Get Out!

I’m not a fan of Piers Morgan.  I wasn’t a fan of Larry King either.  I always felt they dumbed down the interview process and weren’t really intelligent enough for TV journalism.

Piers is worse than King.  While King was merely out of his element Piers oversteps the bounds of an interviewer.  It’s your subjects you want to interview and find out their viewpoints.  An interview show should not be a forum for the host to campaign on issues.  It’s tiresome.

Piers Morgan is a big advocate for gun control and he used the show to promote his views..  I probably agree with everything he ever said on the issue, but I don’t want to hear him say it.  This isn’t his country.  Now that he’s lost his show viewers and readers in his own country don’t want him back.  He’s a hack journalist who is also caught up in the phone-hacking scandal in England.

You may not agree with the likes of Rachel Maddow and I don’t agree with Bill O’Reilly, but both and many like them know their subjects and they know how to do their job.  I felt Morgan wasn’t qualified.  Morgan is still employed by CNN and they might find a spot for him elsewhere.

Conservatives hated the guy.  But don’t conservatives hate CNN in general?  It’s not his politics.  He’s just not a pleasant person to watch on TV.  They say having an English accent makes Americans think you’re smarter and even that didn’t help Piers Morgan.

The FCC wanted to study how editors and reporters got their information and how they chose stories.  There was such an uproar that they dropped it.  The thing is, the FCC doesn’t have any authority over print journalism.  That’s a huge overreach.  While they’re at it, they need to stay out of TV journalism and all journalism altogether.

  1. No, conservatives don’t hate CNN in general. I would rate it as just OK. Wolf Blitzer is pretty good. As far as conservatives go, we just wish most media outlets would cover issues without the bias that seems to be ingrained in people who get an education in journalism. It seems to me that CNN at times tries to do this, but often as not shows a liberal bias that it just can’t seem to resist.
