The sequel also shows the disparity between the two men. President Biden has pardoned all federal offenses of simple marijuana possession. Donald Trump wants to pardon the racist MAGAt goons who attempted a violent coup.
The president needs to go further and push for the legalization of marijuana. Currently, the Department of Justice classifies marijuana in a higher schedule than fentanyl. That’s bullshit. From April 2020 to April 2021, over 64,000 Americans died from fentanyl. Fentanyl is a synthetic opioid that is 80 to 100 times stronger than morphine. Marijuana doesn’t kill anybody.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says a fatal overdose of marijuana is unlikely. An overdose on marijuana is impossible in the traditional sense, says Jason Levine, PhD, a psychologist, and addiction treatment expert. You are more likely to overdose on Taco Bell from the munchies created by using marijuana than overdosing on marijuana. Marijuana shouldn’t be classified as being more dangerous than fentanyl.
For a comparison you can understand: Joe Biden is a pot brownie and Donald Trump is fentanyl wrapped in a crack sandwich garnished with heroin and dog shit.
President Biden has encouraged the nation’s governors to pardon marijuana offenders on the state level. Several Democratic governors and gubernatorial candidates are planning to do so. Republican governors, not so much.
President Biden said, “Just as no one should be in a federal prison solely for possessing marijuana, no one should be in a local jail or state prison for that reason, either.”
A spokesgoon for Texas Governor Greg Abbott said, “Texas is not in the habit of taking criminal justice advice from the leader of the defund police party and someone who has overseen a criminal justice system run amuck with cashless bail and a revolving door for violent criminals.”
In the words of Sarah Sanderson in Hocus Pocus, “Amuck, amuck, amuck, amuck, amuck, amuck.” That makes more sense than what Abbott’s spokesgoon said. “Defund the police party”? Bullshit. The Republican Party is the insurrection party.
Greg Abbott signed a law allowing posses to go after people who provide abortions. If Abbott is ever prosecuted for violating human rights by deporting immigrants to blue states, I hope he remembers his position on pardoning criminals.
Arkansas Governor Asa Hutchinson said Biden’s move is a “flag of surrender in the fight to save lives from drug abuse.” Smoking marijuana is not “drug abuse.” Many people don’t even believe marijuana is a drug. I’m one of them.
Personally, I don’t like marijuana. That’s my choice. I don’t like being high. It makes me extremely paranoid. Plus, it kills my throat. I’m just not into it. But I don’t care if you do it. So what? I’ve been in too many bands to have an issue with people smoking pot. Smoking marijuana rarely hurts anyone, if ever. Prosecuting and incarcerating people who possess marijuana is a waste of federal money. Beer is more dangerous than marijuana.
And a lot of conservatives are in favor of legalizing marijuana. Republicans need to be careful with this.
Biden and every Democrat need to come out in favor of full legalization. And every Republican should join them. And pardoning people convicted for possessing marijuana is a lot better than pardoning people who attempted a violent coup to install an unelected orange dictator.
Donald Trump has spoken publicly of pardoning his insurrectionists if he’s returned to the White House. We can’t let that happen.
I’ll take the stoners over the racist democracy-hating Russia-loving insurrectionists any day.
That’s it for the blog. I have a plane to catch.

We have found out which members of Congress asked the White House for a pardon. The list includes Andy Biggs, Mo Brooks, Matt Gaetz, Louie Gohmert, Scott Perry, and Marjorie Taylor Greene. Each were part of the Big Lie that Trump “won” the election and helped try to overturn the election their party lost. Each are enemies of democracy and support fascism.
Trump’s former head of presidential personnel, Johnny McEntee, testified that Trump “had hinted at a blanket pardon for the Jan. 6 thing for anybody.” That’s exactly what Matt Gaetz asked for, a “blanket pardon.”
Eric Herschmann, a White House lawyer for Trump, testified that Gaetz asked for a blanket pardon like the one Richard Nixon got from President Ford for his coverup of Watergate. Herschmann testified, “He mentioned Nixon, and I said, ‘Nixon’s pardon was never nearly that broad.’”
