don’t vote for Republicans.
Republicans have a hard time condemning Nazis. Even when Donald Trump condemned the Charlottesville Nazis in 2017, he had to quibble and say there were “very fine people” on both sides. “Very fine people” don’t march with Nazis. Donald Trump later said he regretted condemning Nazis and as a way to make up for it, he gave the white nationalist group, the Proud Boys, a shout-out during a debate on national television. He’s also supported QAnon, another Nazi group, and has described them as people who “love their country.” When white nationalists attacked our Capital building, tried to hang Mike Pence, overthrow an election, and install Donald Trump as a fascist dictator, Trump told them they were “special” and that he loved them.
Republicans can’t condemn Nazis. Youngkin won’t because he’s afraid it’ll discourage them from voting. The Blues Brothers can condemn Nazis with Jake saying, “I hate Illinois Nazis.” I bet he’d hate Virginia Nazis too. I sure do.
So, to sum up, don’t vote for Republicans. Don’t vote for Nazi lovers. Don’t be like Republicans. Be more like the Blues Brothers.
Vote tomorrow and vote for Terry McAuliffe. He’s more like the Blues Brothers. Terry condemns Nazis.

I suspect Republican Virginia gubernatorial candidate Glenn Youngkin’s internal polling isn’t as exciting as he’s making it out to be. I get that impression from him encouraging his goons to stalk votings precincts and harass the volunteers who work the polls.
Do you know how much corruption, chicanery, and irregularities were in Virginia’s 2020 presidential election? Zero. Without saying he believes the 2020 presidential election was fraudulent, Youngkin is giving support to the Big Lie with this shout-out to harass election workers. He’s questioning the security and ethics of Virginia’s election. He’s casting doubt on democracy.
This shouldn’t be a surprise as Youngkin is already defending stupid parents who intimidate and threaten school board members, teachers, and other educators. He’s giving support to parents who want to conduct book burnings like the Nazis they aspire to be.
The Youngkin campaign is currently running a commercial with a parent talking about how a nasty book was forced upon her child in public school, and Terry McAuliffe, who was governor at that time, wouldn’t stop it. Boohoo hoo hoo! How dare Terry McAuliffe force this terrible rotten book, probably full of bestiality, incest, and jaywalkers upon her sweet little baby boy who was in the 12th grade….wait. What? The poor little baby was a senior in high school? He was in an advanced reading class? Today, he works for the Republican Party? But hey, I’m sure that was an extremely nasty book..what’s that? It was Beloved, a Nobel Prize-winning novel? So basically, the Youngkin campaign is making a bunch of nothing out of nothing.
Youngkin is also telling lies that McAuliffe had President Biden sic Attorney General Merrick Garland and the FBI on “concerned” parents for expressing their viewpoints to school boards about vaccine mandates, face masks, and Critical Race Theory. Right-wing goon parents haven’t been this up-in-arms with public schools since Michelle Obama tried to force their kids to eat broccoli.
When Youngkin is telling this lie, he doesn’t mention the “concerned” parents are issuing death threats. He’s defending potential terrorists. As governor, will he ignore threats to our educators?
Youngkin also doesn’t want to mention abortion. But, I’m sure he’ll talk about it a lot after he wins. I’m sure he’ll work hard to ban it in the state and try to turn us into Texas but with better food choices.
Youngkin also doesn’t want to talk about Donald Trump even though Trump wants to talk about Youngkin. Trump wants to come to Virginia and campaign for Youngkin. But, Youngkin knows better and he doesn’t want any visible ties to Donald Trump. Funny thing, Larry Elder in California also didn’t have Trump campaign for him.
In fact, there haven’t been any Trumps in Virginia campaigning for Youngkin. Youngkin has attacked the McAuliffe campaign for having people like President Biden and President Obama campaign for him, criticizing McAuliffe for not being able to campaign by himself. But remember, Youngkin had white nationalist fascist Steve Bannon in the state campaigning for him. You remember that, don’t you? It was the event where they all pledged to a flag at the January white nationalist Trump insurrection.
Youngkin also isn’t talking about Charlottesville or the Nazis that marched there and murdered Heather Heyer. Donald Trump talked about them and said there were “very fine people” on both sides at that tragedy. Glenn Youngkin said he was “honored” to receive the endorsement from the guy who said there were “very fine people” marching with Nazis chanting “Jews will not replace us.”
