Kids In Cages

The Captors’ Resumes

cjones08072019

Trump’s pick to be the new director of national intelligence, John Ratcliffe, has multiple embellishments on his resumé.

He claims on his website and in campaign material that he tried suspects accused of funneling money to Hamas. As it turns out, that’s not true. He never prosecuted a case in the matter.

He was an interim U.S. attorney for the Eastern District of Texas during George W. Bush’s administration. He was basically a placeholder in the position. But, Ratcliffe claims he oversaw terrorism cases, plural. The only example of any significant cases that concern national security is one trial where he prosecuted an Iraq War veteran who pleaded guilty to possessing a pipe bomb.

Ratcliffe also claims that during his time at U.S. attorney that he “arrested” over 300 illegal aliens in a single day that were illegally employed by chicken processing plants in five states. His House website makes the same claim. He did help bring charges against 280 noncitizens on identity fraud charges and other crimes to secure employment, but he didn’t arrest anyone. Even Matlock has more arrests than Ratcliffe because he was Sheriff of Mayberry first.

He also claimed on his 2016 campaign website and in a bio on his House website that he “put terrorists in prison.” This was the case involving a Muslim charity sending money to Hamas. Three former government lawyers and a former senior FBI official, when asked about John Ratcliffe’s involvement, said, “who?” They said he didn’t contribute any substance to the case. Plus, there were no convictions against the charity. One attorney said the mistrial hit the Justice Department like a “two-by-four in the middle of the forehead.” This is what Ratcliffe is basing his claim of putting “terrorists in prison.”

Also, it turns out he was never a member of the Backstreet Boys and didn’t co-write “I Want It That Way.”

The director of intelligence should have actual experience with national intelligence. The man Ratcliffe is replacing, Dan Coats, did not have to pad his resume. Coats predecessor, James Clapper, served as undersecretary of defense for intelligence, director of the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (ask Ratcliffe or Trump what that is), and as director of the Defense Intelligence Agency. He was unanimously confirmed by the Senate. Later, Trump revoked Clapper’s security clearance because he said negative things about Trump. Ratcliffe, on the hand, has skeptics in his own party. He’s less of an actual analyst of intelligence and more of a Trump cultist.

Donald Trump also likes to boastéé about accomplishments he’s never accomplished. At one of his campaign stops, he displayed Trump steaks that were NOT Trump steaks and were actually purchased at a local butcher shop. Trump also did NOT help at the site of the World Trade Center, as he claimed earlier this week. In reality, after the WTC fell down from the attack by al Qaida, he boasted about how he now had the tallest building in New York City. And, just in case you’re a Trump revisionist, he didn’t “create” this economy. Like most things he has, Trump inherited a great economy. Unlike the fortune he claims he built but was inherited from his father, he inherited the economy from Barack Obama.

And, when Trump is throwing children into cages, he’s not locking up MS-13 gang members. In 2018, Trump said unaccompanied minors “look so innocent but aren’t in reality.” His acting commissioner of Customs and Border Protection, Mark Morgan, once told Fox News that he can tell which unaccompanied minors will become gang members by looking into their eyes. He told Tucker Carlson, “I’ve looked into their eyes and said, ‘that is a soon-to-be MS-13 gang member.'” Apparently, Mark Morgan got the job after Miss Cleo turned it down.

While MS-13 is horrible and violent and everything you should hate, they’re not invading the country or posing as fake families. MS-13 was created in the United States and it recruits within the U.S. They don’t import. They’re not even that large of an organization. According to the Justice Department, the gang only accounts for 10,000 of the 1.4 million gang members nationwide. They’re not growing as they had the same number of members a decade ago. They average about 35 murders a year nationwide, which is fewer than murders committed by gangs you never heard of, and possibly fewer than those committed by Trump supporters. If Trump wants to focus on gang activity, he should direct his agencies to combat all of it, not just focus on the one that’s meat for his racist base.

When you think about it, when someone kills minorities in this nation while echoing Trump’s racist rhetoric, that makes Trump a recruiter of terrorists. Donald Trump is more dangerous to American communities than MS-13.

Ratcliffe has never arrested a terrorist in his life. Neither has Donald Trump. Instead, Trump is throwing kids in cages.

Childish Drawings

cjones07082019

When asked to express themselves over being detained by Donald Trump, the first thing that comes from migrant children are cages.

