Impeach

White House Exorcism

cjones01162021

The House of Representatives will most likely impeach Donald Trump tomorrow…for a second time.

Donald Trump will be the only president to have been impeached twice…and deservedly so. This time, there may be a few Republicans voting yes. Last time, not one single Republican in the House or Senate, except Mitt Romney, thought it was wrong for Donald Trump to ask a foreign nation to help him win reelection. This time, only most of them don’t think it’s wrong for an American president to incite terrorists.

The really ridiculous part of this is, Republicans in Congress don’t want to impeach or remove Trump after he sent terrorists…to attack THEM.

One of my dumbass MAGA cartoonist colleagues wrote that it was kinda nice watching Democrats “cower in fear.” Dumbass. Republicans were cowering in fear too. The terrorists had zip ties and they probably weren’t just seeking out Nancy Pelosi, Alexandria Ocasio Cortez, and Adam Schiff. They were looking for Mike Pence. In fact, they were chanting, “Hang Mike Pence.” One of them even brought a noose. Others brought Molotov cocktails and pipe bombs.

While there’s been a lot of talk about impeachment and the 25th Amendment, let’s talk about the 14th Amendment.

In Section 3 of the 14th Amendment, it reads: No person shall be a Senator or Representative in Congress, or elector of President and Vice President, or hold any office, civil or military, under the United States, or under any State, who, having previously taken an oath, as a member of Congress, or as an officer of the United States, or as a member of any State legislature, or as an executive or judicial officer of any State, to support the Constitution of the United States, shall have engaged in insurrection or rebellion against the same, or given aid or comfort to the enemies thereof. But Congress may by a vote of two-thirds of each House, remove such disability.

That means if you engage in insurrection or rebellion against the United States of America, then you shouldn’t be in Congress. That seems right. Anyone who attacks an election doesn’t deserve to hold elected office. This doesn’t mean Congress should think about or consider removing seditious members…it means they HAVE to remove them. It means Josh Hawley, Ted Cruz, and especially Mo Brooks, who was riling up the terrorists at the hate rally before the attack, should be expelled from Congress. And for good measure, Congress should remove every single member who objected to the electoral college. They are a disability and they should be expelled.

Members of Congress shouldn’t be removed because we don’t like the way they think or talk. They should be kicked out for attacking a free and fair election based on lies and conspiracy theories. These are adults who have access to facts. If a political cartoonist, me, can get the facts, so can a member of Congress. Every member who opposed the election did so for political expediency…not to save the nation. Their pandering to Donald Trump and the MAGA base fed into a conspiracy theory which supported a terrorist attack…and will enable attacks the Trump Terrorists are planning for next week.

These members sold their souls, but not to the devil. They sold their souls to Donald Trump…which is kinda like the devil. Now, a lot of them want their souls back or will pretend like they never sold them. Any Republican who was a Never Trumper, then became an ass-kissing lickspittle troglodyte toadie sycophant, will probably return to being a Never Trumper and act like they never liked the guy. Half the fuckers who inspired the terrorists are now condemning the attack they enabled. Next week, they’ll forget the attack ever happened.

Let’s not let them pretend to forget or gaslight the terrorist attack they supported. Kick them out now. Impeach Trump. Exorcise Congress. Clean out the poison. When World War II was over, Germany didn’t keep the Nazis in power. They didn’t send Nazis to the Bundestag. But you know there were Nazis who claimed they never were Nazis. After January 20, we’re going to have MAGAts claiming they’ve always been Never Trumpers. We may need to take the Aldo Raine technique with them so it’s a uniform they can’t take off.

As for Trump, when we exorcise him, we’re not trying to save him. We’re trying to save our nation, our democracy, our Constitution, the United States of America.

We need to exorcise MAGA.

Impeach Baby

cjones01152021

During the 2016 presidential campaign, President Barack Obama said Donald Trump was “uniquely unqualified” to be president. Donald Trump wasn’t just unqualified to be president. His level of being unqualified was unique. He proved it time and time again.