Do you know who marches with Nazis? Nazis. Do you know who Nazis in Virginia will be voting for this Tuesday? They’ll be voting for Glenn Youngkin.
Please, Virginians. Don’t let the guy supported by Trump, white nationalists, and Nazis become governor of Virginia. We cannot allow a Trump cultist MAGAt to be the highest elected official in our state. Did you see how Donald Trump erased the progress this nation made under President Obama? Glenn Youngkin is planning to do that to Virginia. Hell, Ken Cuccinelli might even move back here if Youngkin wins. If Youngkin wins in Virginia, they’re going to take this MAGAt enthusiasm nationally in 2022.
Vote. Don’t let Youngkin Trump Virginia.

I just told a friend who commented on this that the cartoon started without mentioning Virginia GOP gubernatorial candidate Glenn Youngkin. I thought it would have more appeal to all my clients if it could encompass their area. I mean, I don’t have any clients in Virginia which I think is kinda messed up. But then I thought how important it is to call out Glenn Youngkin and make sure this lying vile Trumper is defeated in my state. It’s important to save Virginia.
As anti-vaxxing, anti-mandates, and racist parents demand school boards across the nation stop teaching what they’re not teaching, Critical Race Theory, and threatening teachers and school board members, Republicans are accusing the Biden administration of attacking parents.
It’s funny that when a Republican gets shouted at, or denied service at a restaurant, or someone follows Kyrsten Sinema into a public bathroom to tell her how disappointed with what she’s doing (no, not if she washes her hands after, but obstructing Biden’s agenda without any reason), and it’s an attack. But a conservative parent tells a school board member “I know where you live” and “you better not leave your home alone,” and it’s free speech.
Glenn Youngkin, while presenting himself as a moderate Republican who doesn’t buy into the election lie but loves Trump’s endorsement, has now fully embraced the Republican habit of spreading bullshit.
During an interview with Fox News Radio on October 6, Young claimed his opponent, former governor Terry McAuliffe, had called President Biden to sic the FBI on parents who attend schoolboard meetings. Youngkin lied and said, “Now that parents have stood up and said ‘Terry, we’re rejecting this whole philosophy,’ he goes and gets his friend Joe Biden to dispatch the Department of Justice and the FBI to try to silence parents in Virginia who are standing up for their children.”
This is bullshit. That has never happened. Youngkin is making it up.
Youngkin went on to set his pants on fire with, “If you don’t agree with his big government policy to put government and politicians and bureaucrats between you and your children, if you don’t agree, he’s going to get his friends to sic the F.B.I. on you.”
He also did it the day before on a radio station in Lynchburg when he said, “Now we see Joe Biden and Terry McAuliffe attempting to silence parents completely by intimidating them by force.”
Now he has a commercial claiming Terry McAuliffe is sending the FBI after parents for sticking up for their children.
As Sarah Marshall said in the marvelous film, “Forgetting Sarah Marshall,” “Bullshit, bullshit, bullshit, bullshit.”
Youngkin isn’t just lying. He’s fear-mongering. Next, he’s going to say Terry McAuliffe will come to your house, kick your dog, teach black history to your children (what’s wrong with that?), eat all your Halloween candy except the candy corn, and clog your toilet. I could have had a career writing for Republicans.
Parents are not bad people. Most of us are parents. But parents screaming about Critical Race Theory are bad people and racist. Parents screaming at school board members against vaccine and face-mask mandates are bad people and bad parents. Parents threatening school board members are all of the above.
And allowing parents to dictate the curriculum, where they ban certain courses, is the same as book burning. Do you want your children educated by the demands of an angry mob? That’s what Glenn Youngkin is promising.
These parents Youngkin and Republicans are defending are less responsible and caring for their children and their education and more like the White Citizens Council from 1960s Mississippi. Youngkin wants to take money from public schools and give it to private schools, which is bringing back segregation. Fun fact: Most private schools were created in the 1960s so white parents could pull their kids out of public schools saving them from sitting next to a black kid.
Here’s a fun exercise: Go on the internet (where you are now) and look up your local private school and see the date it was established. I’m sure it being in the 60s is just a big honking coincidence.
Youngkin doesn’t want to talk about facts, like how he’s going to fire educators and ban abortion, and is more interested in lies, like the FBI is going to arrest you for giving your kid extra dessert. You can’t have any pudding unless you eat your meat!
