According to Maggie Haberman of The New York Times, one reason Kirstjen Nielsen hung in so long as the head of the Department of Homeland Security is that “she was aware how awful life would/will be for her on the outside,” given her role in defending Donald Trump’s policies. That should be the case for anyone who has served, currently serving, or going to serve in the Trump White House. All these people should be treated like the guy who directed Billy Squier’s “Rock Me Tonight” video. Who the hell wants to work with that guy?
Nielsen did not create Trump’s policy of separating migrant families, but she should be known forever as the person who carried it out. She separated families, put babies in cages, and lied to Congress that the policy didn’t exist. She should get the Aldo Raine treatment so she can be “ingloriously” identified with it for the rest of her life. Now, the inept Trump administration says it can take up to two years to identify thousands of separated migrant children.
After John Kelly left his post as Chief of Staff, Nielsen was left without any allies in the White House. She was expected to be even tougher on the border, even if laws were violated. Apparently, that’s where she stood her ground and her enemies used it against her, from son-in-law Jared Kushner, Chief of Staff Mick Mulvaney, National Security Adviser John Bolton to White House Adviser Stephen Miller. The person who was least happy with Nielsen was Trump himself, who really loves the child separation policy.
As legal experts challenge Trump’s authority to bypass a senior Homeland Security official in order to install a hand-picked acting head of the Cabinet agency that oversees immigration enforcement, it’s obvious the real director is Stephen Miller.
Miller has been guiding Trump’s hand with immigration and it’s being reported he’s seeking a purge of DHS, as the head of the Secret Service was also let go Monday. He’s most likely the biggest cheerleader of the U.S. ending all aid to Guatemala, Honduras, and El Salvador, or as Fox News described them, “Three Mexican countries.”
Miller may also be behind Trump telling Border agents not to let anyone into the country to press for asylum, thus forcing them to enter the country illegally where they can arrest and detain them. Yesterday, a court ordered a halt to Trump’s “remain in Mexico” policy, which forces certain non-Mexican asylum seekers to wait in Mexico during their court proceedings.
Trump and Baby Goebbels Miller are trying to create a situation for immigrants that’s worse in America than if they stayed home. While they are creating horrible conditions and hurdles for them, they can’t make it more discouraging than their homeland unless they start killing them. Let’s not give Baby Goebbels any ideas.
Ron Vitiello’s nomination to permanently lead Immigration and Customs Enforcement was pulled after Trump remarked that “we want to go in a tougher direction.” Nielsen wasn’t tough enough for Trump even as she carried out his policy of separating families and throwing babies in Jail. All signs, such as Trump saying “America is full,” are showing a return to that policy and even tougher measures.
Trump and Miller seek to make the United States a horrible place where nobody would dream of immigrating to. It’s becoming a place where many people dream of leaving.

Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen testified before the Democrat-controlled House Homeland Security Committee yesterday and insisted that the cages Customs and Border Protection (CBP) used to detain migrant and asylum-seeking kids aren’t really cages.
She told Committee Chair Bennie Thompson, “Sir, they are not cages, they are areas of the border facility that are carved out for the safety and protection of those who remain there while they’re being processed.”
Democrat Bonnie Watson Coleman asked Nielsen, “Does it differ from the cages you put your dogs in when you let them stay outside?” Nielsen answered, “Yes … it’s larger, it has facilities, it provides room to sit, to stand, to lay down…” Coleman interjected, “So does my dog’s cage.”
Nielsen kept arguing throughout the hearing that children who have been separated and lost under Trump’s dehumanizing immigration policies are not kept in cages…if we don’t call them cages.
Last year, more than 2,700 children were separated from their parents and detained by CBP with many parents deported without their children. Democrats and liberals are outraged. Trump supporters are also outraged over issues involving children, but not over any issues that actually exist. Like Trump’s call for a border wall, they’re crying about crises where there aren’t any.
If you watched any of the Conservative Political Action Conference, you would have heard the wingnuts scream about “infanticide” and the “culture of death,” which are their new talking points.
Speaking to CPAC, Mike Pence said, “With Democrats standing for late-term abortion and infanticide and a culture of death, I promise you this president, this party and this movement will always stand for the unborn.” You have probably seen similar rants on your tinfoil hat-wearing uncle’s Facebook page.