You probably know that Matt Gaetz is currently under an FBI investigation for sex trafficking minors. If he’s innocent of that then why would he request a pardon? Hmm?
Cassidy Hutchinson, a former adviser to Trump’s Chief-of-Staff Mark Meadoes, testified that Gaetz, Gohmert, Perry, and Biggs all expressed interest in pardons. She also testified that Jim Jordan of Ohio “talked about” pardons but did not directly ask for one, and that she heard of newly elected Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia also expressing interest to the White House Counsel’s Office. MTG should have gone to Jared.
Once upon a time, it would have been considered unfathomable to keep serving in Congress after admitting you committed a crime, because asking for a presidential pardon is a confession of guilt. There was a time when members of Congress wouldn’t have looked the other way or made excuses for their law-breaking colleagues, even if they were members of their own party. But now, the Republican Party is the party that tried to overturn an election and commit a coup. The GOP tried to destroy democracy…and they’re still trying.
And maybe Dan Snyder should ask for a pardon even though no criminal charges have been brought up on him yet.
Just like with the Trumpers who refuse to testify before the January 6 Committee investigating Trump’s coup attempt, Washington Commanders owner Daniel Snyder is refusing to testify before the House Oversight Committee about the “toxic” workplace environment he created at the team. Snyder is too busy being on a French vacation to testify which is like some crap a Trumper would come up with.
There is a culture among these people from Trump to Snyder that they’re too important and entitled to comply with a congressional subpoean.
Committee Chairwoman Carolyn Maloney says Snyder “himself fostered” the football team’s “toxic workplace” and then “conducted a shadow investigation to target his accusers, pin the blame on others, and influence the NFL’s own internal review.”
She said Snyder “fired women but not men who engaged in relationships with other employees, while defending male executives accused of sexual harassment.”
She also said that Snyder sent private investigators to former cheerleaders’ homes, “offered hush money to buy their silence,” created a “dossier” of communications from journalists, attorneys and former employees who accused the team of harassment, and tried to blame former team President Bruce Allen for the team’s troubles. Maybe Snyder should have hired Rudy Giuliani to harass people. I hear he needs the work.
Maloney also said, “The NFL was aware of his actions, but failed to stop him.” It’s the NFL’s reluctance to make their own investigation of Snyder public that spurred the investigation by Congress, which Republicans like Jim Jordan are trying to discredit. Snyder, like the Trumpers, know that if the GOP retakes Congress that in January, all this will go away.
Despite refusing to make the findings of their investigation public, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell testified before the panel on Wednesday and said that the Commanders’ culture was “not only unprofessional, but toxic for far too long.”
He also said, “It is clear to me that the workplace in Washington was unprofessional and unacceptable in numerous respects: bullying, widespread disrespect toward colleagues, use of demeaning language, public embarrassment and harassment,” Goodell said. “Moreover, for a prolonged period of time, the Commanders had a woefully deficient HR function, particularly with respect to reporting practices and recordkeeping.”
The NFL fined the teams $10 million and Goodell seems to believe that with Snyder stepping aside to let his wife run the team, then everyone should just move on.
The billionaire boys club of NFL owners need to impeach Dan Snyder.
While Republicans are trying to discredit the hearings, Maloney noted that attorneys general in six states had told the NFL in April of their “grave concerns” about allegations of workplace harassment of women and minorities. And if the NFL isn’t going to protect these people, then Congress needs to step in and do it.
That’s what Congress should do, protect us from a toxic culture…like the culture of Republicans breaking laws, trying to overturn the government by throwing out elections, trying to install fascist groping dictators, and then asking for pardons for their all while continuing to serve in office while defending their crimes and continuing their lies.
Lock them all up, the coupers and the gropers.

Today’s cartoon is partly based on something you probably don’t know anything about. I hate to have to explain a cartoon, or even part of it, but I feel I must with this one.