The real threat here is Glenn Youngkin to Virginia. This lying gaslighting abortion-banning segregationist Trump goon wants to destroy our state by giving it to his fellow millionaires to rape and pillage. How’s that for fear-mongering? Except my fears about Youngkin can come true if he’s elected.
And if Youngkin is elected, it can be a bellwether for the rest of the nation during the 2022 midterms. We need to stop the GOP invasion cold in Virginia before it spreads to the rest of the nation. Draw the line in Virginia by defeating Youngkin.
Let’s give Youngkin an education by teaching him his hate, fearmongering and lies won’t work in Virginia.

The Republican candidate for Virginia’s governorship said it was “weird and wrong” for a bunch of his supporters to pledge allegiance with a flag supposedly from the January 6 white nationalist terrorist attack on our capitol building. Well, Glenn, they’re your people. They’re your supporters. They just also happen to support insurrection, overthrowing an election, installing a fascist dictator, white nationalism, terrorism, and killing cops. You wonder if this was one of the flags that was on a pole used to beat cops.
During a rally for Youngkin on Wednesday, which Youngkin said, “I wasn’t involved,” a bunch of his supporters pledged allegiance to a flag they claimed was at the January 6 insurrection to overthrow an election and install Donald Trump as a fascist dictator. Youngkin said, “we shouldn’t pledge allegiance to that flag. And oh by the way, I’ve been so clear, there is no place for violence — none, none — in America today.” Yeah, Glenn, except you’re a Republican.
The Republican Party is more of a cult now than an actual political party. Why, if they can’t win an election, they’ll try to overthrow the government. Today, they complain the election was corrupt and full of malfeasance, so the answer to that is to create more malfeasance by restricting voting by color.
The Republican Party has made Donald Trump a cult leader. And while Youngkin says he’s not into the violence or the election lie of the GOP, he’s more than happy to have the endorsement of the guy who instigated a white nationalist terrorist attack. The rally featuring the flag carried by terrorist also featured Steve Bannon, who the House wants to answer questions about the terrorist attack. This rally featured Amanda Chase, who was at the insurrection cheering it on. This rally featured a phone call from Donald Trump himself,
While accepting the endorsement of racist white nationalist Trump, Youngkin doesn’t want to be seen with the guy. But during the call to Youngkin’s rally, Trump said he was open to campaign for Youngkin. I hope he does.
Youngkin says he doesn’t endorse the violence of the January 6, but he sure does attract people who do. It’s like a candidate saying he’s not a racist while Nazis are voting for him.

During the final debate between Democratic candidate and former governor Terry McAuliffe and Republican candidate, Trump cultists, businessman, and job outsourcer, Glenn Youngkin, McAuliffe said he doesn’t believe “parents should be telling schools what they should teach.” Since then, that’s all Youngkin has been talking about.
Youngkin turned the footage into a digital ad, then announced spending $1 million on a commercial airing statewide proclaiming “Terry went on the attack against parents.” His campaign created a group called “Teachers for Youngkin” which sent out flyers talking about how McAuliffe is attacking parents. Tonight, Youngkin is going to stage a rally in Northern Virginia titled “Parents Matter.”
How dare a politician say something so callous as parents shouldn’t be telling teachers what to teach. It’s an outrage this big government liberal doesn’t want parents setting the curriculum. Why, what McAuliffe said…makes total and complete sense.
The people Youngkin is appealing to are the same people who want God in public education. They want school prayer. They don’t want vaccination or mask mandates in schools. They already believe teachers are indoctrinating students to be liberal, spit on the flag, and pledge allegiance to teacher unions. These are the same people screaming to remove Critical Race Theory from all public schools even though it’s not being taught in any public schools. These are the same people who believe Donald Trump won an election, January 6 was a protest, Ashley Babbitt just so happened to be strolling by innocently inside the Capitol when a police officer shot her, and that vaccines contain microchips.
Do you really want these people setting the agenda in public education? I bet Glenn Youngkin doesn’t either and is just using the issue as red meat to the Trump base he’s feeding. By going to Northern Virginia, Youngkin is hoping people who normally vote blue aren’t paying attention to the details…or to what he’s actually saying.
Have you seen the videos of parents screaming at school boards about vaccines and face masks? Have you seen the videos of them screaming at school board members and teachers in parking lots? These are not the people I want telling teachers how to teach. I would not trust these people to tell me how to microwave a Hot Pocket. “You have to be sure you stick the knives in the microwave.”