Senate Republicans failed to advance a bill last week called the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act. Basically, if it had become law, it would have forced doctors to “preserve the life and health” of a child born alive after an abortion attempt, regardless of the wishes of the parents.
Dr. Daniel Grossman, a professor of obstetrics, gynecology and reproductive sciences at the University of California, San Francisco, told The New York Times that an infant being born alive after an attempted abortion is extremely rare. Dr. Kristyn Brandi, a board member of Physicians for Reproductive Health, told Vox that she’d never even heard of such a case. She said, “This is a part of the false narrative around this bill and abortion later in pregnancy.”
One of the ways this can occur is if a condition threatens the life of both the mother and the fetus, and labor must be induced in order to save the mother’s life. It’s unlikely the infant would survive, but this bill would have forced a doctor to attempt to revive the child or face up to five years in prison.
Immigrant children separated from their families, kept in cages, and lost in the system, Republicans don’t worry about that so much. Extremely rare cases of a child being born alive after an abortion attempt to save the mother’s life? Republicans are outraged. While they scream “infanticide,” nobody is killing the baby who was born alive. That’s just as big of a lie as claiming Democrats are eating babies.

QAnon is this thing that started on the extreme fringes of the dark web in places like 4chan, and quickly spread to Youtube, Reddit, Twitter, and Facebook.
QAnon is a far-right conspiracy alleging a plot against Trump by the “deep state.” Q, who may be or several individuals, claims to be on the inside of the government and thousands of people believe this. Some of those people are Roseanne Barr, Alex Jones, and Jerome Corsi. Sean Hannity has even shared QAnon-related material on his Twitter account.
The book QAnon: An Invitation to the Great Awakening was supposedly written by 12 anonymous members of the group promoting the theory, and presents their ideas in what one customer review calls “a gentle way for uninformed ‘normies’ to find out what is really going on within the political class that have been ruling over us for decades.”
What are some of their ideas? The “deep state” involves President Obama and Hillary Clinton. Trump and Robert Mueller are actually working together and the Russiagate investigation is actually a ruse. Hillary Clinton is the leader of a Satanic cabal that feeds on the blood of children and profits off sex trafficking. And, Democrats eat babies. Yum. Those theories are almost as unbelievable as believing that Trump supporters read books.
It’s very easy to laugh at these people, and a lot of fun I might add. But, it’s dangerous to ignore them. One Q follower was arrested on terrorism charges after he drove an armored vehicle containing an AR-15, and blocking traffic on the Hoover Dam for 90 minutes. He was on a mission from Q to demand the Justice Department release the OIG report on the conduct of FBI agents during the investigation into Hillary Clinton’s server. The thing is, the OIG report had been released the day before, but he was demanding that they release the “real” one.
Members of the Q community have posted photos of Michael Avenatti’s office. Later, someone shared the picture of an as-of-yet unidentified man, appearing to be holding a cellphone in one hand, and a long, thin object in the other, standing in the street near the office, adding that a message “had been sent.” For what it’s worth, one of these nitwits posted a photo of what he/she thought was my house on a Facebook post. Shitweasels find that kind of stuff amusing.
In 2016, 4chan users spread a theory that Hillary Clinton was operating a child sex ring from the basement of Comet Ping Pong pizza parlor in Washington, DC. In December of that year, a North Carolina fucknut drove to the pizza parlor and fired three shots into Comet Ping Pong, fortunately without injuring anyone. He didn’t find any child sex slaves. He didn’t even find a basement. Do you know what was inside Comet Ping Pong’s pizza parlor? Pizza.
In 2015, a shooter went to an abortion clinic in Colorado Springs and killed three people because he believed the now debunked far-right videos that Planned Parenthood was selling dead-baby-body parts. And that conspiracy theory isn’t even on the fringe as several presidential candidates promoted the lie.
These people don’t care about children. They scream about abortion but they don’t care about a child after it’s alive. They sure don’t care about housing or feeding them. They definitely don’t care if Donald Trump throws them into cages. They would rather freak out about imagined issues than real ones because you don’t have to solve the fake ones. Plus, if it’s bullshit then you don’t have to know what you’re talking about.
