Roughs, Volume 235

I wanted to split this batch of roughs into two blogs, but I did so many cartoons over the past three days, that I’m starting to get confused over what I need to make videos for and when. After having to create my regularly scheduled cartoons, a cartoon for CNN, a cartoon for the Fredericksburg Advance, and one extra cartoon because somebody was found guilty on 34 counts, all while traveling, I’m lucky I even know what state I’m in. It’s Alabama, by the way. What the hell am I doing in Alabama?

This was created for the FXBG Advance last week.

I drew several roughs on Trump’s stupid claim that Biden tried to have him killed. This was drawn on Wednesday, May 22.

This was also drawn on May, 22.

For some reason between the assassination roughs, I threw this in…also drawn on May 22.

I liked this one and I was kinda deep into the process when I thought off…

…I thought of this…and I started working on it until…I came up with an idea I liked better. Sorry, there’s no rough for the final version as it became the cartoon of the day.

But this is where I was when I stopped for the new idea.

This was drawn on Wednesday, May 22, but it didn’t go anywhere.

I had a substitute editor at CNN last week and on Thursday, May 23, she suggested this subject. I thought it was a good subject as nobody else in this country would be drawing on it.

But then we switched gears and went after Nikki Haley. All these Haley roughs were drawn on a train on my way to the Libertarian Convention in Washington, DC on Friday, May 24.

Meh.

I thought of this on the train but I didn’t send it to the sub at CNN. I didn’t wanna give the new girl a heart attack.

This was just OK.

I was struggling a little.

This was the pick and I think I got the news on my way to a coffee shop where I drew the finished cartoon.

I drew this before I got the news of the selection.

And this.

And this.

My favorite of the Nikki cartoons was the one I thought of the next day while attending the Libertarian convention.

Which of these are your favorites?

By the way, it’s my birthday. Ugh…getting old. AmIRight?