If a football coach can ignore a parent when they try to tell him how to run an offense or they should let their kid play quarterback, then teachers shouldn’t have to listen to dumbass parents. If a parent tells a teacher how we need more God in public school, I believe that teacher can legally give that parent a swirlie.
I’m a parent. Does that mean I can tell teachers to teach black lives matter?
Here’s the thing, kids: Parents do get a say in how their children are educated. It’s the same way they elect presidents, mayors, senators, representatives, etc. They get to vote on who sits on school boards. Voting is a voice. Go to school board and PTA meetings. Sure, be involved. But when you demand how your child is taught, you’re also demanding how my child is taught. But then again, you don’t understand that a virus can go from one child to another. How would you feel about a parent knowingly sending their kid to school with lice? Fun fact: Lice, like the coronavirus, don’t care if your kid’s parents are Democrats or Republicans.
Youngkin says he’s the guy for education and claims he wants to give teachers a pay increase. McAuliffe does too. But it’s Youngkin who wants to take money away from public schools and give it to private and charter schools. It’s Glenn Youngkin who wants to bring back segregation. Fun fact: Most private schools were created in the 1960s. Huh. I wonder why that is.
Glenn Youngkin proposed eliminating the state income tax, and then flipped his position. But did he really? If you really care about education, you should be concerned because eliminating the state income tax, which accounts for 72 percent of school funding, will force Virginia to lay off 43,000 teachers. Youngkin has a net worth of over $300 million which was earned by running an investment firm that gobbled up smaller companies and made them more profitable by laying people off and outsourcing jobs to Asia.
This year, CNBC ranked Virginia as the second-best in the nation for education. A high ranking in education makes Virginia extremely attractive for luring businesses from other states…and helps prevent businesses from leaving. A top-rate education system is great for economic development. Republicans need to go back to school to learn how that adds up because they haven’t connected two-plus-two on this issue yet. It’s like voting for Trump and not understanding why there’s an increase in Nazis and hate crimes.
They say the best way to destroy public education is to take away the state income tax. The second best way is to elect a Republican. Glenn Youngkin has the same ideas toward public education as Betsy DeVos, Trump’s Education Secretary who hates public education and believed we needed more guns in schools to save students from bear attacks. Virginia needs a Democratic governor to save schools from Republican attacks. Fun fact: Bears attack fewer Americans than Republican Nazis. Another fun fact: More students have died from mass shootings at schools than from bears.
Republicans hate public education. Don’t take it from. me Take it from Republicans.
Another fun fact: The least educated vote Republicans. As Donald Trump once said about voters, “I love the poorly educated.” He loves the poorly educated almost as he loves quarter pounders and Nazis. Glenn Youngkin will let the poorly educated tell teachers what to teach your child.
For the sake of your child, keep Virginia blue. Vote for Terry McAuliffe.

Glenn Youngkin is a businessman running for governor of Virginia as a moderate and rational Republican, which doesn’t exist anymore. But the thing is, he didn’t just run as an extremist in the primary. He ran as a MAGA Kool-Aid-swilling Trump cultist. And he wasn’t even the the biggest Trumper among the GOP candidates. There were two others worse than him. One female candidate described herself as “Trump in heels” which will now become my new favorite nightmare.
Fortunately for Youngkin, Republican voters don’t select their nominee. The people who scream about election integrity don’t even have one. The party selects the nominee at a state convention and the party knew that nominating a full-on cultist that’s been dipped in orange Trumper batter like a fairground corndog wouldn’t sell in Virginia, which went for President Biden by ten points last year. Over the past decade, Virginia has gotten bluer and bluer. A Republican presidential candidate has not won Virginia since 2004.
Today, every statewide elected office is held by a Democrat, even the ones who wore black face or assaulted women (Republicans are still worse). The House of Delegates is now controlled by the Democratic Party. Much of this is thanks to Donald Trump. Historically, presidents are unpopular in their first year. By the time the Virginia race rolls around in the next year, voters go for the person in the opposite party. But that didn’t happen the year after Putin put Trump in the White House. In fact, Democratic votes increased. But, Virginia may not be entirely blue just yet. It’s a tight race separated by three points in the polls (for McAuliffe) and Youngkin has a chance. His chances depend on the memories of Virginia voters. He’s hoping they don’t have any.