These 4chan and QAnon people are unstable which seems to be a trait among Trump supporters…and Trump.
Trump is hate and he has a more than willing base that eats it up. For the rest of us, we have to live in a dangerous climate they’ve created.
Planned Parenthood is not selling the body parts of dead babies. Comet Ping Pong is not the base of a child-sex ring operated by Hillary Clinton. Democrats are not eating babies. Donald Trump is keeping children in cages. Which one are you more concerned with?

We’ve had tension and threats of war with North Korea since that nation was created at the start of the Korean War. Donald Trump took it to new heights when he started calling his fellow narcissist childish names like “Little Rocket Man” and threatened “fire and fury,” and Kim Jong Un returning the favor with “dotard.” After their summit, which didn’t produce anything concrete except blank checks that will have to be cashed at a later date, Trump took credit for defusing the situation. It was a crisis Trump created.
Now he wants credit for ending another crisis he created.
For the past six weeks, Trump, Attorney General Jeff Sessions, and Department of Homeland Security Director Kirsten Nielsen have waged a no-tolerance policy against people committing the misdemeanor of entering the nation illegally. Border Patrol can no longer use discretion in charging migrants with a crime, thus separating families. Border Patrol has backed up checkpoints, forcing migrants to enter at other points seeking asylum from violence in their own country, thus forcing them to break our laws before they can request asylum. From there, they are arrested and Trump and Company throw children, even babies and toddlers into detainment centers featuring murals of Trump, which are former Walmarts and tent camps in deserts.
Trump thought it was a great idea to hold children for ransom to get his border wall. Though, to win the optic war he would have to claim the policy was created by Democrats and the baby prisons were actually “tender age” detention centers.
Who could have seen the public would react so negatively to families being ripped apart and baby prisons? Apparently, the new normal isn’t ready for that yet.
Nielsen claimed the policy didn’t exist. Then she said the policy that didn’t exist couldn’t be fixed by the president. And then she watched the president supposedly fix it. She even got to keep the pen he used to sign it.
Trump made the same claim repeatedly. Finally, the optics got too bad for him. Photos were revealed of the child prisons and audio recordings were leaked of children crying for their parents. Even Republicans were coming out against him, and governors (even Republicans) were calling back their National Guard troops from being involved in the situation. Four airlines made statements refusing to transport children for the purpose of being ripped from their families. Microsoft’s employees called for their company not to be involved with any government department detaining kids. Kirstjen Nielsen was booed out of a Mexican restaurant and will probably have to use a fake name for reservations at Taco Bell.
Trump has lied about there being a requirement to separate families, that Democrats created the problem, and only Congress could fix it. He proved all that was a lie by signing an executive order to end the separation of families, though the title still shifts the blame, “Affording Congress an Opportunity to Address Family Separation” (the first version had “seperation,” which I’m assuming Kirstjen spelled). Trump said, “I didn’t like the sight or the feeling of families being separated.” That’s funny because he loved it when he created it. A recent poll says 55% of Republicans love it too. Trump sycophants say it’s fake news. They did not change this policy because they wanted to do the right thing. They had over six weeks for that. They changed the policy because of the coverage in the media.
Trump took credit for ending the crisis he created with a policy he claims he didn’t create that he said he couldn’t fix but signed an order to fix it that didn’t really fix it.
Trump signed an order that will end the separation of families, which he ordered to begin with. But, this order doesn’t do anything for the families who have already been torn apart. It doesn’t do anything for the over 2,000 children who are presently detained and being hidden throughout the country. It does not end “tender age” prisons. It’s not retroactive. It also creates family prisons, which Trump has ordered the Defense Department to start constructing.
The odds of the optics improving are as likely as Mexican restaurants sending Kirstjen Nielsen coupons for fajitas. Speaking of optics, news broke just this morning that immigrant children as young as 14 say they were beaten while handcuffed, locked up in solitary confinement, and left naked in concrete cells at a juvenile detention center in Virginia.
Trump says he doesn’t cave, which is another lie. He swore he’d never settle the lawsuit against his fake university before he settled for $25 million. David French, senior writer of the conservative National Review said, “According to any fair reading of the order, it represents a massive capitulation by the administration.” Trump has caved, though he’s going to continue trying to look tough.
