Delta

Wing Nuts

cjones03022018

Remember when Republicans used to be pro-national defense and security? Remember when they stood for family values? Remember when they were against huge deficits? Remember when they supported law enforcement? Here’s a new one: Remember when they were pro-business?

What? Republicans are no longer supportive of business? Not in Georgia, if the choice is between business and rabid, hysterical gun nuts.

Georgia’s Lieutenant Governor, Casey Cagle, is threatening to block a break on the sales tax on jet fuel, which would benefit Delta Airlines, a company based in Georgia that employs over 30,000 people in that state.

Republicans blocking a tax break for a huge corporation. Now we are entering the Twilight Zone. What’s next for Republicans? Canoodling with porn stars? Oh yeah.

Why would Republicans oppose a tax break for Delta, other than it being gluttonous corporate welfare? Because Delta has ended its relationship with the National Rifle Association, where they provide travel deals to members of the association of lunatics that value automatic rifles over the lives of children.

After the recent massacre at a high school in Parkland, Florida, several companies have chosen to end their relationships with the NRA. I read one post by an overcompensating gun nut on Facebook stating he would stop using Norton because that company has ended their arrangement with the NRA. I hope he finds a suitable replacement as he’ll need virus protection with all the sketchy websites he visits for his conspiracy theories.

Donald Trump asked the crowd at CPAC what they loved more, tax breaks or the Second Amendment? Down in Georgia, the obvious winner is the Second Amendment, despite it not guaranteeing how many rounds you can fire per second into a school.

Can Republicans legally punish a company for its political views. Yes, if they word it correctly. Punishing companies for their political views were real popular during the Civil Rights Era. While it might be legal, it’s not ethical. But we’re talking about Republicans. Ethics went out the window a long time ago.

NRA spokesgoon Dana Loesch has argued that her organization is not a lobbying organization, but actually a fellowship group. Yeah, a fellowship group that spent over $5 million in 2017 on lobbying. Maybe Ms. Loesch felt they were fellowshipping when they were taking millions from Russians to help elect Donald Trump.

All that non-lobbying has Republicans firmly in the NRA’s pocket. Marco Rubio couldn’t even promise to stop taking their money, or even describe an AR-15 as a weapon of war while speaking to victims of the latest school shooting. Trump can’t say the word “gun” while talking about the shooting. And, Republicans in Georgia are willing to punish one of their largest employers because of travel discounts.

The Lt. Gov is running for governor. He may want to keep in mind those 30,000 voters who work for Delta. He may also want to think about companies considering moving to the state, like Amazon. Why move to a state that will punish you for standing by your principles?

Georgia should look north to see how things can work out for them. While state legislatures can punish businesses, businesses can bite back. North Carolina lost billions over their anti-gay bathroom bill when corporations decided not to move to the state, conventions, rock concerts, and major sporting events went elsewhere, and the state now has a Democrat governor.

Republicans love to bully, whether it’s teenage survivors of mass shootings or corporations standing on principle. Bullies only bully those they deem weaker. This time, they’re misjudging their targets.

When all is said and done after bullying companies like Delta, these Georgia Republicans, and those in Washington, may be left with nothing but peanuts.

Skanks On A Plane

cjones07192017

I want you, my readers to understand and appreciate the sacrifices and trauma I will put myself through to provide you informed commentary and punditry (that’s a word!). Today, I scrolled through Ann Coulter’s Twitter page. You’re welcome.

Why in the world would I want to visit She-Demon’s Twitter page? I read an article that said she sent over 30 tweets describing the horrible treatment she received from Delta Airlines on a flight last weekend. I wanted to see if that was true. So how many times did Skankzilla tweet about her mile-high injustice? I’m not sure because my eyes started stinging and I lost count after 40, and that’s not counting all the retweets. I don’t think there’s been a tweetstorm of that proportion since someone questioned the attendance of Donald Trump’s inauguration crowd.

So what sort of traumatizing experience did Delta put Coulter through to trigger such a bimbo fury? Did they force her into standby? Serve her fish after she requested chicken? Physically pummel her, bloody her face, and drag her off the plane like United did to David Dao? Amazingly find a seat that’s too narrow for even her skinny ass? Or even worse, make her sit next to a black guy? None of that. They moved her from seat 15D to 15A. Oh, the horror!