Candidates often speak to the extreme of their party during the primaries and pivot to the middle during the general election. They hope independent and moderates didn’t listen to them during the primaries and hope the extremist don’t during the general campaign. Youngkin is hoping Virginia voters don’t know he spoke for the lunatic fundamentalist zealot cultists during the primary.
During the primary to choose which maniac the GOP would select to face off against former governor Terry McAuliffe, Youngkin promised to “protect the life of every Virginia child, born and unborn.” Now, he’s scrubbed all that shit from his website while his super PAC continues to shower anti-choice extremists with cash.
Youngkin was caught on a hot mic explaining to supporters he can’t champion an anti-choice platform as it won’t sell in Virginia. He’s hoping to trick moderates to win the election and then the next morning go all, “Bleah bleah bleah, you voted for Greg Abbot Lite. BWAHAHAHAHA!”
Youngkin is hoping moderate voters are what Trump believes people who died fighting for their country are, “suckers.”
He was asked if he would defund Planned Parenthood and “take it to the abortionists.” His answer was, “”I’m going to be really honest with you. The short answer is in this campaign, I can’t. When I’m governor and I have a majority in the House we can start going on offense. But as a campaign topic, sadly, that in fact won’t win my independent votes that I have to get.”
In another video, he said, “We’re going after those middle one million voters who are, sadly, gonna decide this — have decided elections for the last 10 to 12 years in Virginia, and they’ve moved a bit away from us. We’re going to get them. We just got back a whole bunch of data today, and we’re winning this group. This is the group that we have to go get.”
He’ll get them by tricking them. Don’t let him fool you.
If he’s going to lie to you about his position on abortion, what else is he lying about? Is he lying about gun control, the vaccine, the pandemic, who won the election? Yes, yes, yes, and yes.
Anti-abortion zealots aren’t worried about his hot-mic snafu or lack of campaigning on ending abortion. They listened to him during the GOP’s fake primary. “He’s not being squishy because we already have him on record saying this stuff,” Don Blake, president of the Virginia Christian Alliance, told The Washington Post.
He’s assured evangelical voters he would “oppose laws that allow women to seek abortions,” according to the Richmond Times-Dispatch. That means he’s going to oppose laws that are on the books now. Don’t mess up by voting for this guy and then wonder later why Virginia has a bunch of Texas Taliban-style laws the majority of the population opposes.
He now says he’s “pro-life,” but he’s not an extremist fundamentalist like the yee-haw fuckers in Texas. He says he’s for banning abortions after the 20th week of pregnancy, not the sixth. But, has anyone asked him if he’ll veto a bill that is a duplicate of Texas’ that bans abortion after six weeks and basically outlaws abortion? Would he veto or sign a bill that creates bounties on abortion providers? Will he restore Jefferson Davis’ name to state highways? Will he return Robet E. Lee’s statue to Richmond? Will he make Trump’s birthday a state holiday? Will you soon fly into Richmond at Ivanka International Airport? Will he rename Virginia Beach to Proud Boy Beach? Will the state motto go from “Virginia is for lovers” to “Virginia is for lovers but only for conception?” Or, “Virginia is for lovers, even rapists who impregnate you?” Since his campaign website doesn’t have a page explaining where he stands on the issues, someone needs to ask him these questions.
Don’t forget, Ted Cruz campaigned with Youngkin during the primary. Where is Ted Cruz during the general election. For most people, never is when they want to be seen with Cancun Cruz, but for Youngkin, he found a time and place.
During the primary, he would not say Biden won the election and kept talking about “election integrity,” which isn’t a real thing for Republicans but a phrase they love to say. After the primary, he needed to focus on the general election and stop staying crazy shit. When asked if Biden is president, he said, “Of course! He’s our president. He slept in the White House last night. He’s addressed a Joint Session of Congress. He’s signing executive orders that I wish he wasn’t signing. So, let’s look forward and just recognize that what we have to do is lead.”
Still, did you notice what he did not say? He still didn’t say Biden won the election. Hey, reporters. Don’t ask him who is the president. Don’t ask him who’s sleeping in the White House. Ask him if Biden won the election. Ask him if it was stolen from Trump. Ask him about George Soros, Hugo Chavez, illegal voters, and Italian satellites. Ask him, ask him, ask him. Ask him if he wants to be endorsed by Ted Cruz, Marjorie Taylor Green, and Matt Gaetz. Tie him to the conspiracy-spreading zealots.