Donald Trump proved he wasn’t qualified when he asked Russia to help him win in 2016. He proved it during a debate with Hillary Clinton when he said he’d use the Justice Department to go after his enemies. He proved it when he didn’t seem to understand how tariffs work. He proved it when he instituted a policy of ripping families apart and throwing babies in jail. He proved it when he talked about “shithole countries” and said “send them back” about brown female congresswomen. He proved it when he defended tiki-torch Nazis. He proved it by endorsing violence by his thugs and goons. He proved it when he told Proud Boys to “stand by.” He proved it when he asked Ukraine to help him steal an election. He proved it when he asked Congressional Republicans to help him steal an election. He proved it when he took Russia’s side over Americans. He proved it when he slept through briefings reporting that Putin paid bounties on American troops. He proved it when he told his fucknut base that an election was corrupt. He proved it when he sat on his ass and ignored a pandemic that has killed nearly 380,000 Americans.

The final straw was his proving it when he incited his base of terrorists to attack Congress in order to install him as a dictator. Osama bin Laden and Donald Trump are two men who sent terrorists to attack our capitol building. Donald Trump is uniquely unqualified and now, uniquely dangerous.

There are fewer than two weeks before Joe Biden is sworn in and can start to repair the damage from this disaster of a presidency. But what will Trump do in that time?

Donald Trump was still praising terrorists, telling them they’re special and that he loved them after the attack. He didn’t condemn it until his staff pressured him over the threat of being removed. Then, Donald Trump finally conceded that he will not be president after January 20 (a lot of his followers believe the “transitioning to a ‘new’ administration” is a “new” Trump administration without Mike Pence. Seriously). So, since Trump caved, you may believe he’s learned his lesson and will be on his best behavior, whatever that looks like, until the 20th.

After Donald Trump was impeached, Maine Senator Susan Collins said he learned his lesson…then he started firing everybody who testified against him and started breaking laws again. Republicans haven’t learned their lessons either. You can’t trust Donald Trump. Don’t believe me? Go ask Mike Pence.

During the riot, Mike Pence and his family were in the capitol. There were goons with zip ties seeking him out. Donald Trump called senators in the capitol…not to check on Pence’s safety but to keep strategizing on how to steal the election.

Donald Trump doesn’t learn morals, ethics, or lessons. After four years, you think he’s going to learn in the last two weeks? Get the fuck out of here.

And Donald Trump should get the fuck out of here.

The best thing for everyone would be if Donald Trump resigned, but since he hasn’t done it yet, that’s not going to happen.

The second best thing would be for his cabinet to remove him. Of course, they haven’t learned yet that we can’t trust Donald Trump. There are arguments that removing him will make uniting the nation even more difficult. But really? That ship has sailed. Quite frankly, I don’t give a rat’s ass about unifying with people who support terrorists. I don’t need unity with people who put a cult of racist personality before their nation. I don’t need unity with people who bring pipe bombs and Molotov cocktails to a protest. Unity with zip-tie guy and Chewbacca bikini? Unity Schmunity.

That brings us to impeachment. Sure, it won’t remove him…even if the Senate was on board. There’s no way both chambers in Congress could move that fast and cooperate…even if you get ten Republicans in the Senate who realize Donald Trump is freaking lunatic and a threat to national security, and agree to toss him out. Plus, there are still traitors and supporters of terrorists in both chambers. By the way, all those idiots need to be removed too, and that includes my treasonous Congressman, Rob Wittman.

Call me “Crazy,” but I don’t think people who oppose elections should hold elected office.

Impeach Donald Trump anyway. A second impeachment will be a larger stain on the worst president in the history of all presidents, and that includes the president of the New York Jets (who by the way, is a Trump appointee as an ambassador). Congress impeached Bill Clinton for receiving oral sex and I don’t think that killed anybody. Trump riot: Five dead (maybe six). Clinton blowjob: Zero deaths and a happy president. After the blowjob, nobody worried about Clinton nuking Ottawa.

And if you can get the Senate to go along, impeachment and conviction may bar him from serving again. There’s a huge dispute on that.

Let’s touch on that dispute. There are memes going around that a “removed” president can not receive his pension, office, staff, Secret Service protection, and other assorted goodies. The argument here is: If he’s removed, then he’s no longer a “former” president, which is what the law says he must be to collect all the benefits. If Congress does not remove him and the Senate convicts him AFTER he’s president, then he’s still a “former” president and will still be eligible for the benefits. You can’t remove somebody after they’re gone. I’m unsure about him being eligible for running again. But make note, being in prison does NOT prohibit one from running for president. People in prison have run for president…from prison. And still that guy wasn’t “uniquely” unqualified for the presidency.