President Biden has used a set of the White House for a few speeches, instead of doing them in the actual White House. It’s a sound stage located in the Eisenhower Executive Building which is a part of the White House grounds. It’s the kind of place you’ve seen without knowing you’re seeing it. When Al Gore gave his concession speech in 2000, it was from this building, perhaps in the same room as the one containing the sound stage. Ever watch the TV show Veep? Julia Louis-Dreyfus’ character’s office is in this building. Even Donald Trump has used it for signing documents in front of cameras. When President Biden got his first vaccine on camera, he did it in this room. Trump took his vaccine in a closet.
Why do they use this set instead of the White House? I’m not sure. Maybe you can get more people into it. Maybe the lighting is better. Baby Goebbels Steven Miller claims Biden uses it because he can use a monitor there that won’t reflect on his glasses or something like that, that can’t be used in the White House for some reason. But, Republicans are freaking out about this because President Biden has used it with a set that looks like it’s from the White House. There’s a fake Rose Garden behind him. For Republicans, this is as much of an outrage as mustard on a burger or a president in a grey suit. The reason you have not heard of this outrage is because it’s a fake outrage.
While people on Fox News are outraged, Qanon has used it as evidence that President Joe Biden is not president and Donald Trump is still in charge and in the actual White House. Never mind all the events, speeches, and videos of President Biden in the White House, or the fact Trump hasn’t been in the capital since inauguration day when he fled to Mar-a-Lago with his tail between his legs.
This is fake outrage over a fake White House set by a bunch of fake patriots who believe in a fake president. Their fake president believes he has fake authority, like executive privilege.
The January 6 Committee investigating Trump’s coup attempt and attack on the Capitol have subpoenaed individuals from the Trump administration and documents. Trump has claimed executive privilege over the documents and is telling his subpoenaed goons not to cooperate. Goons like Steve Bannon, who already did so much gooning for Trump that he had to get a Trump pardon.
Trump is trying to assert privilege over 45 specific documents identified by the National Archives as responsive to the committee’s request. Those documents, Trump said in a two-page letter to Archivist of the United States David Ferriero, included protected “presidential communications,” as well as deliberative process materials and attorney-client privileged materials.
Trump also wants to preemptively declare future requests by the panel, “potentially numbering in the millions,” as presumptively barred from release. He wrote, or some lawyer for him, “Should the committee persist in seeking other privileged information, I will take all necessary and appropriate steps to defend the Office of the Presidency.”
It’s funny to hear someone claim they’re “protecting the presidency” after he tried to replace it with a fascist dictatorship.
A lawyer for Steve Bannon told the House committee that Bannon would refuse to comply with any subpoenas or investigation because of Trump’s claim he can invoke executive privilege to block Bannon’s testimony. Even if Trump can invoke executive privilege, Bannon was years removed from the White House, was not a part of the Trump administration at the time of the election or attack on the Capitol, and is not Trump’s lawyer. Trump, even if was still president, cannot claim every conversation he has is privileged. Also, you don’t have attorney-client privilege when your attorney was a partner in your criminal activities. Ask Michael Cohen.
Here’s the fun part, kids: President Biden, the actual president, is not going to allow Trump to invoke executive privilege over the documents the committee seeks. White House counsel Dana Remus wrote the National Archive, where these documents are being preserved, “After my consultations with the Office of Legal Counsel at the Department of Justice, President Biden has determined than an assertion of executive privilege is not in the best interests of the United States, and therefore is not justified as to any of the Documents.”
Trump has 30 days to challenge this in court, which will also be an acknowledgement that Biden won the election. But, I expect this court challenge to fail like most Trump challenges in courts fail. Maybe he should get Sidney Powell and Rudy Giuliani to argue the case. Oops, that’s right. Rudy can’t practice law in New York City or Washington, D.C. right now because he’s been cited for lying in court. Lawyers aren’t supposed to do that. Plus, Rudy may be a witness. Also, Sidney should be a witness. But, it’s going to be fun to watch a former president (sic) challenge the authority of a current president.