Even before he caved, Trump was not looking tough. Tough isn’t ripping families apart and creating baby prisons out of tents in the desert.

A recent Quinnipiac Poll states 65% of American voters oppose the Trump policy of separating migrant children from their parents. The same study finds 55% of Republican voters are heartless, inhumane, unsympathetic, troglodyte, subhuman mongrels you don’t want to be stuck in an elevator with.
And there you have it. The majority of Trump supporters and MAGA heads love the idea of tearing brown families apart. It’s why Attorney General Jeff Sessions is giddy when explaining the hateful policy. It’s why Trump adviser and white supremacist advocate Stephen Miller is taking credit for the idea. It’s why Director of Homeland Security, whose first name is as traditional Native American as Sacagawea and Pocahontas, Kirstjen Nielson can claim she’s totally unaware of pictures, videos, and recordings of these children crying for their mothers. When I was a kid, Jaws scared the hell out of me but I couldn’t forget I saw it.
A racist base is why the President of the United States, who has married two immigrants, can shed all appearances of governing for all the people, and hold migrant children hostage until Congress gives him ten billion dollars to break his campaign promise of Mexico paying for it, and build a wall on the border with Mexico. Hillary was right. These people are deplorable, and they’re proud of it. Trump his holding the children hostage and blaming Democrats for making him do it. This policy is so heartless and inhumane, that even Ted Cruz is against it and trying to stop it.
The thing is, Trump can stop this. He can stop it right now. He doesn’t need legislation to stop ripping families apart. George W. Bush and Barack Obama governed under the same law, and they didn’t go to town ripping families apart, stacking the kids in cages in abandoned box stores, and making plans to place them in tent prisons to share in the desert with Gila Monsters.
Jeff Sessions said it’s unfair to compare this situation to how Jews were treated in Nazi Germany, because “the Nazis were keeping the Jews from leaving the country.” Yes. The Nazis loved the Jews so much, they were begging them not to leave Germany. Please don’t go, Jews. No. That’s not right and someone buy the Attorney General a history book. The Nazis actually shipped them out of Germany in death trains. But he does have a point about the comparison. We’re not gassing these immigrants or tearing out their fillings to melt down and store the gold in Switzerland, so at least there’s that.
Last week, Trump endorsed South Carolina Congressman Mark Sanford’s opponent in the Republican primary because Sanford “wouldn’t help him MAGA,” make America great again. That wasn’t true. Sanford was MAGAing all over the place. Trump just didn’t like Sanford’s public opinion he should release his tax returns.
What is “MAGA?” MAGA is returning America to when white people had full control over government policy (which it never really lost). MAGA is making white people feel like someone is protecting them from being disenfranchised. MAGA is gaslighting and using the Joseph Goebbels method of propaganda. MAGA is emboldening white supremacists and Nazis to crawl out of the sewers where they’ve been hiding and bask in the sunlight. MAGA is being able to listen to children cry for their parents and not want to do anything to help them. MAGA is hearing those cries and continuing to use them as political leverage.
Trump ran a campaign on racism. He accused Mexico of sending their worst people to the U.S. and called them “rapists” and “murderers” minutes after riding slowly down the escalator to announce his candidacy. He said being of Mexican descent was why a judge was unfit to sit on one of his many lawsuits.
Trump said, “I hate the children are being taken away.” He could have stopped at, “I hate the children.”

Americans love to say America is the greatest country in the world. The new doctrine for our foreign policy is “We’re America, bitch.” But, I’m pretty sure the greatest country in the world wouldn’t separate children from their parents and imprison them in tents in the desert. Maybe there was some confusion, and they were supposed to be in tent prisons with dessert. Spelling is a challenge for this White House.
Obviously inspired by the recently pardoned Joe Arpaio (the racist law-breaking criminal sheriff in Arizona), the Trump administration is looking to place 1,000-5,000 immigrant children in tent cities in the desert. The number of migrant children the government has apprehended has increased by 20% since a “zero-tolerance” policy was initiated by Attorney General Jeff Sessions and Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen (who doesn’t know Norway is mostly white but knows a brown kid when she sees one). The new policy ordered the Border Patrol to refer anyone crossing the border illegally for criminal prosecution, no matter the situation. Some people being incarcerated haven’t crossed illegally, as they went to the Border Patrol and requested asylum, which we don’t grant anymore for people whose lives are threatened by gangs or spousal abuse.