The most important thing (after not playing with the nuclear codes) is that Donald Trump not be president again. Nearly half this nation still supports him. A poll over the weekend showed that 45% of Republicans approved the terrorist attack on Congress. 53% say it’s not Trump’s fault. 50% of Republicans called the terrorists “protesters” and 30% called them “patriots.”

If Mike Pence and the cabinet are patriots, they’ll remove him NOW. Now! Now! Now! As it is, the terrorists are planning another attack, perhaps on the 20th. If I know this, then Donald Trump knows it. Has Donald Trump issued a statement telling his supports to “stand down?” No.

Make the White House like the house in Amityville and have a loud voice say, “GET OUT!” And now it occurs to me, have we considered an exorcism?

Juicy Intel

cjones11202019

One revelation from last week’s impeachment hearings is that the ambassador to the European Union, Gordon Sondland, was talking to Donald Trump on a cell phone from a restaurant in Kyiv, Ukraine. This is potentially dangerous.

Donald Trump has never taken security seriously. He overruled the FBI in giving his idiot son-in-law, Jared Kushner, a security clearance. He did the same with his daughter, Ivanka. Those with security clearances have to go through extreme background checks that often take months. It’s very stressful and invasive. Not only can’t you lie, you also can’t make mistakes. So you can imagine there being some bitterness when Donald Trump, who couldn’t get a security clearance if his life depended on it, is handing them out like Pez to people who have lied on their applications. The only qualification his stupid kids needed for their security clearances was being related to Donald Trump.

Trump also gave away classified information to Russians in the Oval Office. What made this worse is that the intel came from an ally. It wasn’t ours to give. On top of that, he allowed the Russians to bring recording equipment into the White House while he kicked out the American press.

In the past, he’s tweeted out classified information. He revealed there are nuclear weapons in Turkey which were something our government had never admitted.

While visiting the border, an agent declined to divulge classified information about their work after Trump prodded him to.

It’s been reported that Trump is careless with his own cell phone, ignoring procedures and protocols over its use. Washington is full of spies. Even our friends spy on us. It makes you wonder how much intel they’ve gathered from Trump’s nightly phone chats with Sean Hannity.

Trump has had private meetings with Putin and Kim Jong Un without any Americans in the room, except for a translator, whom he then told to burn her notes. His first National Security Adviser was a guy who had been on Russia’s payroll.

And now, it appears he was talking to an ambassador who was on a cell phone in a nation full of spies.

You can argue it’s the ambassador’s fault. He’s the one on the cell phone. But Trump should have known. He should have taken precautions.

Why would Gordon Sondland be so careless? He’s an ambassador. He’s been trained in this, right? Probably, but he may not understand the seriousness of it to the extent a career diplomat would. Sondland’s qualification to be an ambassador is that he gave Donald Trump’s inauguration committee a million dollars.

Presidents always appoint campaign donors to ambassadorships. Obama, Clinton, both Bushes, and Reagan all did it (Reagan made Shirley Temple an ambassador). Trump’s doing it now. But with Sondland, he didn’t just make him an ambassador to some tiny nation that Trump couldn’t find on a map (OK, that’s a lot of nations), he appointed him to the European Union. That’s a very important post. On top of that Trump fuckery, he put him in charge of his Ukraine dealings to coordinate with Rudy Giuliani, who hasn’t been appointed to anything. Ukraine is NOT in the European Union.

Trump tweeted a few days ago that he has absolute power to appoint ambassadors. That’s not true. He does have the power to appoint and they serve at his pleasure. But, it’s not absolute. Ambassadors, just like judges and cabinet members, have to be confirmed by the Senate. The Republicans who control the Senate rubber stamp the majority of Trump’s stupid appointments, but there is still checks and balances. Congress, along with the courts, is an equal branch of government to the presidency. That will change if Trump is not removed and is reelected.

Donald Trump is a national security risk. He has been since day one. Make no butts about it.

Cross Hairs For Whistleblower

cjones11092019

It’s Taco and Bonus Toon Tuesday here at Claytoonz Central. But since I ate all the tacos Amanda made for me, you get the cartoon.

