George Soros

Blaming Soros

cjones12312019

In the buildup to the 2018 midterm elections, conservative conspiracy theorists floated the idea that George Soros was funding a migrant caravan approaching from Central America to invade the United States. The biggest proponent of this conspiracy theory was the president of the United States.

The lie originated (where else?) on social media, where facts are not required, especially on Facebook if you pay to air lies. It spread to right-wing websites. Fox News’ Lou Dobbs, Laura Ingraham, and Maria Bartiromo each suggested the caravan was receiving outside funding (Wink! Wink!). Florida Representative Matt Gaetz, an advocate for all things that are conservative bullshit, posted a video on Twitter of someone supposedly handing cash to migrants to “storm the U.S. border,” and asked, “Soros?”

Then, Donald Trump after claiming “criminals and unknown Middle Easterners are mixed in” with the caravan, started throwing out the idea that George Soros was funding the “invasion.” His reasoning for the claim? “A lot of people say.”

George Soros is a favorite boogieman for right-wingers, white nationalists, racists, your fucknut uncle, and your average neighborhood neo-Nazi. He was a target of the pipe-bomber who was also a Trump supporter. His name was mentioned by the shooter of the Pittsburgh synagogue, who echoed additional rhetoric from Donald Trump, like the threat of “globalism.” Psst: When they say “globalism,” they mean “Jew.” Donald Trump has stood before the United Nations and railed about “globalists.”

Conservatives have spent years gaslighting each other about George Soros. One lie manufactured by the likes of Trump, Louie Gohmert, Matt Gaetz, Roseanne Barr, Alex Jones, James Woods, Dinesh D’Souza, and Larry Klayman is that he assisted Nazis after they invaded his home of Hungary, despite the fact he was a Jewish child at the time evading persecution from them. Republicans can truly be the vilest people one can come across.

Republicans claimed he was funding Occupy Wall Street, the 2017 Women’s march, gun-control activism by survivors of school shootings, and the protests against Brett Kavanaugh. He’s been blamed for the existence of Snopes, a fact-checking site because facts are also evil according to Republicans.

The Daily Telegraph accused him of being involved in a “secret plot” to make voters overturn their initial Brexit decision.

While talking about an arrested suspected terrorist, Turkish President Recep Erdogan said, “who is behind him? The famous Hungarian Jew Soros. This is a man who assigns people to divide nations and shatter them.” At least Erdogan didn’t hide the “Jew” part and wink at everyone.

George Soros is also blamed and accused of manipulating the economy and banks (because he’s rich and Jewish) and of controlling various aspects of the U.S. government, like the State Department and FBI (deep state).

During a rant to Vanity Fair over bloody marys, Rudy Giuliani accused George Soros of being a puppet master, claiming he “elected eight ‘anarchist’ district attorneys’ in the United States,” and is able to control FBI agents and diplomats, such as those in Ukraine. He said Soros was a “horrible human being” who is an “enemy of Israel.” Rudy also said, “Soros is hardly a Jew. I’m more of a Jew than Soros is.” I’m just shocked he wasn’t having those bloody marys with Erdogan.

The antiSemitic rhetoric coming from Trump and Giuliani is as much to blame for hate crimes against Jews as are the chants of “Jews will not replace us” by the Charlottesville tiki-torch Nazis.

Last night, a man barged into a rabbi’s home in Monsey, New York and stabbed five people. In case you’re a Republican (I had to point this out to someone earlier this week), this isn’t just the Christmas season. It’s also Hannukah.

Authorities have yet to determine if this attack was based on anti-Semitism, but c’mon.

Here’s something true and not a conspiracy theory: When Donald Trump, Rudy Giuliani, or any of the other conspiracy theorists on the internet, Fox News, in Congress, etc., create these conspiracy theories, they have no concern or worries about repercussions. They don’t care if they create a dangerous atmosphere. They don’t care if people die. They have no interest in being responsible for their comments.

This is another example of the dangers with Donald Trump as president. Donald Trump costs lives.

Zucky’s Sticky Van

cjones11202018

When Facebook discovered Russians were using their platform to meddle in the 2016 presidential election to help Donald Trump, sow seeds of chaos in our nation, and disrupt our democratic process, what did they do?

Did they stop it? No. Did they alert the public? No. Did they do anything to protect our sacred democratic institutions? Oh, hell no. They started a public relations campaign to distract us and hired a Republican opposition research firm to engage in conspiracy theories to deflect the company’s responsibility in the crisis. The GOP firm actually mimicked the Russian strategy and conducted a smear campaign against Democratic financier George Soros by linking him to anti-Facebook protesters.

Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg is denying any knowledge of the smear campaign or of the hiring of the GOP dirty tricksters. Maybe, your best defense isn’t to copy the defense of the nation’s most historic liar. Next, Zuckerberg will be tweeting (if he tweeted) “no collusion, Russian hoax,” and “witch hunt.”

