Roughs, Volume 238

Most of these are drawn about congestion pricing in New York City.

This was my first idea, and then I turned it into this cartoon which I liked much better. This was drawn on Thursday, June 6. This was not submitted to CNN.

My editor wrote me last Thursday night, June 6, assigning the subject of congestion pricing in New York City. The plan was in place to take effect at the end of June, but Governor Kathy Hochul suddenly suspended the program indefinitely. I liked this cartoon because it made Pizza Rat the star for once.

I was afraid my editor might choose this one, and I really didn’t want to draw a traffic jam again so soon after the last one.

I kinda liked this one.

I thought this was OK too.

This is the one my editor picked and while I thought it was the right call, I was worried about how I’d draw it. It turned into this.

Meh. I didn’t love it and I was wondering how many ideas I could come up with on this issue.

I drew this the next day, on Saturday, June 8, but realized I was tired of cartoons about dropping the soap and Steve Bannon being dirty, so I did this cartoon instead.

Which of these are your favorites?