I don’t know why Delta moved her from an aisle seat to a window, but she didn’t like it. Coulter paid a $30 fee, which Delta refunded, to switch seats from the one she had originally booked. She ridiculed the refund and said that it cost her $10,000 of her time to select the seat she wanted, investigate the type of plane (it looks like a big Tylenol!), and periodically review seat options. If reviewing and researching is costing us time, then she owes me $15,000 for having to look at her Twitter page and another $5,000 for inadvertently seeing her photo (here come the night terrors).

And “periodically” review seat options? What the fuck is that shit? Did she look at seating options at 12:15 A.M, and again at 7:20, and once again at 9:15? It’s a fucking chair, and they all face forward. You’re not buying a house.

But since she did so much “reviewing,” let’s give her a tip: Ann, when the Muslim extremists hijack the plane you should know the first people they’re gonna slice with box cutters will be those in aisle seats. Delta could have saved your life!

Coulter was so incensed, that she took a photo of the unfortunate woman who got her seat and posted it on Twitter. We all knew Ann was a horrible person, but sheesh. It wasn’t that woman’s fault, Ann. Ann isn’t well known for exhibiting much compassion, but she does display hypocrisy. Last April, she dished out scorn toward David Dao after United beat him up. She tweeted, “Sorry about the dragging, but the convicted pill-mill doctor should be deported.” I guess a rich white shrill-mill having to change seats is much worse than an Asian-American being assaulted by sky marshals.

Ann wrote the book on victimization. Really! She literally wrote a book on the topic. It’s called, Guilty: Liberal “Victims” and Their Assault on America. It’s 311 pages of Coulter bitching about liberals playing victim which is ruining our nation which you can find on Amazon for $11.70. That was 2009 Ann. 2017 gives us Snowflake Ann in need of a safe space. When will rich white people finally catch a break in this nation? I dream of an America where rich, white, horrid people can fly to Palm Beach without the injustice and inconvenience of having to change seats.

Who I really feel sorry for are the people in Florida. Don’t they have enough reptiles down there?

Creative note: My first idea was to draw Coulter finding alternative air travel as a witch on a broom. But I knew someone else would also think of that idea. I was right. It’s been one day and I’ve already seen two of them, but since that was my first idea I’m going to guess it was theirs too.

Also, this column is not sexist because you can’t be sexist or misogynist toward something that’s not human.

Flying With Fanatics

cjones11302016

It’s bad enough having to listen to Trump nuts at family dinners, your local tavern, on the internet, Fox News, etc. Imagine getting stuck next to one on an airplane. One such passenger seated next to a Trump fanatic whipped out her camera and made a video of the guy standing in the aisle shouting at the other passengers. Apparently Delta Airlines offers seats at window, aisle, and lunatic.

The man asked if there were any “Hillary bitches on the plane,” and continued with “Come on, baby!” “Trump! That’s what I’m talking about. Hey, baby! Donald Trump! He’s your president, every god damn one of you. If you don’t like it, too bad.” Well we don’t like it and it is too bad.

There is something about Donald Trump that inspires stupidity to get even louder than usual. The man was allowed to remain on the flight from Atlanta to Allentown, Pennsylvania which is shocking. Allentown has an airport? Delta eventually banned the guy from their airline for life.

If you think that guy’s crazy another Trump crackpot is claiming Donald Trump actually won the popular vote if you discard the millions of illegal voters. Oh wait…that Trump crackpot is Donald Trump.

Trump has no evidence there was mass voter fraud or that he won the popular vote. At this point Hillary Clinton has two million more votes than Trump. It’s pretty bad when the maniacs who love fake news and conspiracy theories include the president-elect. It’s also really weird that the candidate who won is complaining about the results and claiming voter fraud.

The main thing Trump is upset about is the recount effort in a few states he won by very slim margins. I don’t expect the recount to change the results but we need to conduct them to find out the truth. When there’s accusations of a foreign government hacking into our system and the results were so different from the polls, it needs to be looked into it.

I’m sure Trump will continue not being presidential and take the occasional break from using the presidency to enrich his corporation and appointing Nazis to his cabinet to tweet out new conspiracy theories.