What the House needs to do is charge every Trump goon who refuses to comply with criminal contempt. They refused to charge non-complying witnesses during the Trump administration, like when John Bolton didn’t want to testify and give out information he was saving for his crappy book.
House Democrats, the Biden/Garland Justice Department, and Joe Biden, the real president, need to come down hard in this investigation. The people they are seeking to testify aided and abetted a criminal act. These people tried to destroy our democracy and overturn an election through violence. There needs to be accountability.
And the final accountability will be Trump going to prison. And I’m talking about a real prison, not a fake one.

You can’t pretend you’re upset over supposed corruption from the Biden family while supporting Donald Trump’s pardon of corrupt Republican congressmen. These three congressmen were not merely accused. They were convicted. They were Duncan Hunter, Christopher Collins, and Steve Stockman. Hunter had used hundreds of thousands of dollars in campaign funds to pay for family vacations and theater tickets, and even to facilitate extramarital affairs (like pay for hotel rooms for boinking women who were not his wife). Collins used his congressional seat for insider trading. Stockman stole hundreds of thousands of dollars in donations that were meant for charity and voter education. Stockman’s attorney is Sidney Powell, the conspiracy lawyer who also represents pardoned goon Michael Flynn (who wants a military coup), and who Trump wants to appoint as a special prosecutor in his fictional election-fraud investigation. Hunter and Collins were two of the first in Congress to endorse Trump. All three men are convicts.
Extramarital affairs? Stealing from charity? Using your elected position to make money? These are all behaviors Donald Trump is very familiar with.
You can’t claim Donald Trump is draining the swamp when he’s pardoning the swamp. Donald Trump pardoned two people who were convicted of crimes as part of the investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election. Trump pardoned George Papadopoulos, who claimed was just a “coffee boy” on his campaign, and Alex van der Zwaan. Both men worked on the 2016 Trump Campaign and both lied to Robert Mueller during his investigation of Russian election meddling.
You can’t pretend Donald Trump is the law-and-order president when he pardons murderers. Donald Trump pardoned four military contractors convicted of killing 14 unarmed Iraqi civilians in Baghdad in 2007. Among those civilians were children. The four men worked for worked the Blackwater Worldwide security company which is owned by Eric Prince, the brother of the worst Secretary of Education this nation has ever had, Betsy DeVos.
Say, don’t we have an extradition treaty with Iraq?
House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff said, “If you lie to cover up for the President, you get a pardon. If you are a corrupt politician who endorsed Trump, you get a pardon. If you murder civilians while at war, you get a pardon.”
Here is a fun fact: 88 percent of Trump’s pardons have been for his goons, people associated with him. He’s either rewarding people for their loyalty, for their silence, or both.
Donald Trump also pardoned a state Republican legislator and two Border Patrol agents who shot and killed a suspected drug smuggler. Being that the guy shot was a suspected drug smuggler, an immigrants, and brown, it plays to his racist base.
You can’t complain about any corruption if you support Donald Trump, but we’ve been trying to tell you that for four years.
And last night, just three days before Christmas after he pardoned murderers and goons, he threatened to veto the stimulus bill. Scrooge was on a roll.
Donald Trump claims there’s too much pork in the bill, which he hasn’t read, and that there’s not enough for Americans hurt by the pandemic. He wants the $600 checks for Americans to be bumped up to $2,000. Hey, great idea. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi loves it. I love it. But why didn’t he say something while the bill was being negotiated? I understand he’s been too busy plotting his coup attempt, playing golf, and pardoning murderers…but if he was really interested in helping American families, he would have been president during the negotiations. Donald Trump should have been spending the past month and a half since the election doing the job of president instead of only doing for himself.
Whether Trump vetoes this bill or not, he’s playing politics with money Americans desperately need. We haven’t seen food lines this long since the Great Depression. Donald Trump wants to take this crisis and make it all about him. Unless Trump signs the bill, this action will delay the money people need. This is a great way for Donald Trump to prevent helping people while claiming he wants to help people. Ebenezer Scrooge couldn’t have planned this better.