I sketched this idea out a few weeks ago and even shared it in one of my posts showing you rough sketches. Sometimes I wonder if I shouldn’t reveal a few of them as I might want to go back to them. This is one of those. It’s simple and I figured I could whip it out within 20 minutes. I was wrong. It took about two hours, but I did take a break for tacos.

There’s only one reason Republicans like Donald Trump and Rand Paul want the whistleblower to be revealed. It’s because they can’t attack the context. Listen to what Trump says about the guy and, if you’re not a Republican, you’ll notice he only has lies.

Last night, at a Trump hate rally in Kentucky, Rand Paul demanded the media do its job and reveal the whistleblower. First off, Rand, it’s not the media’s job to expose the whistleblower and put his life in danger. What he’s reported is more important than who he is. We already know what he is. Rand Paul is the last person, other than Donald Trump, who would have a clue as to the media’s job.

Second, Republicans only want to discredit the whistleblower because they can’t discredit the accusations. They can’t discredit the truth.

The law protects whistleblowers. Government employees are actually required to take classes on whistleblowing. Anyone in the government who tries to expose a whistleblower should be removed, like Donald Trump and Rand Paul. I think trying to expose the whistleblower should be added to the charges that will be used to impeach Donald Trump.

There is a real danger to trying to expose the whistleblower. Do you remember Comet Pizza? There was a conspiracy theory that Hillary Clinton was running a child sex slave ring out of the basement of a Washington, D.C. pizza parlor. There weren’t any child sex slaves. The pizza place didn’t have any connection to Hillary Clinton. The pizza place didn’t even have a basement. Yet, a conservative lunatic who was troll bait for Russia’s campaign to elect Trump drove to Washington with the agenda to shoot up the pizza parlor.

Do you remember the shooting at a Planned Parenthood in Colorado Springs in 2015? The shooter killed three people because he believed in the Republican lie, made from doctored videos, that they were selling dead baby body parts. To this day, “pro-life” people still believe Planned Parenthood is selling baby body parts.

Already, the lawyers for the whistleblower are receiving death threats. If Donald Trump and Rand Paul have their way, the whistleblower will be running for his life…or dead. Donald Trump and Rand Paul, like most Republicans, don’t have any shame.

Republicans are a threat to national security. Republicans cost lives. Don’t kill people. Don’t vote Republican.

Brains Don’t Work On The Girl

cjones11072019

The Trump kids, much like their father, are seriously out of their element when it comes to politics and well…anything that requires comprehension, consistency, and honesty. Donald Trump’s full-grown trust-fund babies are at their best when they ignore what’s actually going on, like when Jr. and Eric tweeted denials that their father was booed at a UFC event in New York over the weekend. It’s like that episode of The Simpsons, when a crowd boos Mr. Burns. His lackey, Mr. Smithers, tells his boss they’re not saying “boo.” They’re saying “Boo-urns.”

Last week, Donald Trump Jr., with a straight face, went on Hannity and said, “I wish my name was Hunter Biden. I could go abroad, make millions off of my father’s presidency. I’d be a really rich guy! It would be incredible!” If Sean Hannity was an actual journalist, he would have reminded Donald Trump Jr. that his name is Donald Trump Jr. DJTJ was on Hannity to promote his new book, “Triggered,” which, ironically, nobody would be interested in publishing or reading if his name wasn’t Donald Trump Jr.

On October 15, Eric Trump made the claim, “When my father became commander-in-chief of this country, we got out of all international business.” There are literally buildings in other countries with the Trump name on them. In fact, every time the Trump kids go on an overseas business deal, which they still do, taxpayers have to pay a bill for their protection.

Jared, who is in charge of Trump’s impeachment defense (good luck) and argues his father-in-law hasn’t “done anything wrong,” responded to Joe Biden’s criticism of him and Ivanka having jobs in the White House. Jared said, “He’s entitled to his opinion, but a lot of the work that the President’s had me doing over the last three years has actually been cleaning up the messes that Vice President Biden left behind.” It’s funny because Jared has no idea what he’s doing and someday in the future, someone’s going to be cleaning up the messes he left behind.

Then there’s Daddy’s princess, Ivanka. She decided to defend her father from the impeachment inquiry by comparing him to Jefferson…No, not George but Thomas. She took an eloquent quote from the third president and tweeted, “‘…surrounded by enemies and spies catching and perverting every word that falls from my lips or flows from my pen, and inventing where facts fail them.’ -Thomas Jefferson’s reflections on Washington, D.C. in a letter to his daughter Martha.
Some things never change, dad!”