Facebook COO Sheryl Sandberg is blamed for the hiring, but she’s blaming an underling, which is about as believable as Trump not ever knowing there were Russians meeting with his son, son-in-law, and campaign chairman in his campaign headquarters.

A New York Times article accuses Zuckerberg and Sandberg of ignoring warning signs that Russians were exploiting Facebook to “disrupt elections, broadcast viral propaganda and inspire deadly campaigns of hate around the globe,” and of concealing it from the public.

According to the Times article; While Mr. Zuckerberg has conducted a public apology tour in the last year, Ms. Sandberg has overseen an aggressive lobbying campaign to combat Facebook’s critics, shift public anger toward rival companies and ward off damaging regulation. Facebook employed a Republican opposition-research firm to discredit activist protesters, in part by linking them to the liberal financier George Soros. It also tapped its business relationships, lobbying a Jewish civil rights group to cast some criticism of the company as anti-Semitic.

Though Zuckerberg and Sandberg are in denial, the Times story places them in meetings over the events, which is based on interviews with more than 50 people. At some point, the two will start crying “fake news” and go on Hannity.

The Russians have been meddling all over the globe. They’ve attacked our elections, elections in Europe and the entire Brexit mess is their fault. On top of all that, they are a big reason we have a president Donald Trump. What used to be a joke on The Simpsons is now reality. Facebook helped them do that. Since Russians were also paying for ads on their platform, Facebook profited from it.

Facebook was afraid of implicating Russia and taking down fake pages of Russians and their followers because it would anger…wait for it…Republicans. So, instead of angering those Republicans, they joined them. No, they didn’t start a campaign about Clinton’s child-sex-slave pizza joint. They started an anti-Semitic campaign against Soros, people who protest Facebook, and competing companies.

Who could have predicted that Facebook and Twitter would be the end of humanity and civilization?

Facebook and Zuckerberg are complicit. Zuckerberg claims he doesn’t know the stickers are on the side of the van, but it’s his van.

MAGA Bomber

cjones10282018

After bombs were delivered to two former presidents, a former presidential candidate, a former CIA director, and other officials, the very first thing Republicans did was…make themselves the victims.

Republicans, who have been accusing Democrats of not having anything to run on except hatred for Donald Trump, have been campaigning on fear. Some GOP candidates have accused their opponents of supporting terrorists and even of being terrorists. They’re screaming about a caravan of refugees seeking asylum, who are still about 3,000 miles south of our Border, and describing them as an “invasion.” They say they’re creating jobs while Democrats create mobs.

Donald Trump has spent three years calling the media “fake news,” and over the past year has called them the “enemy of the people.” At a rally this week, he praised a Republican congressman for body slamming a reporter. He’s encouraged his supporters to rough up protesters at his rallies, promising to pay their legal bills (he doesn’t pay his own legal bills). He’s called the press “horrible people” and his political opponents “evil.” He defended Nazis and white supremacists at a rally where they killed a woman. He has yet to hold a rally where a “lock her up” chant didn’t break out, including last night’s rally after the attempted bombings.

Each of the bombing targets, Bill and Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, Democratic philanthropist George Soros, Congresswoman Maxine Waters, former Attorney General Eric Holder, former CIA director John Brennan, and the offices of CNN, have been harshly criticized by Trump.

Despite all this violent and hateful rhetoric, Trump sycophants are making the argument that a Democrat sent the bombs as a campaign tactic for the midterms. Based on that logic, Sheldon Adelson is financing the caravan and Republicans have been screaming at themselves and interrupting their own dinners.

Since none of the bombs exploded (and there may still be more out there), they argue that the bombs were fake and Democrats and the media are making too big of a deal out of it. These are the same people who freaked out and defended the arrest of a Muslim elementary student for bringing a homemade clock to school.

Even though he issued a statement and spoke at his rally about unity (try not to laugh), Trump has yet to call this incident “terrorism.” Even if the bombs were fake, even if it was just a bomb threat with a phone call, it’s still terrorism. Terrorism is designed to incite fear and panic. Basically, it works like Trump’s mouth.

There were typos on the envelopes. Each bomb’s return address belonged to a district office of Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz, which received Eric Holder’s bomb after it was returned. Some bombs had a parody of an ISIS flag meme that’s really popular in places like 4chan. The bombs contained shrapnel and were put together with tape. The bomb delivered to CNN was meant for Brennan, though he’s an analyst at MSNBC. If anyone needs to send me anything, I’m at Breitbart.

It is highly unlikely the sender or senders are Democrats trying to embarrass Trump. The bomb maker was probably wearing a MAGA hat while constructing his devices.

At his rally last night, Trump criticized the media for being negative. But, the most negative coverage the media reports is what’s coming from Trump’s mouth.

Trump and Republicans claim they create jobs while Democrats create mobs. But this week, Some Republican was creating bombs.