Donald Trump, the man whose first order of business as president (sic) was to lie about crowd sizes and give himself a tax cut is pretending he cares about Americans.
The thing is, you can’t say you are a constitutionalist or care about American democracy if you support Donald Trump.

As we have all discovered over the past five years, and if you haven’t then you weren’t paying attention, Donald Trump projects.
The guy who had people chant “lock her up” at his hate rallies watched several of his friends be locked up. For others, he issued pardons. While accusing Joe and Hunter Biden of corruption in Ukraine, Trump and Rudy Giuliani were practicing corruption in Ukraine. All they could come up with were conspiracy theories accusing other people of what they were guilty of. Trump’s Ukraine actions made him an impeached president.
Naturally, an impeached president will pardon goons. Naturally, an impeached president only has goons as friends. If you are a friend of Donald Trump’s, you may want to reassess your life. If you work in his administration, you’ll have plenty of time after January 20 to reassess because it’s not like anyone’s going to hire you. Enjoy all those covid parties now because you’ll probably never be invited to a party ever again.
During the campaign, Trump and his people couldn’t shut up about Hunter Biden. He was the star of their convention. He was brought up at the debates. Donald Trump tried to paint the Bidens as corrupt and Joe as a bad father.
Here’s a question: If three out of five of your children go to prison, are you a bad father? That goes for pardons too. If three of your children…and a goon one of them married, all need pardons, you probably did something wrong. Naming the first one after your corrupt orange ass was a bad start. For the Trump family, issuing pardons is just another day of business. For the Trump family, corruption is the business.
Hunter Biden doesn’t need a pardon. Hunter Biden is not under investigation…not even by Trump’s Justice Department. Why? Because he didn’t do anything illegal. But Ivanka, often referred to as “Grifter Barbie,” had to answer questions in an investigation over the inauguration. That’s just warming up.
Why was Ivanka paid as an outside consultant to the Trump Organization while she was also employed by the Trump Organization? The payments were used as tax write offs for Donald Trump. Where is all that money donated to the Trump Inauguration, which Ivanka played a huge part in? What about all those patents granted to Ivanka in China? Ivanka also violated the Hatch Act by endorsing a product and campaigning for a presidential candidate while employed by the White House. A lot of government employees did that by the way.
How about all the foreign bailouts for her husband’s companies? Why did her husband lie again and again on his security clearance application? Why did he want a back channel to Russia? Why did he engage secretly with the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia, who ordered the murder of a Saudi journalist under U.S. protection? In 2018 alone, Ivanka and Jared made over $138 million from foreign businesses while they were government employees.
What all sorts of goonery has Don Jr. been sniffing up? Jr and Eric have continued to promote their father’s presidency for overseas business. The Republican National Committee spent $100,000 on copies of Jr’s horrible book. The boys have grifted the government by overcharging the Secret Service at Trump resorts. Eric’s wife and Jr’s screechy girlfriend are both receiving salaries from the Trump Campaign. What a bunch of fucking grifters.
So after a couple of years smearing Hunter Biden, it’s the Trump kids who are in discussion over receiving pardons…along with Rudy, Roger Stone, Paul Manafort, and probably a few hundred more Trump goons. What I wonder, while others who don’t hold dirt on Trump may have to purchase their pardons, will the Trump kids’ pardons be Christmas gifts? I’m sure they’ll make excellent stocking stuffers.
The likes of Roger Stone doesn’t care about being seen as guilty and corrupt, but do the Trumps? Because, when you accept a pardon, you accept guilt. I guess they can make it work for them since Donald Trump has made being an impeached president kinda his thing. Being guilty, corrupt, and pardoned can be the Trump kids’ jam.
These are people who never accomplished anything on their own…ever. So with pardons, what’s one more thing to inherit?