There are several takes you can get from them. Jefferson is on the nickel and the closest honor Trump has to that is a baby balloon of him floating around the United Kingdom. Jefferson wrote the Declaration of Independence and Trump tweets out photoshopped pics of him placing medals on dogs. The best take from this is that Jefferson was responding to accusations he fathered a child with a slave…which he was guilty of at least six times. I don’t think the area of who Trump has slept with, or wants to sleep with, is one Ivanka should wade into. Ivanka should try to find a quote from someone defending themselves from fraudulent charges, like OJ.

Here’s the thing, pretend princess, when you Google a quote, don’t stop reading before you find the context. Perhaps, if you spent more time comprehending what you’re supposed to be doing as a “senior adviser” to the president instead of your public-image campaign of presenting yourself as the rational Trump with humility, you may accidentally stumble upon a clue.

These are just more examples of rich white people crying about how they’re constantly persecuted and life is so hard and unfair for them. If only the world would stop being mean to trust-fund babies.

But if you’re seeking a Jefferson quote, Sweatshop Barbie, I got one for you. Thomas Jefferson wrote, “Towards acquiring the confidence of the people the very first measure is to satisfy them of his disinterestedness, & that he is directing their affairs with a single eye to their good, & not to build up fortunes for himself & family: & especially that the officers appointed to transact their business, are appointed because they are the fittest men, not because they are his relations. So prone are they to suspicion that where a President appoints a relation of his own, however worthy, they will believe that favor, & not merit, was the motive.”

I know it’s kinda long so I’ll directly give you the point. Nepotism is bad. Still don’t understand it? You and your idiot husband only have positions in the White House because the president is your father. If you honestly believe you’re there because of your qualifications, then you are dumber than I could ever make you out to be.

But, since you’re seeking a Jefferson quote that fits your situation, I’ll provide another for you: “If I paid you to think, you could cash your check at the penny arcade.” That’s from George.

Fireside Chat

cjones11052019

I find it amusing that after the impeachment inquiry vote, Republicans accused Democrats of being partisan…after every. single. Republican. voted against it. That just went right over their heads. Republican Steve Scalise said it was a “Soviet-style” investigation, never mind that these “Soviet-style” rules were written by Republicans.

Despite all Republicans checking their consciences at the door and finding nothing wrong with a president asking a foreign government to go after a political opponent and help his reelection, Donald Trump is still freaking out. He continues to say the phone call, which he sometimes refers to as a “letter,” was “perfect.” It wasn’t even perfect corruption because they didn’t hide it well enough.

Trump has told us that we have the complete “transcript,” despite the disclaimer at the top of the “transcript” explaining it’s not complete, or even a transcript. It’s a summary.

Now, Donald Trump is thinking about taking a page from a previous president and selling the “transcript” to the public himself. He’s considering reading it aloud in a “fireside chat.” OK. I’m curious.

The first thing I’m curious about is Trump reading aloud. I’ve heard him read aloud before. It’s cringeworthy. It’s like in elementary school when the entire class took turns reading a story aloud, and they each got different pages or paragraphs. And if you were one of the kids who read well and was impatient, it was aggravating listening to someone read something you had already read and could have read 20 more times during the length of time it took your classmate to read it once. Donald Trump is not the impatient kid.

That’s the second thing I’m curious about. Will Trump read the entire transcript and not just the ten-page summary? Even if he only tackles the ten pages, can America sit through Trump mangling it with his poor reading ability?

Trump is copying Franklin Delano Roosevelt, who delivered the chats on radio between 1933 and 1944. He used radio to kill rumors, explain policies, and comfort and reassure America during times of the Great Depression and World War II. There are differences here. Roosevelt was loved by the nation. Trump can’t go to a baseball game without people chanting “lock him up.” Roosevelt could read and he wrote very well. He was a great orator and his speeches are still quoted. Donald Trump is barely literate. Roosevelt was also comforting. Donald Trump is a screaming race-baiter. Basically, Roosevelt was a leader America wanted four times. Donald Trump is America’s asshole.

