People need the Medicaid Expansion. Without it millions will go without the healthcare they need, and or pay higher prices for their insurance.
Each state gets to decide to expand or not. The Federal government will pay 100% of the expansion for the first three years, then 90% afterward. So why not expand it? In Virginia and many other states Republicans are saying no because it’s government spending and they argue they don’t trust the federal government. Of course the biggest reason is that it might make Obama look good, thus making the Affordable Health Care Act look good. Republicans complain when it doesn’t work, then do everything in their power to keep it from working.
Hey, it’s just politics. Who cares if anyone dies? Right?
Here’s another funny thing: Medicaid is already a federal program which Virginia taxpayers pay into…except many won’t have access to it despite that.