Hell, last Thanksgiving, I was in Washington, D.C. with my then-girlfriend. We had Chinese food in China Town and saw the Capitals play (they won. I bought a cap)…and the next morning while she was having breakfast alone, I was drawing a cartoon before we drove to Colonial Beach to have dinner with her family. It was nice. There was fried oysters.
Is it any wonder I’m single?
A few things about this pardon of Michael Flynn:
By accepting it, Flynn, who had admitted guilt twice before retracting, is admitting guilt.
Donald Trump tried to issue this pardon in a news hole. Whenever a politician wants to do something with little coverage, they do it in the afternoon and it’s best on a Friday. Here, Donald Trump issued a pardon to one of his goons on Thanksgiving eve. If this was last year, he would have done it while I was stomping around China Town. A lot of the press were winding down and preparing for family and turkey yesterday afternoon. By the time Monday gets here, nobody’s going to remember this and there will be some new outrage to be outraged about.
Donald Trump keeps screaming he won the election, “by a lot,” yet he pardoned a goon which is his acceptance he’s going out the door. He’s leaving.
I drew about Trump pardons yesterday, but how many more pardons am I going to draw? Will he pardon George Papadopoulos, despite not knowing him and claiming he was “just a coffee boy?” Some are saying he might pardon Rick Gates, but he cooperated with Robert Mueller’s investigation. I totally expect a pardon of Paul Manafort, who is in prison and refused to cooperate with Mueller. Trump will reward him. Roger Stone, who had his prison sentence commuted, is publicly asking for more. He wants a pardon. Of course, Roger Stone is a low life and has no reservations about appearing guilty. I expect Stone to get his pardon. He’s disgusting which plays into Trump’s wheelhouse.
According to reports, there is a team in the White House studying who to pardon and that team is being led by none other than Trump’s son-in-law, Jared Kushner. Who better to lead a team studying the pardon of Trump goons than a Trump goon? The Biden Justice Department should add the businesses of Jared to their investigations. Perhaps Jared will receive a pardon. His wife, Ivanka, is being investigated. Maybe daddy will pardon her.
Perhaps Donald Trump will pardon Steve Bannon and others involved with the build-the-wall scam. He issued a pardon for conservative conspiracy theorist columnist Dinesh D’Souza, who pled guilty to making illegal campaign donations. He also pardoned a friend of Steve Baby Fishmouth Mnuchin, Wall Street Executive Michael Milken who pled guilty to securities and tax violations, got 98 racketeering charges dismissed, and is still worth over $3 billion.
Alan Dershowitz is representing a couple of lesser-known goons and he’s angling to have them pardoned. He praised Trump’s pardon of Flynn. He’s either rubbing Trump for a few pardons or he’s actually a huge fan of Donald Trump issuing pardons as reward to his associates.
In case you’re a Republican, let me lay it out for you: Anyone pardoning their associates is engaging in corruption. It’s a reward for their silence. Do you see Michael Cohen receiving a pardon?
The only people Donald Trump has pardoned has been goons and corrupt racist mother fuckers like Sheriff Joe Arpaio, celebrity causes, billionaire Wall Street grifters, and his friends. You don’t really see poor people…or non-whites…with unfair prison sentences receiving pardons…unless a Kardashian lobbied for them. Most of the people he pardons are guilty rich assholes…just like him.
I really hope Donald Trump does pardon himself so we can finally have the question answered. Can a president pardon himself? I say no because you can’t be your own judge. But then again, there are three Trump justices on the Supreme Court which is corrupt in itself.
Of course, Donald Trump is corrupt so I expect him to pardon himself.
Donald Trump is the most corrupt president in our nation’s history. He’s stopped working as president since he lost the election. He’s only left the White House to golf. He won’t answer questions from the press. And the only thing he’s done is bitch and pardon his goons. He’s going to be corrupt all the way to January 20.
What I really hope for is that Donald Trump eventually lands in prison. And when that happens, I hope the irony of his pardons comes to him.