Roosevelt didn’t use the fireside chats to defend corruption. He also didn’t use them to only talk about himself. Donald Trump doesn’t want to conduct a fireside chat to talk to America about America. Donald Trump wants to talk to America about Donald Trump. Trump’s only agenda as president has been Donald Trump.

I think Trump is better off sticking to his hate rallies where he flails around without a script. Nobody there expects him to read or be comforting, and they eat up everything he says.

I would totally expect Donald Trump to conduct a fireside chat with a flamethrower.

Lesbian Bong Blow

cjones11022019

Revenge porn is despicable, ugly, and unethical. So naturally, Republicans are all over it.

California representative Katie Hill has resigned after revelations were made that while she was a candidate, she and her husband were mutually involved in an extramarital relationship with a female campaign staffer. Hill has acknowledged this. Her estranged husband has claimed she also engaged in an affair with a male staffer after she was in office. Hill has denied this charge.

As others have pointed out, the story wasn’t presented as breaking news but more like bombs with the intention of humiliating Hill. They were accompanied by naked photos of her and were published in the Daily Mail and the Republican blog, Red State.

Republicans are laughing and rejoicing over this, and not just because it opens a congressional seat that Hill flipped to Democrats in 2018. No, Republicans are rejoicing because they’re cruel. I’ve seen posts by several conservatives saying it’s her fault the photos became public. Why, if she didn’t want them exposed then she never should have had them taken or even engaged in such shenanigans.

You can argue about Hill’s actions with a campaign staffer. There should be an investigation into whether she engaged in a sexual relationship with a congressional staffer. But you shouldn’t be enjoying or sharing her photos. Why? It’s not her fault they’re out there and secondly, they’re not yours to share.

Whenever I hear about leaked photos from someone’s iPhone, cloud, or whatever, I don’t go searching for them. No, I don’t have a high horse. I’m not perfect. But I refuse to support the invasion of someone’s privacy or the theft of their property. I don’t buy the argument that it’s their fault for taking the photos. I don’t buy it’s their fault for their behavior. I don’t buy that I have a right to their private photos because they’ve posed nude in the past. Their privacy and property don’t belong to me or you. I won’t support the thieves who stole it. The same people who are blaming Hill for the publication of her private photos will shout you down for sharing photos from Melania Trump’s past, which were for publications she chose to pose for.

In Hill’s case, we didn’t need the photos for the story. We had the story. The photos were put out there to shame her by her estranged husband who shared them on porn sites. If anything, he should be brought up on criminal charges.

The reason for Hill’s resignation isn’t right either. She didn’t resign after an investigation proved she broke a law or an oath. She resigned because of revenge porn. There’s a double standard here.

The troglodytes who are getting off on this revenge porn overlook the fact that Congressman Duncan Hunter, also from California, was indicted on a charge of using campaign funds to support extramarital affairs with five women, and still hasn’t stepped down. Did I mention that was with FIVE women? Why is he still in office? Two reasons. He’s male and he’s a Republican.

It was only last year the House began prohibiting relationships between representatives and staffers, after decades or male congressman getting away with it. The first to be punished for it is an openly bisexual woman.

And then there’s the fact that while Republicans hoot and wag their fingers, they’re supporting a president who has bragged he’s grabbed women “by the pussy” and has been accused from assault to rape from over 20 women.

And Republicans are all about outing. Currently, they’re engaged in smearing a highly-decorated veteran as a spy for Ukraine, and they’re trying to out the whistleblower. It doesn’t bother Republicans they’re assaulting a veteran who still carries shrapnel in his body. It doesn’t matter to them that by exposing the whistleblower, they may endanger his life, as his lawyers have been facing death threats.

Republicans are constantly engaged in a scorched-earth campaign. But it’s fun to watch it burn them.

Traitors For Trump

This is where you’re supposed to stand up for what’s right.

Lieutenant Colonel Alexander Vindman is a decorated Iraq war veteran. He’s an expert on Ukraine serving on the National Security Council in the White House. Now, he’s being smeared as a “Never Trumper” and even a traitor. His crime? Speaking out in a sense of duty. Vindman was on the call between Trump and Ukraine’s president and he was so troubled by what he heard, he registered internal objections…twice.