The number of children currently held by the government is over 11,200 at some 100 facilities (with Trump murals and re-education classes) to hold them are around 95% full. One solution would be to stop separating children from their parents and throwing them all in jail, which sounds a little better than throwing toddlers to cacti and rattlesnakes. But, maybe the Trump murals will ward off the snakes and Gila Monsters.
Sessions justified this abuse of government policy by quoting the Bible. He cited Romans 13 when he said, “to obey the laws of the government because God has ordained the government for his purposes.” Funny thing. That’s the same verse used by Southerners to justify owning slaves in the 1800s. Scary thing: Sessions probably knows that.
Sarah Huckabee Sanders is a church goer as well. During a White House press briefing Thursday, Sanders was insulting members of the press (they really hate Jim Acosta) and using the Bible defense. She said, “I can say that it is very biblical to enforce the law. That is actually repeated a number of times throughout the Bible. It’s a moral policy to follow and enforce the law.”
I haven’t seen a government use religion to justify policy this much since the Taliban.
There are probably a lot of quotes from the Bible that can be used to defend this administration.
There’s, “Thou shall not grab strange vaginas, unless thou is famous.”
And then there’s, “Thou shall not boast about grabbing strange vaginas to a reality TV host on a bus unless it’s just locker room talk.”
Plus, “Do not shag a porn star unless she’s willing to sign a non-disclosure agreement.”
I think this one was added yesterday: “Thou shall not salute a North Korean General unless his large hat is really spiffy.”
I’m gonna let you in on a secret. I made those up. But, here’s one that’s genuine: From Deuteronomy 10:18-19, “God loves the foreigner residing among you, giving them food and clothing. And you are to love those who are foreigners, for you yourselves were foreigners in Egypt.”
But, maybe I’m doing it wrong, and we’re only supposed to quote Old Testament God and not Hippy God.

Senator Jeff Merkley, a Democrat from Oregon, visited a detention center in Texas last week and described the facility. He said, “What you have is cyclone fencing and fence posts that look like cages. They look like the way you would construct a dog kennel.”
Jeff Sessions’ Justice Department hit back, saying they don’t employ the use of cages, but use fenced barriers. Basically, they’re cages but they don’t want you to use the word “cage,” and especially not “dog cages.”
Though Merkley saw the cages, security wouldn’t let him, a United States Senator, enter the facility, and eventually the police were called to shoo him away.
A spokesperson for the Administration of Children and Families said Merkley wasn’t allowed in for security reasons and said, “No one who arrives unannounced at one of our shelters demanding access to the children in our care will be permitted, even those claiming to be U.S. Senators.”
Uh, he wasn’t just claiming to be a U.S. Senator. He is a U.S. Senator. On the video, he had to tell the security guard more than once he was a Senator, as the guy didn’t seem like he could comprehend the information.
The Justice Department doesn’t want surprise visits to these facilities, especially if cameras are brought along. They want advance notice so they can clean up the place. It’s kinda like when your landlord wants to come by, but you want a heads up so you can make sure your house doesn’t smell like you own seven cats. As it turns out, Merkley did send a request two days in advance of his visit. Senator Robert Menendez was denied visitation of a facility in California, despite sending a request nine days ahead.
The Senator was attempting to show the American people how the Trump policy of ripping children away from their parents actually looks. The Administration is giddy about arresting anyone for crossing the border illegally, and if children are brought along, they’ll be separated from their parents and crammed inside dog cages.
Trump tweeted blame at the Democrats for his administration stripping children from their parents, despite his party controlling the executive branch, the House, and the Senate. And for good measure, he said they support MS-13. I guess one lie in the tweet wasn’t enough.
The United Nations says the Trump policy violates human rights and is against international law. Nikki Haley fired back the U.N. is practicing hypocrisy by attacking the U.S. while ignoring human rights violations of other members. The condition Haley is suffering from is called whataboutism. It’s very contagious among Trump sycophants, so be careful out there.