A charitable humanitarian respite center in Texas asked three children, ages 10 and 11, to depict their time in the custody of Trump’s US Customs and Border Protection agency. They didn’t draw sunshine, unicorns, and rainbows. All three children drew people in cages. After the traumatizing experience of leaving their homes to seek asylum in the United States, the Trump administration compounded their trauma by ripping them apart from their families and imprisoning them in cages. This is torture and will leave these children with scars they’ll carry for the rest of their lives.

A social worker at the center gave the drawings to the American Academy of Pediatrics, who then gave them to CNN. Dr. Colleen Kraft, immediate past president of the AAP said, “When a child draws this, it’s telling us that child felt like he or she was in jail.”

The pediatrician group was asked for advice from Kevin McAleenan, who is now the acting secretary of the Homeland Security, who then ignored their advice.

Kraft said, “we made recommendations and our government didn’t follow through with them.” They believe training CBP agents in identifying illnesses will prevent future deaths at the centers, where two children have already died.

The AAP visited one of the centers and didn’t find any pediatricians, but what they did find disgusted them. Dr. Sara Goza, president of the AAP said when visiting two CBP facilities, “The first thing that hit me when we walked in the door was the smell. It was the smell of sweat, urine, and feces. No amount of time spent in these facilities is safe for children.”

Donald Trump disagrees. He claimed in a tweet that many of “these illegal aliens are living better now than where they came from, and in safer conditions.” He also tweeted, “If illegal immigrants are unhappy with the conditions in the quickly built or refitted detention centers, just tell them not to come. All problems solved!” The rest of his tirade was blaming Democrats.

You know, it’s like Trump wants the conditions of these centers to be leaked out, despite barring the press, health and child care professionals, and elected representatives from visiting. Just like the child-separation policy was designed to discourage immigrants from seeking asylum, they’re hoping the horrid and traumatizing conditions at these facilities will do the same.

Senator and presidential candidate Kamala Harris called Donald Trump a “predator” yesterday. Some people are saying she took it too far. I don’t think she took it far enough. Donald Trump is a predator and has even boasted about it. But, he’s so much more. The man is a child abuser. What he’s doing is traumatizing children for life. His detention centers are torture chambers and concentration camps. Call Trump and the centers for what they are.

Hopefully, someday, I’ll get to draw Trump in a cage.

What kind of person would want to be part of something that disparages, slanders, and disrespects Dear Leader and his sycophantic followers? Hopefully, you.
Making a contribution supports my work and keeps the cartoons, columns, and videos coming. My income is from newspapers that subscribe to my work and small contributors. Eat Your Conspiracy

cjones03112019

Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen testified before the Democrat-controlled House Homeland Security Committee yesterday and insisted that the cages Customs and Border Protection (CBP) used to detain migrant and asylum-seeking kids aren’t really cages.

She told Committee Chair Bennie Thompson, “Sir, they are not cages, they are areas of the border facility that are carved out for the safety and protection of those who remain there while they’re being processed.”

Democrat Bonnie Watson Coleman asked Nielsen, “Does it differ from the cages you put your dogs in when you let them stay outside?” Nielsen answered, “Yes … it’s larger, it has facilities, it provides room to sit, to stand, to lay down…” Coleman interjected, “So does my dog’s cage.”

Nielsen kept arguing throughout the hearing that children who have been separated and lost under Trump’s dehumanizing immigration policies are not kept in cages…if we don’t call them cages.

Last year, more than 2,700 children were separated from their parents and detained by CBP with many parents deported without their children. Democrats and liberals are outraged. Trump supporters are also outraged over issues involving children, but not over any issues that actually exist. Like Trump’s call for a border wall, they’re crying about crises where there aren’t any.

If you watched any of the Conservative Political Action Conference, you would have heard the wingnuts scream about “infanticide” and the “culture of death,” which are their new talking points.

Speaking to CPAC, Mike Pence said, “With Democrats standing for late-term abortion and infanticide and a culture of death, I promise you this president, this party and this movement will always stand for the unborn.” You have probably seen similar rants on your tinfoil hat-wearing uncle’s Facebook page.

Senate Republicans failed to advance a bill last week called the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act. Basically, if it had become law, it would have forced doctors to “preserve the life and health” of a child born alive after an abortion attempt, regardless of the wishes of the parents.