Ask him about Donald Trump’s endorsement. Virginia, do you want a guy endorsed by Trump?
During last night’s debate, Youngkin came out against vaccine mandates for teachers and health officials. He’s against corporations mandating their employees taking the vaccine. When asked by moderator Chuck Todd whether vaccinations for measles, mumps and rubella should be voluntary, Youngkin said, “I think the data associated with those vaccines is something we should absolutely understand the difference between this vaccine.” That’s word salad, not an answer.
Chuck asked him for a real answer and Youngkin said, “Those vaccines can be mandatory. I do believe the covid vaccine is one everyone should get but we shouldn’t mandate it.” Did that make sense to you?
We do know this: States with Republican governors are doing far worse with the pandemic. They’re also the worst for economic development and have the highest poverty rates. Youngkin is promising to slash taxes, even the 2.5 percent on groceries. What he’s really promising isn’t a cut to your grocery bill, but tax cuts for billionaires like himself. Youngkin will destroy Virginia’s economy and make it a haven for the coronavirus, much like Texas and Florida have become. I don’t want Virginia to be like Texas and Florida in any sort of way. I even root for the Washington Football Team over the Cowboys and Buccaneers.
Last night’s debate was the second and the last before the election in October. There was one other scheduled but Youngkin refused to participate because Judy Woodruff, the moderator, had contributed $250 to the Clinton Foundation’s earthquake relief efforts in Haiti over a decade ago. He was worried that someone with empathy for other people couldn’t be impartial to a Republican. He was also worried she might ask questions during the debate. Maybe like Trump, he’s afraid of women, especially smart ones. So, he went with Chuck Todd.
Youngkin opposed Biden’s coronavirus relief package. He’s also against an increase in the minimum wage to $15 from the current $7.25 in Virginia. He opposes paid family and medical leave. He opposes the state’s Medicaid expansion. He’s argued for increasing gun rights. And finally, he will ban abortions. His mouth doesn’t say it, but his pocketbook does. He’s been doling out campaign contributions to anti-choice zealots in basically every race in Virginia. He’s trying to become governor with a right-wing fundamentalist anti-choice General Assembly. He’ll probably combat climate change by banning woke actions that anger God.
The Washington Post has endorsed McAuliffe. They write that Glenn Youngkin “has played footsie with the scurrilously antidemocratic Big Lie” that Trumpers claim gave Biden the presidency. The Post mentioned Youngkin would roll back gun-safety laws and abortion access, equivocated on same-sex marriage, and called Medicaid expansion, which provided health insurance for hundreds of thousands of Virginians, “sad.”
The Post also writes, “In the current campaign, for which voting starts Friday and culminates Nov. 2, Mr. McAuliffe has proposed a sweeping, detailed agenda — a sharp contrast with Mr. Youngkin, who for months had almost no policy proposals beyond a commission to tighten rules on nearly nonexistent election fraud.”
The Post points out, “The McAuliffe plan’s centerpiece is a $2 billion investment in education, which dovetails with his pro-business agenda; good schools attract good businesses.”
They also mention as governor, McAuliffe made 35 trips overseas to bring businesses and jobs to Virginia, which included luring Nestlé USA to Roslyn from California and CoStar Group to move from North Carolina to Richmond. Maybe if you live in California or North Carolina, you don’t want Terry McAuliffe to return to Virginia’s governor mansion. When McAuliffe left office, our unemployment rate was at 3.6 percent, below the national average.
McAuliffe also restored felon voting rights and criminalized gun possession by domestic abusers. Take note if you live in NoVa, McAuliffe negotiated a massive, privately financed expansion in traffic-clogged Northern Virginia’s highway capacity.
By comparison, Younkin’s only positions have been to destroy progress and create “election integrity” for non-existent voter fraud.
The Post sums up with: “It’s critical that Virginians recall that Mr. McAuliffe is a dynamic chief executive with a proven track record for advancing prosperity. Mr. Youngkin is an untested politician who would guide the state away from the moderation it has pursued, and profited from, for more than a decade. Electing him would be a grave error.” Donald Trump was an untested politician too.
Electing Youngkin would be a huge error. It would be a disaster. Trumplicans are always disasters.
Youngkin is a Trumpkin, but if you don’t want to vote for McAullife and since the will be getting hot in October, vote for a pumpkin. It’s kinda the same thing when you look at Trump.