The administration says this policy is to prevent illegal border crossings, but that’s a total lie. Many of these separations have occurred at border crossing stations with immigrants requesting asylum. That is not an illegal crossing.
While blaming Democrats for his policy of separating children from parents by saying they passed “bad legislation,” there are not any laws requiring that parents be separated from their children, and the practice was put in place by his administration. Jeff Sessions loves this kind of stuff. You know, because of the racism. He almost squeals when he talks about it. Chief of Staff John Kelly raised the idea of this policy, you know, because of the racism.
The New York Times found that over 700 children have been ripped from their parents over a period of six months. The American Civil Liberties Union says it’s accelerated, and that over 1,000 have been taken over the past five weeks.
The U.N. created a human rights treaty called Convention of the Rights of a Child, which sets out the civil, political, economic, social, health and cultural rights of children. Only one nation in the world has not ratified the treat. Do you wanna guess which nation that is?
Mitt Romney, who famously strapped the family dog to the roof his car in a crate for a road trip from Massachusetts to Ontario, says he’s more of an immigration hawk than Trump. Despite calling Trump a “conman” in 2016, he said he’ll easily be re-elected in 2020.
Trump’s record on human rights is just one of about 2,000 reasons why that can’t be allowed to happen.

The United States government has been separating immigrant children from their parents in Trump’s New World Order of Chaos and Uncaring. Just in case that’s not heartless enough, they’ve also lost track of nearly 1,500 children who crossed the border alone (that is, unaccompanied by adults).
Christian conservatives are outraged. They’re demanding answers, justice, compassion, and they’re about to storm the White House and Congress until this situation is explained and rectified.
Nah, just kidding. We’re talking about actual children here and not 1,500 fetuses.
The Department of Health and Human Services place unaccompanied minors with sponsors and from there; they throw their arms in the air and say, “not our problem anymore.”
From The Washington Post, “From October to December 2017, HHS called 7,635 children the agency had placed with sponsors, and found 6,075 of the children were still living with their sponsors, 28 had run away, five had been deported and 52 were living with someone else. The rest was missing.” HHS argues that they’re not their responsibility after being placed with sponsors.”
It’s not just about legal responsibility, but humanity and compassion. Senator Rob Portman of Ohio pointed out those federal officials handed eight children over to human traffickers who put them to work on an egg farm in Ohio. If immigrant children could actually lay eggs, there’d probably be a lot more handed over for trafficking.
Earlier in the month, Attorney General Jeff Sessions said the Justice Department will begin prosecuting everyone who crosses the southern border illegally, even if they’re seeking asylum. So, if you’re entering the United States illegally, take my advice and do it on an airplane and do it while being white. Most people who enter this nation illegally don’t enter through our border with Mexico. Most enter legally, through the air, and overstay their visas.
Other facts: Only about three percent of immigrants here illegally have been convicted of felonies or serious misdemeanors. Most have been here over a decade. More than 30% own homes. They don’t collect welfare. They pay taxes. The majority of people here who have overstayed their visas are from Canada.
This brings us to the stupid, racist border wall Trump has proposed. He is blaming Democrats for the missing children. He claims he’s for a pathway to citizenship for children who were brought here illegally, but only if he gets his wall. But, the wall won’t stop airplanes. The wall won’t stop someone from overstaying their visa. The wall won’t stop ladders. The wall is a racist prop.
Trump’s daughter and adviser (which is a ridiculous sentence I have to write), Ivanka, posted a pic on social media snuggling her son. Awwww. Critics quickly criticized her attempt at posing as the perfect family while there are children being ripped apart from their parents. But, in Ivanka’s defense, she’s rich and white. Plus, if it makes you feel better, in her pursuit of children issues, she was just awarded several new trademarks in China where little tiny fingers will now be making her designer handbags. I knew you’d feel better.
The new normal is being heartless, uncompassionate, uncaring, and just not giving a rat’s ass unless it’s you or one of your rich cohorts. And if you’re a middle-class or poor white person who is really enjoying the treatment of people with a darker skin tone than yours, don’t celebrate too much. Because Trump doesn’t really care about you either.