Dr. Daniel Grossman, a professor of obstetrics, gynecology and reproductive sciences at the University of California, San Francisco, told The New York Times that an infant being born alive after an attempted abortion is extremely rare. Dr. Kristyn Brandi, a board member of Physicians for Reproductive Health, told Vox that she’d never even heard of such a case. She said, “This is a part of the false narrative around this bill and abortion later in pregnancy.”

One of the ways this can occur is if a condition threatens the life of both the mother and the fetus, and labor must be induced in order to save the mother’s life. It’s unlikely the infant would survive, but this bill would have forced a doctor to attempt to revive the child or face up to five years in prison.

Immigrant children separated from their families, kept in cages, and lost in the system, Republicans don’t worry about that so much. Extremely rare cases of a child being born alive after an abortion attempt to save the mother’s life? Republicans are outraged. While they scream “infanticide,” nobody is killing the baby who was born alive. That’s just as big of a lie as claiming Democrats are eating babies.

According to a new book on Amazon’s best-seller list, Democrats are eating babies. Democrats, dingos, what’s the difference?

QAnon is this thing that started on the extreme fringes of the dark web in places like 4chan, and quickly spread to Youtube, Reddit, Twitter, and Facebook.

QAnon is a far-right conspiracy alleging a plot against Trump by the “deep state.” Q, who may be or several individuals, claims to be on the inside of the government and thousands of people believe this. Some of those people are Roseanne Barr, Alex Jones, and Jerome Corsi. Sean Hannity has even shared QAnon-related material on his Twitter account.

The book QAnon: An Invitation to the Great Awakening was supposedly written by 12 anonymous members of the group promoting the theory, and presents their ideas in what one customer review calls “a gentle way for uninformed ‘normies’ to find out what is really going on within the political class that have been ruling over us for decades.”

What are some of their ideas? The “deep state” involves President Obama and Hillary Clinton. Trump and Robert Mueller are actually working together and the Russiagate investigation is actually a ruse. Hillary Clinton is the leader of a Satanic cabal that feeds on the blood of children and profits off sex trafficking. And, Democrats eat babies. Yum. Those theories are almost as unbelievable as believing that Trump supporters read books.

It’s very easy to laugh at these people, and a lot of fun I might add. But, it’s dangerous to ignore them. One Q follower was arrested on terrorism charges after he drove an armored vehicle containing an AR-15, and blocking traffic on the Hoover Dam for 90 minutes. He was on a mission from Q to demand the Justice Department release the OIG report on the conduct of FBI agents during the investigation into Hillary Clinton’s server. The thing is, the OIG report had been released the day before, but he was demanding that they release the “real” one.

Members of the Q community have posted photos of Michael Avenatti’s office. Later, someone shared the picture of an as-of-yet unidentified man, appearing to be holding a cellphone in one hand, and a long, thin object in the other, standing in the street near the office, adding that a message “had been sent.” For what it’s worth, one of these nitwits posted a photo of what he/she thought was my house on a Facebook post. Shitweasels find that kind of stuff amusing.

In 2016, 4chan users spread a theory that Hillary Clinton was operating a child sex ring from the basement of Comet Ping Pong pizza parlor in Washington, DC. In December of that year, a North Carolina fucknut drove to the pizza parlor and fired three shots into Comet Ping Pong, fortunately without injuring anyone. He didn’t find any child sex slaves. He didn’t even find a basement. Do you know what was inside Comet Ping Pong’s pizza parlor? Pizza.

In 2015, a shooter went to an abortion clinic in Colorado Springs and killed three people because he believed the now debunked far-right videos that Planned Parenthood was selling dead-baby-body parts. And that conspiracy theory isn’t even on the fringe as several presidential candidates promoted the lie.

These people don’t care about children. They scream about abortion but they don’t care about a child after it’s alive. They sure don’t care about housing or feeding them. They definitely don’t care if Donald Trump throws them into cages. They would rather freak out about imagined issues than real ones because you don’t have to solve the fake ones. Plus, if it’s bullshit then you don’t have to know what you’re talking about.

These 4chan and QAnon people are unstable which seems to be a trait among Trump supporters…and Trump.

Trump is hate and he has a more than willing base that eats it up. For the rest of us, we have to live in a dangerous climate they’ve created.

Planned Parenthood is not selling the body parts of dead babies. Comet Ping Pong is not the base of a child-sex ring operated by Hillary Clinton. Democrats are not eating babies. Donald Trump is keeping children in cages. Which one are you more concerned with?