In Vindman’s opening statement which was released to the press, he says, “I did not think it was proper to demand that a foreign government investigate a U.S. citizen, and I was worried about the implications for the U.S. government’s support of Ukraine. I realized that if Ukraine pursued an investigation into the Bidens and Burisma it would likely be interpreted as a partisan play which would undoubtedly result in Ukraine losing the bipartisan support it has thus far maintained.”

Now, people who call themselves patriots are smearing a decorated war veteran to defend a draft dodger. I guess all those years of service to his country doesn’t mean anything if he says something negative about Trump. I guess screaming “lock her up” at a Trump rally is greater service than fighting for your country.

This is where you need to stand up. Don’t let them do this. I realize you can’t defend Trump on the charges, but you don’t have to slander a veteran. To attack a veteran for being alarmed over Trump’s behavior is putting cult worship before your country. At this point, what are you good for?

We’re America. We honor our veterans. We’re better than this. If you’re still supporting Trump, you’re not better.

Yippee Ki-Yay Rudy

Nobody liked the idea of John Bolton as Trump’s national security adviser. Bolton, a longtime war hawk who has publicly endorsed starting a war with every nation hostile to the United States, was now in an influential position close to a president who could be influenced by the slightest flattery. “Wow! That was some insightful tweeting today at Kristen Stewart’s expense today, you stable genius you.” The next thing you know, we got a Bay of Pigs do-over.

What probably prevented Bolton, who still believes invading Iraq was a fantastic idea, from effectively advancing his own agenda is that half the world’s tyrants he wants to bomb are tyrants Donald Trump idolizes and claims he receives “beautiful” letters from. During Bolton’s tenure, Trump said, “I actually temper John.” After Bolton resigned and Trump claimed he was fired, he said Bolton was “holding me back.” Yikes.

While intelligent people who aren’t in a rush to bomb half the planet were glad Bolton was gone, nobody liked the way it went down. While John Bolton is eager to start needless wars with our nation’s enemies, at least he is able to identify our enemies.

Now, it’s come to light that John Bolton was the voice of reason in the Trump administration.

Former White House aide Fiona Hill testified before three House committees that John Bolton objected to the campaign pressuring Ukraine to dig up dirt on Trump’s political opponents. Bolton is not a liberal or friend to Democrats and has propped up his own conspiracy theories in the past. But even he saw this for the shitshow that it is.

According to Hill and two other witnesses, Bolton got into a heated exchange last July with European Union ambassador Gordon Sondland about the campaign to withhold aid to Ukraine unless they began an investigation into Hunter Biden, the son of Democratic candidate and former vice-president Joe Biden.

Hill testified that Bolton told her to notify the chief lawyer for the National Security Council about a rogue effort by Sondland, Rudy Giuliani and Mick Mulvaney, the acting White House chief of staff. He told Hill to tell the lawyer, “I am not part of whatever drug deal they’re cooking up.” In case you’re a Republican, “drug deal” is a metaphor.

On another date, Bolton told Hill, “Giuliani’s a hand grenade who’s going to blow everybody up.” That’s pretty much what’s happening now. It’s blowing up. And again for our Republican friends, “hand grenade” is a metaphor. There weren’t any real hand grenades.

Hill also testified that Sondland told her he was in charge of Ukraine and was given the task by Donald Trump. What’s very interesting here is that Sondland is ambassador to the European Union. In case you’re a Republican, Ukraine is NOT in the European Union.

Just how much of a hand grenade do you have to be for John Bolton to think you’re a hand grenade?

There are more hearings scheduled for this week. Coming up is George Kent, deputy assistant secretary of state for Europe and Eurasia, Gordon Sondlond (who will either engage in coverup and obstruction, come clean to save his own ass, or refuse to show up), and Counselor of the United States Department of State T. Ulrich Brechbuhl (who’s close to Secretary of State Mike Pompeo).

The House has also subpoenaed documents from Sondland, Giuliani and his two goons who were arrested last week, Mulvaney, Secretary of Energy Rick Perry, Mike Pence, acting Director of the Office of Management and Budget Russell Vought, and Pentagon officials (to explain the delay in providing aid to Ukraine).

This is stupid Watergate, but instead of following the money, we need to follow the goons. Imagine what we’ll know by tomorrow.

What I know right now is Donald Trump is a criminal and he should be impeached. Any administration where John Bolton is the reasonable one needs to be tossed out.
